Chapter 3: She took my breath away

1748 Words
Kai After that hunting expedition in the woods, I took a cold shower under the waterfall to wash the blood away and Arthur drove us straight to club seventy. Now that none of the howling, screaming and killing an innocent deer barely scratched the surface, in fact I was feeling guilty taking a life, My very own club was the only place my mind would calm down despite the noise and smell the of alcohol, the entire place buzzing with the electricity of hundreds of people all of whom I could hear their heart beats, whispers, their breathing patterns and phones beeping while seated in the control room naked, my arms spread on the blue leather couch and my eyes shut thinking of nothing really but how miserable my life was. The room was disheveled. Broken furniture and clawed walls. That explains my nakedness, whenever being human became unbearable morphing to my wolf form without hesitation was the answer. Honestly, that rage race had not helped much. The misery was still within me, killing me from inside like a cancer. Why me? So what was I supposed to do with all that money and power if I couldn't even get a girl to be with and a good night's sleep like everyone else? In front of me was the live CCTV feed portrayed on a monster LG 325 inch screen. From my chair, with a glass of Hennessy at hand I could see every corner of the club. There was a wireless mouse on my desk that could be used to change point of view zoom in or reduce the image on the screen, and while looking my eyes caught something. "Damn!" I said my gaze fixed on the screen while my hand blindly swept across the table looking for the mouse. My heart felt warm just seeing her from that far. When my right hand finally caught up with the mouse I quickly zoomed in converting that specific feed to full screen. Right there in the middle of the lit up dance floor, this girl was dancing in sync with the beats of the song.... that's an understatement. Let me put it this way, she was vertically moving her slim figure sensuously, gyrating on an imaginary axis, her arms on her head and her hair was spread out swaying against the movements of her thin bee like waist. For a minute my eyes didn't blink, my body and mind just got consumed in the magic of her craft, she was in a short maroon dress from which her long shaved limbs protruded in those open toe shoes. And she danced with that freedom and rebelliousness that got my heart beating fast, it stopped, then picked up the pace again faster. This new girl took my breath away. I knew I had been there before, being attracted to girls in the club and it all had ended badly for me with some saying they'd never want to see me again. That judgment made me to treat all of them, the girls who come to night clubs as nothing but dull cheap hoes who didn't know how to say thank you. Well, she was different. Out of temptation I paused the feed and looked at her from hair to nail drank from my glass and grabbed a towel from the hanger. My wolf was in agreement and he just wanted to come out and grab her, sniff her hair, snarl her and growl playfully at her feet and gently tackle her down, lie on her chest stress free letting her breathing pattern raise move my head up and down. "Arthur! Come in here buddy!" I said and resumed play of the feed. She had stopped dancing, a low growl escaped my pursed lips and my iris glint out of anger. "Boss" Arthur said standing by the door. "Come in" I said still watching her, seated all alone by the counter, sipping on her drink and watching the revellers dance, “You see that girl by the counter?" I showed him with the index finger of my right arm, my left was around his shoulders in a brotherly embrace. "Positive boss" "You know her? Have you ever seen her around here or anywhere in town?" "No sir" "Good, I want her in my office. Do everything you can to get her to meet me" "Are you sure about this boss?" He said looking all over the place, the broken furniture was not painting a very good picture. Arthur's biggest worry was me snapping in anger and murdering a human. He was right, after that visit to hunt memorial I wasn't really in the mood but that didn’t mean my bloodthirsty reaper self was unleashed. In fact, he was under control the moment we saw that girl. "Am good man, besides she is special. I can feel it here" I said with my right arm on my heart. "Okay boss, girth up then. Am sure she won't be willing to meet you like this" "Sometimes you forget am your boss!" I growled my iris glowing. He just laughed off lazily punching me on the shoulder. Arthur was more than an employee to me. He was a friend and brother. While he left I quickly dressed up. And of course took an IV shot of wolfs bane. Lynn Club seventy surely lived up to my expectations and praise of the two cab drivers. I was feeling alive after that dance. It was some sort of an asylum, dance was a sanctuary where I'd go when I felt sad and not sure what to do. My mind was still debating about my life, relationship and goals. No matter how much I tried to shove the love topic at the back of my mind it came bouncing back like a tennis ball hitting the wall. Was it time to face my fears and the truth? I was almost twenty six with no boyfriend or in the right state of mind to have one. Every man I saw had lies and cheating written all over them. Maybe excess drinking would have helped. "Tequila please!" I said to the bar tender slamming my glass on the wooden counter with a bang. "It's too early, but what can I say, it's your money" he said and grabbed a bottle from the shelf behind him, poured half a glass and raised his gaze to look at me. "Enough" I said. When I turned around there was this heavily built guy in a black suit standing in front of me. He scared the living hell out of me and the first thing that rang in my head was, what the f**k had I done wrong? He then cracked a surprisingly beautiful smile with his hands behind his back. "You're beautiful" he mumbled. And I pretended not to have heard what he said. "Sorry what did you say? Am I in trouble?" "I didn't say anything, you're not in trouble" he said gently but a bit louder due to the noise and music. "But I heard you say something" "My boss wants to talk to you. I will really appreciate if you followed me upstairs" he showed the way. "Sorry but am not interested. No offence, failing at love is the reason am partying like this unless he wants to talk about business though am sure he doesn't know what I do am not that popular around here. You know what? Just...just tell him I politely said no" "I didn't want to say this, my boss is the owner of this club. Kai Watson am sure you've heard about him" "Ooh, yeah. I have and I wouldn't want to say no to such a famous guy. Please, after you" Okay, I know you're wondering why I backed down after he brought Kai in the picture. It has nothing to do with money, there was enough of it in my accounts and a lot coming in. But a drink or two with such a guy could also help expand ones knowledge and there was no chance he wanted me. Last time I checked girls over there were literally fighting to be his bride. He was hot, I had seen the guy once or twice on TV and God...what a snack. "Wait here" He said when we got to a mahogany door along a well-lit painted white marbled floor hallway. "Okay" I said standing alert. When he disappeared through the door I quickly made my hair, stretched my dress downwards and sprayed some fresh mint in my mouth. Mum taught me to cherish rapport yet there I was, ready to meet a billionaire smelling like a bottle of tequila. "He is ready for you" He said leaving the door open on his way out. His office was spacious with varnished modern high-end furniture. The floor was pure marble in a beautiful diamond pattern reflecting back to the white as snow ceiling the millions of rays of bright white light that hit it simultaneously from a flickering suspended luminary light fittings, dressed in a blue suit he was staring outside the floor to ceiling windows, his hands behind his back standing authoritatively. "Welcome" He said without looking at me, "Am sorry I couldn't get down there myself and ask you to meet me" he turned around and God he was more handsome in person, when his scent hit me I felt like swallowing my "all men are dogs" statement. Well, he might have been a dog like the rest of them but he was a cute one and would have surely given me some cute pups too. "It's okay, I understand you're a busy man" I said looking around his long desk, behind it a long C-suite black leather rotating chair with a shelf of books on the side. On his left was a set of couches with a coffee table in the middle in which drinks and a couple of glasses rested. "Kai Watson is my name, please join me for a drink it will mean the world to me" he said showing me to the client’s area with couches. "Am Lynn, thank you" I said as we both walked to the set table. My heart was beating fast. Unfortunately for me, he was having an effect on me. And it was very erotic than I expected. Chances were, my bed back at the apartment was going to be empty that night.
