Chapter 14

Barrett's POV

I think we are scaring her away. She can't hide her feelings from me. Although she doesn't have a wolf, I can still slightly feel her emotions. " Just keep holding her, it will help her. I hope she fully turns, because then I can connect with her as well." Shaw has a point he can't fully connect with Adaline until she gets her wolf. "I think that is enough excitement for one day or at least for the morning. How about we all head inside and make a plan for the day?" James came running up to me and again wanted to be picked up. "Can I pet the wolf again?" I couldn't help but smile at the little guy, "maybe soon, right now let's get you inside for a snack and how about you pick what we do today?" His face lit right up and he climbed a little higher on my shoulder to see his mom, "really momma can I?"

"Sure buddy, what would you like to do?" Holden started mind linking me. "really dude I though you said we should get back? I mean no offense, but I would like to get back to my pregnant mate and Sam and Heather would like to get back to Sawyer." I know we all needed to get back but I wanted to connect with both James and Adaline and convince Adaline to come along with us. "Yes we will be heading back later tonight I want to connect just a little bit more so maybe I can get Adaline and James to come along" I practically felt the eye roll in the back of my head coming from him. Once we were all seated in the living room and James was happily munching on some crackers "Would you three prefer to head back now? We did bring two cars and I know you all have obligations back home" Heather perked up " I wouldn't mind getting back home a little early so I can get some snuggles in with Sawyer" Sam giggled. "NO I want to play with Heather" James was practically crying. " James, that is enough you don't like when I am away too long do you?" he hung his head at that and shook it no "exactly now Heather and Sam have Sawyer at home and he probably misses his mommy and daddy a lot" my goddess this woman, how can disciplining a child make me all hot and bothered. "It's because you just imagine her doing it with all our pups and pack as well" No that can't be true although the thought of her round with our pup while chasing James and two other pups does make my pants twitch. I need to get this woman marked SOON! Shaw just chucked and curled up in the back of my mind.

"How about this little man, me, you and your mom all go out and maybe around dinner time we can head back to my house and you can see everyone and play with Sawyer, how does that sound?" That is all it took " oh mommy can we please I want to meet and play with Sawyer" Adaline looked a little hesitant which made me slightly nervous. "I don't know buddy we will see" before he could protest though " that actually would be perfect, would you mind picking me up before hand I'll whip up a few more things for the hospital and I can drop them off there myself, I would like to speak with Dr. Mitchell anyways." Thank goddess for Beck "Of course that's not a problem at all, Sam will you please tell the omegas to open up two rooms on the alpha level for Rebecka and Adaline, James can bunk in with Sawyer I'm sure they both will love that plus his room is big enough for 10 kids." James was practically pulling us out the door at this point. "You got it boss, I'll also arrange a meeting with your parents, my parents and us, should I add Rebecka and Adaline as well?" Sam asked as he was packing the car up and taking out his phone to call my dad most likely, "Yes this involves both of them as well." For certain Adaline but hopefully Beck will know something about my dream or at least a way to figure out what "War" is coming.

After we got James' carseat all strapped in Adaline and I climbed in next, her in the middle and me behind the drivers seat. "Okay little man where too?" He was bouncing in his seat "Sweets I want to start at Sweets first please I want one of mommy's cookies, then can we go to the park please?" The park that actually may be the best place for us to talk its open there's not many prying eyes or ears. "Okay to Sweets then to the park, gentlemen you heard the little dude let's do this!" I'll have to get these guys some coffee I know are for sure exhausted. "Yes Alpha" of course Stefan would do that here. We pulled up to a cute little bakery about 5 minutes from the house, I don't think even in wolf form I will ever be able to keep up with James he's faster than any toddler I have ever seen, he made it into the bakery before Adaline or I were even fully out of the car.

There was a man and woman behind the counter, they were both around the same age maybe mid 50s the woman was short long black hair with bright green eyes and olive skin. The man a bit taller but not much looked almost the same but he had dark brown eyes and his hair was starting to grey a bit. The woman handing over a cookie and laughing at James. "James what did I tell you about running that far ahead of me?" They both beamed at Adaline like she was their own pride and joy, my goddess this woman had practically everyone wrapped around her, she will definitely be an amazing luna. " Did you say thank you to Mia?" James chowed on the cookie and nodded " Hey Mia, hey George how is the shop doing today? Need anything specific?" George stepped around to hug Adaline, I had to fight myself to not growl as they are human. " Good morning Adaline the shop is doing just fine as always, however we did run out of all of the pies you made, they sell like crazy you know" Mia was around next to hug her " when will you be back in to make some more, the usuals keep asking when to come get some" Mia asked and laughed. I am going to have to figure out how to allow her to still be able to bake for Beck it seems really important.

"Monday morning I'll be in again to get some made up, thank you again for his cookie and could I get a strawberry turnover please with a small caramel coffee please?" Mia was behind the counter again "Of course I was already starting your order before I got James his cookie" which was now completely gone, "What about you Barrett, what would you like, oh George, Mia this is Barrett he lives a bit away so James wanted to bring him in." Her smile will be the death of me. " Hello son it is nice to meet you" George and Mia smiled at me and slightly bowed their heads, my eyes went wide and Adaline looked to me for an answer all I could do was shrug, did they know? How? " Uhm morning and it is nice to meet you as well" They smile and Mia whispered "Don't worry alpha we knew your father and your secret is safe" well I sure will be asking dad about this. "Okay and thank you, since the pie is gone I'll settle for a strawberry turnover and could I get a small coffee and two large coffees and two chocolate muffins as well please?" After getting everything and settled at a table I brought the muffins and coffee out to Stefan and Elliot. It's time to start getting to know two of the most import people in my life, with that Shaw wagged his tail and we headed back inside.
