ALFREDO:                 I feel a smile cross my lips at the memory of our last shower, but upon opening my eyes all the joy leaves me as I realize I am still alone. Slowly tears begin to fall, getting lost in the cascade of water. I resolve to wash myself, not for me, but for her. I don’t want her to look at me this way. If she does begin to remember me, I don’t want her to remember me looking like this when she awoke. I wash my hair and scrub my body quickly, not wanting to be in the shower alone any longer. Once finished I step out, grab the towel and wrap it around my body. I stand motionless for a moment summoning up the courage to look at myself in the mirror, scared of what I might see.
