My Accidental Luna

Chapter 16

Adaline's POV

After picking up Beck and loading an entire backend full of supplies, whatever that means, for the hospital, we set off to Barrett's house or pack. I'm still not quite sure what to call it. I had Beck sit in the middle seat with James since she could always get him to take a nap when he didn't want to. Plus, it was nice sitting next to Barrett by ourselves.

"He is far too excited to sleep on the way and the hour drive without a nap will make him extremely grumpy before its even dinner time. Beck can you work your magic please?" Barrett giggled next to me, "What?" I asked and he pointed to Beck who was now literally doing magic to get him to sleep, swirling some sort of twinkle above him. "Asking her to do her magic has a whole new meaning now huh?" my eyes went wide. "How, I mean do you do this often and is it dangerous?" I knew inside that it truly was safe but couldn't help the question. "Ad do you really think I would do it if it was dangerous, you two are far too important to me, and I do this fairly often but mostly to just make sure he doesn't wake you in the middle of the night." WAIT? "Is that what he means by the stars in my room? Now that makes sense, I was always so confused about that." I noticed Elliot in the front stiffen for a second when Beck started, but he relaxed after my questions. I want to ask but I don't want to call him out in a car full of people.

I must have fallen asleep as well, because next thing I knew was I felt Barrett move slightly next to me and I opened my eyes. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you, I just couldn't feel my arm and needed to readjust but we are pulling up now anyways." I noticed I was laying almost across him, blushing I sat up "Sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep" I stared out the window at the scenery "Dont apologies you can fall asleep on me anytime" I heard him cough slightly at his honesty. We were pulling up to a large gate that connected on both sides to a very tall fence. The road we were on was surrounded by woods on both sides, deep woods it looked like too. There were four large men standing by the gate's entrance. "Welcome back Alpha." They bowed and stepped aside to let us in. We drove up a long road, passed many houses and shops. There was a huge house sitting on top of a hill further ahead. We kept going towards that. The closer we got I realized this was the pack house and where Barrett lived. Wow, it is insane.

The house was easily four stories, very historic looking. It was white with all dark blue accents, the window shutters, the large double doors and it was surrounded by large bushes and all ranges of blue flowers. The place was beautiful. It had a large wrap-around porch. There was also a very large fountain out front with one white wolf and a midnight blue wolf that must be based off the family. Heather, Sam, Holden and a taller blonde pregnant woman, that must be Holden's wife, I mean mate, both? Next to her was a little toddler who looked exactly like Heather but with Sam's hair, that must be Sawyer. Behind them stood a very large man who looks almost identical to Barrett, he had a lighter version of Barrett's hair, he had to be his dad. Next to him was a beautiful, tall blonde woman. I could see her gorgeous blue eyes from the car. They were just like Hodlen and Barrett's, bright enough to see from a distance. His mom. Suddenly I felt very nervous and insecure. I was now surrounded by wolves far away from my home with my small son. I could feel my chest tighten and my breathing started to get more intense.

"Hey, Adaline ADALINE?" I came out of my thoughts as Bennett was shaking my shoulders and staring at me concerned. "Mommy, whats wrong?" Oh god, James saw me like that. "I'm sorry baby mommy is okay," Adaline get yourself together you have Beck here and you know Bennett wont let anyone hurt you, at least I hope not. " Don't worry my girl, I won't let anything happen to you or let anyone disrespect you, you have to understand that. You and James are my life now and I will make sure you are happy at all costs." I smiled at him "my girl?" he chuckled "hah yeah just trying it out, you don't like it?" It certainly was different. "I don't not like it but Im not sure it fits," I giggled. "You ready to get out now?" Beck had James in her arms outside the car who was already trying to escape to get to Heather. He had his hand out to mine to help me out. " Yeah, let's do it." I climbed out " that's my girl, hah see that one fits!" I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Heather walked up to us and went to James, grabbing him from Beck to give her a break from his wriggling. " Welcome guys, the meeting room is set up and ready to go. Mikayla wanted to attend as well, so she had a couple of Omegas ready to watch the boys and play with them." She said, smiling. Mikayla walked up to us and bowed her head. "Hello Luna, my name is Mikayla. I'm so glad to finally meet you and have you with us". She seemed really happy. "Please call me Adaline or Ad I'm not the Luna yet and I am also not used to formality yet." Sawyer came running over to her "LA up,up". I laughed " These boys are very attached to you guys." Heather came back to us. "Yeah, we joke that Sawyer is attached to Mikayla because the baby will be his mate." In noticed Barrett was near his parents talking to them and he turned to smile at me. "We don't care where is my future daughter?!" Did she mean me?

Well, here we go. "Dont worry too much, they already love you and they will side with you more than you think" Holden stated. "What do you mean?" "You'll know soon, I promise, but be prepared to be hugged until you cant breathe", he laughed. I walked over to them cautiously. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Blue, my name is Adaline. It is nice to meet you." I bowed my head as I saw everyone else do that to the leaders. I thought I would too. Mr. Blue laughed and his wife covered her mouth to hide her giggle. Barrett just smiled at me proudly. "Please, hunny, you don't have to do that. For one, you're human and, two, you are now the Luna and our future daughter-in-law." So, im still not ready to hear that yet, but I won't say anything, yet. "Also my name is Renee and this is my husband Bennett." She came to me and looked into my eyes I noticed them start to tear up and she hugged me. "Renee, thank you for allowing me, Beck and my son James into your home." She pulled back with the biggest smile "Your son? You mean I have a grandson, can I meet him please?" She sounded as though I would say no, I could never say no to her for some reason. I already feel like I am apart of this family and I know James will love her. "James come here please" he looked sad to leave Heather and Sawyer but he nodded and he ran to us. "Buddy, this is Renee and Bennett, can you say hi to them. This is their home." His eyes widened as he looked at them. " Mommy, his hair is almost like Barrett's". We all laughed. Bennett knelt down to him. "Hi little man it is nice to meet you", James jumped into his arms and looked at Renee. "Hi, you're pretty. Can we make cookies?" She was laughing "we sure can James in a little bit okay?" She scooped him out of Bennetts arms and hugged him close. I stood by Barrett smiling at the scene infront of me, everyone talking and James being surrounded by happy people. It made me feel loved. "Okay everyone, let's get inside. We have to get this meeting started. The Omegas are ready for the boys." Well, let's get this over with because I still have more questions and I have a feeling this meeting will give me the answers I need. "James you're going to play with Sawyer for a little while while mommy talks to the adults, okay?" He grabbed Sawyers hand "Okay mommy, come on Sawyer lets go play." They both giggled and headed inside with two older woman who looked ready for the crazy they were about to have.
