Cora's Point of View
I was talking to Elder Rachel when I felt the most horrific pain course through my body. I began to scream, and I grabbed at my chest. My heart felt like it snapped in two. As the pain subsided, I felt someone touching me. I looked up and saw elder Rachel. She was touching my shoulder.
"Cora, are you okay?" She asked.
I looked at her and said, "My heart hurts."
"I am going to take a look at you."
"Okay."
I felt Elder Rachel's magic push into me, and all I wanted to do was cry. Then, as the elder's magic left me, Rachel looked at me with sadness in her eyes.
"What is wrong?" I asked.
"Honey, I have good news and bad."
"Spit it out," I said.
"Bad news. The bond between you and Zack is gone."
"What?" I screamed as I felt tears forming in my eyes. This could not be happening. "How?"
"I am not sure how this happened, but the bond is gone. So this could be a good thing."
"How is this a good thing?" Faith asked.
"We don't know where Zack is, and with the bond broken, she can feed until we find him."
"I don't want anyone else," I whispered.
"What is the good news?" Gabe asked as he pulled Faith towards him.
"Your pregnant," Elder Rachel said.
"How is that good news. I'm pregnant, my bond is broken with the man I love, and your crazy daughter has him," I screamed.
Before anyone could talk, a bright light appeared, and there stood my mother.
"Mom," I said with tears streaming down my face.
"Oh, honey, it will be okay. I have come to help you."
"How can I get him back?" I asked as I walked over to her and went into her arms.
"You and Zack were meant to be together, but this situation has to happen."
"What do you mean?" Elder Rachel asked.
"I can not reveal what will happen, but I need you to go to the human realm and find the Coven of light."
"There are still supernatural beings on earth?" Gabe asked.
"Many, but they live in hiding. The Coven of Light has several powerful witches and warlocks. Elder Rachel and Cora must go."
"How will we find them?" I asked.
"Rachel knows how. Unfortunately, my dear girl, you will need to find a human to feed off of until you and Zack can be reunited."
"I don't want to be with anyone else," I said.
"I know, but if you want to live and see your child born, then you will do this."
I nodded my head and looked at Elder Rachel.
"Will you open a portal for us?" The elder asked.
"Of course. When you are ready to return, Cora can open it again. Good luck," And then a portal appeared, and my mother disappeared.
"You ready?" I asked Rachel, and she nodded her head.
"Gabe, please try and find him."
"I will. You two be safe."
I hugged Faith and Gabe and then stepped through the portal. Gone was the cottage we were in, and in its place, we were standing in a room.
"Where are we?" I whispered.
"I am not sure," Elder Rachel said.
I watched Elder Rachel close her eyes and then begin to chant in a language I had not heard before. After that, her hands started to glow, and then the room went dark again.
"We are in a motel in Michigan," She said.
"Is the coven nearby?" I asked
"Yes, but it is hard to track."
"What do you mean?"
"I should be able to feel their energy, but it is cloaked. I can feel it, but it's like a busy signal. I think they are in a major city."
"SO, how do we find them?" I asked.
"If I were hiding my coven, it would be out in the open. So let's get a rental car and see if driving around will help me pick up their energy signal better."
"Sounds good."
We carefully walked out of the room and down a hallway. So far, no one questioned us, and we walked out of the hotel. As we walked away, I looked at the building, and it was a holiday inn.
"What is the purpose of a hotel?" I asked.
"People who travel around the planet can stay at a hotel or motel for a night or more."
"Oh, okay."
As we were walking, I saw so many things I had never seen before. Elder Rachel answered so many questions. She was even telling me about things back from her time living on earth. It was amazing to hear.
We walked up to an enterprise, and Elder Rachel said, "Wait out here. I am going to get us a car."
"Okay."
I sat on the bench outside the building and waited. Then, for the first time since I found out I was pregnant, I touched my stomach. I could not believe Zack, and I would be parents soon.
Would we have a boy or a girl? Will Zack be there to see me grow as big as a pumpkin? Will he be there when I give birth?
My head was swimming with thoughts, and when Rachel came out, she was smiling.
"Ready to hit the road?" She asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I looked at her and said, "Yes."
We got into a blue truck she called it and began to drive away. I looked out the window as we drove, watching everything pass by us.
"When will you need to feed?" She asked.
"In the next day or so."
"We will find you, someone, to feed off of."
"I'd rather not."
"Well, you only have two choices. Death or eat. Zack would want you to eat rather than die."
"I know."
As the two women drove through the state of Michigan back in Haven Lenny's army arrived at the Succubus village.
