Chapter 38

Adaline's POV

I woke up to tingles all over my back as Barrett rubbed up and down. "Good Morning", I heard his sleepy, gruffy voice in my head. "I dont think I will ever get used to hearing you in my mind". I giggled out. "You wont have a choice because now that we are marked I will be doing this all the time." I hopped out of bed so fast, "Adaline? What's wrong?" I heard him frantic as I ran to the bathroom. His footsteps were running behind mine. "Nothing" I shouted back, as I looked at myself in the mirror. I crane my neck slightly to see a blue and silver crescent moon mark on my neck. I rubbed my fingers over it in awe. "What does yours look like" I asked, as I was trying to stand and see Barrett's "the same as yours, just slightly bigger." I rubbed his as well, he moaned slightly, his eyes going between midnight and his blue.

We heard a knock at our door. "Come in", I shouted from the bathroom. As we walked out, it was Rachel and David walking in. "Good morning" they both said, Barrett and I returned the same. "Adaline, today we will have some visitors from the Red Moon pack. These are the visitors that we wanted to wait until you shifted and marked to come." I nodded "why is it so important that we waited." Rachel looked at David as a plea almost "we want to tell you but we were all sworn to keep this a secret until this moment. Just know it was for the better and that everything will in fact be okay." I felt really nervous at that and grabbed Barrett's hand, "I don't know but something is making me feel really strange." I really don't like this. "It is okay Adaline, this is a good thing it is just important that you know to brace yourself." Damn does everyone know?

"Let's get downstairs and get some breakfast, they will arrive shortly after." Rachel led us out of the room down the long hall and stairs to their dining hall. It was magnificently decorated in silver and gold. Not as big as Barrett's but still stunning, and busing with people. As we entered, everyone stopped and bowed, then continued eating. I saw James off the far right with my aunt, uncle Barretts' parents and the rest of his crew, eating and laughing next to Sawyer and Lilly. We followed Rachel over "food is served here, it just makes it faster and easier for the omegas to get everything out and cleaned up. Once we got settled three other wolves came with plates for us, one older wolf stopped and stared at me with tears in her eyes, "welcome home." She bowed and left, "that was Tilly, she was great friends with nana and papa as well as one of the ones to watch over all of us as we played here."

"Remind me to find her later, I would love to speak with her." They all smiled and nodded. I tried to eat and keep my mind off things, but I began to feel antsy and Selena was pacing in my mind. "What's up, Selena, your making me really nervous." She sighed "They are close and I can't seem to settle, I know it will be okay but I am also very nervous." Thats defininetly not helping. Barrett grabbed my hand and I noticed David staring intently at me. "It's not going to work David, even Selena is super antsy." I noticed everyone from this pack's faces at the table turn somber and a little sad. Once we finished, Rachel led us outside but placed us behind Oliver and Emily slightly and to the right. Three large black SUVs pulled in and Chelsea came out holding James. I tensed at that, "I think he should be here too." Was all she said, okay something is really making me feel off about this. My new senses picked up as the doors opened a gorgeous redhead stepped out. She was tall and lean, but something smelt off, she had two scents mixed with her. "She is pregnant, newly pregnant though." Oh that's awesome! Then the passenger door opened. I dropped to my knees. I couldnt believe who was getting out of the car. I couldnt help but the tears that came. Uncontrollably. Barrett was shaking my shoulders trying to get me to breathe. THIS CANT BE REAL!
