♕ c h a p t e r  f o u r ♕ — homeroom a r i a  h a l e ﹉﹊ ♕ ﹉﹊ ' we have   the right      to be heard ' I drank too much yesterday. It was surprising for me to find myself in my room covered with my duvet cover, a strong scent lurked in my room. It was a mesmerising scent that belonged to a guy, the events of last night seemed like a complete blur. I know for a fact I went to the party yesterday, I remember seeing the Kings. I had one thing in my mind that never left, I spoke to Carter Dean for sure. I made sure to spill punch all over his expensive coat, after all, I needed his attention. "How did you do that?" Anna asks, her eyes widening as I tell her about the events of last night. She probably had no faith whatsoever in me to grab their attention. I shrug my shoulders as I hear the class bell ring. It was time to go into class, I frown leaving Anna behind. The first period I had was homeroom. I walk inside to be met with an empty classroom, no students were present yet. There was a teacher in the class, he had a slight hunch back, he seemed rather old. "I think you're in the wrong homeroom, this is homeroom X and it's for very special students." the old guy comments, I frown. This was the room stated on my timetable. "It says classroom X." I show him the timetable, he widens his eyes before murmuring a quick apology. "Take a seat, the other students will arrive soon." he tells me, I look at him slightly confused. I shake my head, this teacher was acting really weirdly. I take the seat next to the far end, there wasn't many seats in this place. But what did this old teacher mean by special students, who could possibly be in this class? Suddenly the door opens. Revealing Reuben Foster, he looks at me for a split seconds before rubbing his eyes as if what he saw was wrong. I felt like smacking him across the cheek after what he said yesterday. "What are you doing here, this is a special homeroom." he snaps, his cold demeanour however doesn't affect me a single bit. "It's on my timetable, maybe you should ask the people who make them — asshat." I mumble, Reuben clenches his jaw at my words. It's nice to know I make him this angry, it's a pleasant sight to frustrate a King. He makes his way over towards me, his eyes showing an emotion I can't decipher. "You know who I am, yet you still have the audacity to speak back to me," he says coldly, his eyes darkening. "I would suggest you keep your tongue inside your mouth because what I can do will ruin you." Reuben takes the seat far away from me. I don't bother speaking back because it will only irritate him more, I'm not looking forward to him having a suddenly outburst. I notice the teacher silently watching us, he doesn't even tell Reuben to apologise. The Kings have more powers than teachers too? It makes no sense, how do they hold enough power to silence teachers? The door opens once more, this time it was Carter who had walked through the door. He notices me and smirks immediately, I watch as he makes his way towards me. He ignores Reubens harsh stare, taking the seat right beside me. It seems like Carter Dean is interested into playing my game, after all it takes two players for one eventful game. "Didn't know you were in my home room darling." Carter says, his raspy voice almost making the room vibrate. I notice his outfit, his tie was loose it seemed like he had his school blazer customised. The huge Armani logo was standing out, how could one be this rich? He made the school blazer into something designer. "How are you this rich?" I question, scanning his expensive suit in awe. It disgusted me how he was this privileged, he has so much power but he uses it in vain. "I work for it." he simply responds, playing with his loose tie. I raise one eyebrow up, suddenly intrigued. "What do you do? You're just a high schooler with no diploma, you can't earn this much money." "I do a lot of things." "Like?" "Why are you so interested darling? Didn't your mother teach you sometimes a little too much curiosity can destroy a person?" Carter nonchalantly says, yet his words seemed as if he was threatening me. "It doesn't hurt to question, plus for me there's nothing to destroy — so it's okay." I state, watching his smirk drop. He seemed serious now. "There's always something." he says bluntly, leaning on his chair. Before I could reply the door slams open. Elliot Grey strides into the classroom with a blank expression, he doesn't even look in my direction as he sits at the back beside Reuben. It was hard to understand how he was feeling if he didn't show any emotions. I haven't even heard him talk at all yet. Elliot had a cut on his lower lip, it seemed like he did something last night. He was only in the party for a while until he left half way through it. I've been told he fights, so it must be that. It confused me, what guy fights every night but returns to school looking innocent? His boss glasses laid on the bridge of his nose, complimenting his facial structure immensely. "See something you like?" Carter questions, I could tell he was smirking. I look at him, his auburn eyes burn into mine. "No." I say, there's no need for me to like any of these Kings. They all caused trouble, they were all devils in their own way. Liking them is one big mistake since they'll find a way to wreck your life, after all, they crave destruction. "Good." Carter states, his words were sharp. I furrow my eyebrows as I watch him text on his phone, there was something odd about him. He was hiding something, there was a smaller picture waiting to be painted. "You didn't tell me how you get your money." I blurt out, it was something I wanted to know. Carter looks up, his cold irises meet mine sharply. "By doing bad things darling."  ﹉﹊ ♕ ﹉﹊ who's your favourite king?
