When Dexie saw her twin brother, she no doubt came over to him to hug him tightly. The young man could do nothing but sigh as his twin sister cried in his chest.
“What are we going to do now?” sobbing Dexie asked.
Dexter felt pity for both Ellie and his twin sister.
“Excuse me, I must leave because there are now many patients in the ER, just call me when you need anything,” Cedrick said before leaving.
The Chairman just nodded at the same time as its sigh.
•••
“We're still transferring her to America for medications and therapy sessions.” serious suggestion of the Chairman.
The Chairman thought of this to show that his daughter had died in public eyes so that the case investigation could be closed which in turn would cause the fear of the person who did this to his daughter to disappear. He knew that the culprit was only afraid to return because he might go to prison.
“In that case, only the Chairman and I should go with her there,” Dexter suggested.
Dexie frowned because of what her twin brother said, “What do you mean?”
“We can all of them believe that Ellie is dead if her best friend goes to her funeral and I don't have to go to her funeral because I'm sure that almost no one knows we're close friends unlike you two.” Dexter shortly explained.
“But you're the Chairman of the company so—” Dexie interrupted when the Chairman suddenly answered.
“Dexter is right... You have to be here for the fake funeral and Dexter... He will explain everything to Ellie about me there." Chairman's response.
“B-But—”
“Just follow us in the US when the fake funeral is over here because when you go there, I'll come back here to manage the company.” Dexter's idea.
Despite Dexie's displeasure, she had no choice but to agree to the suggestion of the Chairman and her twin brother.
“Fine, maybe that would be better for her. I'll just talk to Cedrick about it because we'll need his help.” Dexie forced herself to agree.
Meanwhile, Dexter and Dexie are having problems with Ellie's transfer to the US for medical treatment, Jonathan is having problems with how to return to his country after the condition of his ex-wife, whom he almost killed, is likely to worsen.
Holding the glass of wine while standing and looking out the large window where the towering buildings can be seen, the woman he exchanged with Ellie, Fionna, suddenly hugged him from his back.
“Why are you thinking so deeply, Babe?” its question.
Instead of answering Fionna's question, Jonathan removed her hands that were hugging him.
“Is there any news about Ellie?” Jonathan asked seriously.
Fionna was annoyed by Jonathan's question to her because Ellie's name was always in his mouth.
“Aren’t you still able to move on with your witch-looking ex-wife? And am I still your secretary?” Fionna's angry questions to her boyfriend.
Jonathan got annoyed by what Fionna's said so he suddenly grabbed her hair tightly around the nape of her neck and firmly grabbed the girl's chin.
“Do you know that what I hate the most of all, are the people who are always making complaints? If I ask you to do something, you must obey me! Did you understand?!” Jonathan preached strongly to Fionna and then let go of her chin and hair.
“If I hear a complaint from your mouth again, you won't like what I'm going to do to you,” Jonathan added.
After this, Jonathan angrily left in front of Fionna. Fionna sighed as Jonathan left. She didn't think it would angry like this to her.
“Just don't try to tell me that you still love that woman because I'm sure you'll regret it,” she whispered to herself.
—••3 WEEKS LATER••—
Wearing a black dress and black heels, Dexie wept as she walked to the funeral home where her best friend's fake urn was kept. Almost all of those who sympathized with her friend's fake funeral were their only classmates in high school.
“Condolence.” Andrei's sad condolences.
Andrei Espinosa was Jonathan's only friend in high school. Like Jonathan then, his family wasn't rich and they couldn't afford his education but now he is a professor at a famous university.
“Thank you for attending her funeral.” Dexie's only answer.
After that, Dexie walked directly and anxiously to the urn jar and she slowly wiped the tears in her eyes. She thinks she needs to be good at acting so that no one will suspect their plan, especially since some media also went there. She only took a few moments to touch the jar and photo of her friend then she started walking anxiously and even pretended to fall, fortunately, Andrei caught her.
“Are you okay?” the young man asked worriedly.
Dexie didn't answer and just continued walking out of the funeral home. When she got out of there, she went straight to the Parking lot so the reporters used this as an opportunity to follow her.
“Is it true that it was just an accident that happened to Ms. Romano?”
“Was there no foul play?”
“Do you agree with the investigation?”
“What can you say to people who say that your twin brother did this to the victim because the victim rejected him before?”
Questions from reporters make Dexie angry and clenched her fist. Unfortunately, Cedrick came over and grabbed the girl's right hand toward his car. Dexie was dumbfounded because of this and she just followed the young man while she used her shoulder bag to cover the left side of her face.
“Give us at least a little privacy first because we are still mourning in what happened.” Cedrick excused themself but the reporters still tried to follow them.
“Sir, what's your relationship with the victim?” asked by a reporter.
Cedrick couldn't answer it because when he opened the car door for Dexie and got on it, he quickly went to the other side of it and got into the driver's seat. He immediately honked the car loudly before driving it away from the parking lot.
While he was driving, Dexie just sighed.
“You may stay in my condominium unit first because I'm sure the reporter still chasing you, don't worry, no one lives there,” said Cedrick.
Dexie just nodded and thanked, “Thanks for helping us.”
“That's fine, the truth is that your company's help with our Hospital is still underpaid because my help to you isn't enough,” Cedrick replied smiling.
Dexie replied with a smile and a nod.
“I'm sure that man take his move when he found out that Ellie was dead so he sent reporters to ruin the funeral and put pressure on my twin brother. His cunning is different.” Dexie added.
“Why don't you just make a way for him to be imprisoned?”
“It isn't enough for him to be imprisoned without suffering, there is still a chance for him to be released. A person like him should also experience the mess that he did to others, isn't that a good idea?” Dexie's brief explanation.
Cedrick just nodded while driving. He thought that the girl had a point, especially since it wasn't a joke that they went through just because of that man.
“Won't your company's sales go down because of this issue?” Cedrick asked.
“Our company may be affected, but it is easy for us to deal with that. We already have a lot of experience in this situation.” Dexie replied.
Cedrick just nodded and didn't ask again.
While they were on the trip, Dexie's cellphone suddenly rang and she immediately answered it.
“Is everything okay?” Dexter's inquiry.
“I will not answer your call if there is a problem because I'll solve it first rather than wasting my time answering your call.” Dexie's sarcastic response.
“In that case, you should go to the Airport now—”
Dexie was hooked as she looked at her wristwatch. Her eyes immediately widened because she didn't think she would forget her flight now.
“I-I'm late?!”
“What's the problem?” Cedrick wondered as he was surprised by Dexie's sudden squeal.
Dexie immediately interrupted her conversation with Dexter and slowly put down her cellphone as she forced herself to be calm.
“I-I'm late for my flight.” Dexie's stuttering.
As a result, Cedrick immediately pulled over and stopped the vehicle on the side of the road.
“I-In that case, now is your flight?" astonishment of Cedrick.
Dexie just nodded while stunned, “I'm excited so I booked a ticket for today's flight.” Dexie's brief explanation.
“Uhm, you can rebook your flight later.” Cedrick's suggestion.
“I don't, I'm sure the company's stock price will go down now and no one can take care of the company if I leave.” sad the maiden's response.
“You're right, just wait for them to come back here, I'm sure your twin brother will not leave Ellie.”
Dexie just sighed until her eyes suddenly narrowed because of the joy that make Cedrick's face wonder.
“If I don't go to America, Dexter will take care of Ellie for five months there! I have a chance to separate Dexter from that witch Camille and get him closer to Ellie again!” Dexie said cheerfully.
Cedrick couldn't understand what the girl was saying who seemed to be suddenly overtaken by a wild soul in overjoy. Because of this, Cedrick did nothing but smile.
“Why are you smiling?” Dexie asked.
Cedrick didn't know what to say so he just make a false reason.
“Huh? I-I just remembered something funny.” Cedrick's intrusion.
He just sighed as he seemed to believe the girl. As a result, he started driving their car to his condominium unit. Cedrick and Dexie remained silent with each other until they reached the condominium building.
Because Dexie didn't know where that unit was, Cedrick decided to go with her. When they got to the unit Cedrick had already started to open its door by entering its passcode.
“010818 is its passcode,” Cedrick said calmly after he opened its door.
Dexie just nodded and entered the unit, she didn't let Cedrick stay any longer so she sent him away immediately.
“I'm okay here, you can leave me now.” smiling Dexie said.
“Fine, if you need anything else, you can call me.” the young man will before he leaves.
Dexie nodded until Cedrick left the unit.
She immediately sent the young man away not because she was disgusted with him but because she wasn't only comfortable with a man in a place where they were alone. When Cedrick left, Dexie took a deep breath and took out her cellphone to call Dexter and let him know that she wouldn't be going to the US anymore but when she opened her cellphone, she realized that it was in a low battery stage.
Since she didn't have a charger there, she looked for a charger inside the unit and thought she could find one but she was unlucky that day so she hurried out of the unit to chase Cedrick.
When she got out of the elevator, she first looked around and when she couldn't see Cedrick around, she went out of the building to look for him in the parking lot but the young man's car was gone.
“This day is really unlucky!” annoyance of Dexie.
Disappointed, she went back inside the building and went directly to her unit as her eyes widened when she saw Cedrick sitting on the sofa.
“W-What are you doing here? I thought you left but why are you here?” Dexie wondered.
“I met my young brother downstairs and then he borrowed my car first because he said he needs a car for their outing." Cedrick's brief explanation.
Dexie could do nothing but sigh because she realized that what was happening to her wasn't pure misfortune. Moments later Dexie approached Cedrick and Dexie held out her hand to the young man's face as if asking. “Lend me your cellphone.” frowned at this plea.
Cedrick didn't ask what the reason was and just handed the girl his cellphone. Dexie quickly picked it up and started calling her twin brother.
“Hello, who is this?” Dexter asks as he answers an unknown call.
“It's me, Dexie.” the girl replied.
“Aren't you on the flight today? How did you get the call?” Dexter wondered.
“No, I was late earlier, thanks to the reporters who chasing me.” Dexie's sarcastic reply.
“In that case, when is your new flight?”
“I haven't rebooked.”
“Huh? But why?”
“I'll just wait for you and Ellie to come back here.”
Dexie didn't wait for her twin brother's answer and ended their conversation immediately. She has no intention of talking about it or making an explanation, especially since she's not in the mood right now.
“Thank you,” Dexie said softly then she returned the cellphone to Cedrick.
After she returned the cellphone, it suddenly rang and Cedrick answered it quickly because it was his young brother who was calling.
“Oh, what's your problem?” Cedrick asked.
“Brother, I'll return your car tomorrow, because It's out of gas now." suddenly said his brother from the other line.
