Chapter 8Evan’s sitting eating toast when Rene comes in the room, shirtless, and if he were to never put a shirt on again, Evan would be more than okay with it, but when he sees the look on Rene’s face, he puts his toast down and swallows.
“Something wrong?” Evan asks.
“Graham Socks is missing. Sometime last night they think. They went to serve a warrant and couldn’t find him. They searched for him in the house and found a secret room. They want you to come take a look. There’s a lot of medical and scientific stuff in there. Nanook is going to look too,” Rene says.
“Nothing says guilty like running away. Wasn’t anybody watching him?” Evan asks, getting up so he can go get dressed.
“His house was under police guard, but there was a gap between shifts. They think he waited and snuck out.
