After Jag and Jo left my office, I invited Sheryl to take a seat.
“How are you feeling?” I asked softly.
“Better, thank you.” She replied with a nervous smile.
“Have you seen the doctor? Is the baby doing well?” I asked.
“Yes, I had a checkup this morning. The baby is doing just fine.” She replied with a soft smile while rubbing her little baby bump.
“I’m glad to hear. You probably already know, but Kyle was locked up after what he did to you. I won’t let him intentionally put your pregnancy at risk. I wanted to talk with you first, before making my final decision on his punishment. I think…” I started, but Sheryl cut me off.
“There’s only one thing that I want.” She said and although her voice was shaky, it held new confidence.
