Chapter 19 : It all comes falling down*

Two Months later - Elemental Forest Time

Richard could not believe his luck, he never expected to get as far with Jamie as he had done. Two months of this realm’s time had passed since the first time of being close. No one had said anything when Jamie and he walked back from the meadow that day. Edward just raised his eyebrows and commented that Richard smelt of honey and cinnamon. 

Richard smiled as he thought about their relationship. They started with just a few stolen kisses and snatched private moments. Lux had complained that Jamie’s ten miles run time had gotten worse recently, knowing full well it was because she was having heavy make-out sessions with Richard. Richard was careful, always asked her permission and did not distract her from her training. Even though it nearly killed him in their sword fighting sessions. She even managed to disarm him because he was too distracted by her. That had not happened in over three thousand years. Edward had not stopped laughing since Jamie demanded his surrender. 

That night, Jaime had crept to where Richard slept and laid down beside him. Richard did not dare breathe, as he did not want to scare her off. But, when she snuggled next to him and put her head on his chest, he put a protective arm around her and breathed in her scent. Amon had purred loudly in his mind contented. Richard had drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face.

It had become a nightly occurrence now, neither of them now bothered to hide it. Richard so wanted to mate with Jamie, but he knew he couldn’t. The Crone had specifically said not to mate mark Jamie, and Richard already knew he was pushing the boundaries with what he was doing. 

“She said not to initiate, we don’t. We always ask permission And she tells us yes” Anom said. 

“I know Amon, but you know we would both lose control if we took it physically any further,” Richard replied.

Richard was also worried that she loses all the memories of him again. It was not fair, he did not know if he could be parted from her again.

“It will only be a mortal year, then you can join her. We just have a couple more holes to patch up in the starlight barrier. Then you can join her in the mortal world until she fulfils the curse and we can bring her home. We will fill her belly with young and never leave her side. “ Amon said enthusiastically.

“That is the dream, my friend!“ Richard sighed.

Amon was quiet for a moment, then he said, “There is one threat!” 

“Hakan the fire element!” confirmed Richard. Jamie had the strongest affinity with fire, even before she became a mortal. Hakan had become more and more furious at the relationship that was forming.

“I would keep an eye on him, Richard!” Anom advised.

A few days later

“Owwww” Jamie complained as she lost control of the firewall and it burnt her arm. 

“ you are not concentrating” shouted Hakan “ In fact, you are getting worse!”

‘The others don’t agree, Alizeh is super happy with me! I managed to fully shift into a wolf and hawk last week in her sessions‘ Jamie protested. “Our time is up anyway and I need to find some water to heal my arm.”

“And to find him. You're going to see him again aren’t you?” Hakan said accordingly.

“And? It is none of your business!” Jamie asked. 

“Soon, it will be none of yours either!” Hakan said with an evil smirk.

“What do you mean by that Hakan? Just spit it out, I had enough of the games already!”

“You mean Richard didn’t tell you? He made a deal with the Crone, he could stay on the condition.” Hakan said.

“On the condition of what, Hakan?” Jamie shouted.

“On the condition that you have all the memories of him and his friends removed before you return to the mortal world.” 

“You mean..” Jamie said quietly.

“Yes, as soon as you go home you won’t remember a thing about them. Of course, you remember what they taught you, just not their faces, voices or any personal experiences.” Hakan explained.

Jamie’s heart tightened as she said, “But why, why would he agree to that?”

“Because you are nothing more than his plaything sweetheart. It is what demons do! They manipulate and play with mortal’s feelings for their pleasure. I mean he use to f*****g empresses so compared to that .....” Hakan shrugged his shoulders.

“He slept with the Empress of Chaos?“ Jamie whispered shocked.

“Oh yes, for a good couple of thousand years. Why do you think she’s trying to get through? To be reunited with her mate of course!“ Hakan lied. “ It is for her good,” he thought “ she deserves so much better than a half breed demon!”

Doubt flooded Jamie, is that why he had not slept with her, because he still loved the Empress of Chaos? Did all the promises he made mean nothing because she Won’t remember them anyway? How could she be so foolish again!? Of course, he did not want her, she was just a plaything.

“I am sorry, Jamie, I just thought you should know.“ Hakan said softly.

Jamie closed her eyes and a single tear fell on to each Cheek “ Never again” she thought “ never again will I be taken for a fool”

She open her eyes and smiled at Hakan. “Thank you Hakan, I really do appreciate your honesty.”

Jamie walked out of the Garden into forest.
