CHAPTER 6 JACOB I walked away from her. Reluctantly. But the sooner I push Sophie Santellini out of my mind, the better. The banquet hall is swarming with activity, people laughing and smiling as they walk in and out. There are servers carrying trays of champagne, decadent food, and delicious canapés. On the stage of the big ballroom, a big jazz band plays aside glittering curtains as candles, golden chandeliers and champagne alike fill every corner of the room.
