I'm the king
Drew
I was sitting on my throne and smiled with joy. Finally the kingdom was mine, I got rid of my annoying mother and controlling father, and the most beautiful part of all this was that everyone who matters thought that my half sister did all this. They obeys me like the sheep to their shepherd. After I killed my mother I blamed everything to my sister and the most beautiful part of all this was that even she named her killer. I still couldn't believe that she called my sister with her last breath but at least I could tell to the people that she named Francine as her killer. My father wasn't a careless man and he suspected that Francine didn't kill my mother so I started to poison him slowly until his heart stopped. I had to grin again when I remembered how wonderful act I made when he passed away. Now everyone felt sorry for me and tried to cheer me up all the time. This is better than I imagined that it would be. My happiness didn't lasted long when my captain came into the throne room which was at the highest tower of the castle. It was covered with gold and gems everywhere and the huge dipterous door shut behind the captain. He was an old merman who also served my father well. He swam closer to my throne and bowed. I showed him that he could talk.
- Tell me Octavio, why did you disturb me in my grief? - He stared at me and frowned his eyebrows before he said.
- Your highness, our scouts noticed the arrival of a strange mermaid near to the city. They also reported that this mermaid is probably a siren, she attacked the leader of the rebels. - I clapped in my happiness, this day just can't get any better.
- This is perfect Octavio! - I stood up from the throne and pat his shoulder. - This is absolutely perfect!
- Excuse me your highness but I don't understand you. - I grinned and sat back , after that I looked into Octavio's green eyes.
- My dear captain, that siren is probably my bastard sister, but if I just let her kill first the leader of the Rebels , they won't be against me anymore! - Octavio looked at me and he scratched his with beard in worry.
- But your highness, what if she joins them? - I laughed and said.
- No problem either way. If she joins them than those citizens who are already at my side will even fight braver for their own safety and peace. - This was absolutely marvelous! Octavio kept looking at me like I was a little crazy but I didn't give a f**k about it. I was the king! So I dismissed him and tried not to jump in joy. My plan functioned even better than I planned and my little sister assisted to my masterpiece without her consent! Every piece of this puzzle just got to its place.
Octavio
I closed the door behind me after the king dismissed me...King he was just a stupid, cruel child. My daughter was probably right about that he killed his parents for the power. My poor baby I have to visit her soon to see if she was fine. If that siren hurt her - my hands clenched in fists- I will personally kill that monster! Kilie was our only joy in life and after my wife passed away I had nothing left in this world just her. When the Queen and King died and this pathetic child got on power she joined the Rebels to guide and protect them and to bring justice to our kingdom one day. I only stayed here to be able to update her about what is this rat up to. I swam next to the guards who protected the throne room and kept my way back to the barracks to help for my soldiers to train. As I swam in the corridors of the castle I must stop in the door of the ballroom. I peeked into the ballroom and there was a huge painting of the late king and queen, poor Amelia, she was such a kind-hearted and wise woman. Every single citizen loved and respected her, not like her husband. Even after Amelia's infidelity came to light the people of the kingdom supported her wish to just outcast the baby instead of killing her. We all knew that the king tortured her and they didn't love each other since the prince, now king, was born. I was Amelia's good friend and also her adviser. She told me one day that she just can't love Drew the same way she loved Francine. I watched the painting and remembered of the day when she had to give away her daughter. Amelia's beautiful face got immediately a lot older, deep wrinkles appeared on her perfect skin and even her hair got a little paler. We were sitting here and watched out of the window as the light of the setting sun painted the surface of the ocean into a cavalcade of colors. She sighed and said with her calming and sweet voice.
- My dear Octavio, I have a feeling like he wasn't my son. When I held Francine in my arms I felt the most lucky woman on the world, she was perfect and cute, even smelled similar to me. When Drew was born and my husband brought him to me the next day I loved him but only because I knew that was my duty. The doctors told me that this was just depression after labor and its normal, but if this as right why I didn't feel the same with my daughter? - She looked so unsure and sad I really felt sorry for her. Amelia's face was still red from last nights slaps what she got from her husband. But there was no way to escape for her. She couldn't divorce from him because without her the king would've lost his right to reign so for Amelia this life was a living hell. I put my hand on her fragile shoulder and looked into those purple eyes.
- My queen, I know it is difficult, but Drew is also your son, the only difference between them is that he is more like your husband and you are blaming deep inside that child because of his tortures. - She looked into the nothing and a little pearl rolled down her cheek. She put her tiny hand on mine and said with a forced smile on her face.
- You are right my friend. I'll do everything possible to love my son the way he deserves it.- She than left me and just like she said, Amelia did everything for her son. But Drew's jealousy and anger just grew with the years. He hated his mother for cheating on his father and he hated his sister for her existence. The day when they outcasted Francine I had to take her to the shore where a couple of werewolves waited for her. It was a fat tall man with nicely done beard and a shorter blonde woman with a lovely face. They seemed reliable but something told me that they are only faking this and that the little princess will have a terrible life far from her home. But I had no choice, my daughter was only three years old and I knew that if I would've go against the king's wish I would put my family in danger. When I handled the little girl to the woman she smiled down at her than at me but her smile wasn't real and she said, while her husband counted the gold I gave to them as the first p*****t for raising the baby.
- Don't worry she will be safe with us! - She said and her husband smirked.
- Yeah, don't worry mate, she won't cause any problem to you anymore! - I grabbed his wrist and our eyes met.
- You have to take care of her and raise her properly if you don't want to get yourself into troubles.- He chuckled in a cruel way and took off my hand of his wrist.
- Calm down, this is not your pup! - I felt anger growing in me, that little innocent girl was already in danger and I had no way to help her. That disgusting man continued. - Your king told us what is our job, you should do yours as well. - I sighed and took a last glance at Francine. I left her there with these monsters and I just couldn't believe that , that sweet baby will be probably the most dangerous creature of our world.
- I hope one day you will get revenge on them little one if they would hurt you! - I thought as I swam home and back at home I kissed my Doris and my little Kilie. We were always kidding about the fact that Kilie's eyes were so different from ours. Hers were always the most wonderful hazelnut brown eyes. I shrugged her to my chest when I arrived home without saying a word to Doris. She stared at me from the nursery's door and crossed her hands in front of her chest. I whispered to my daughter.
- I will always protect you my little angel. - I came back from my memories to the reality and with a heavy sigh I closed the ballroom's door and continued my journey to the barracks.
