What he could hear settled him quickly, the strong cadence of Rainbird’s heartbeat and his regular breathing. Iseoy frowned. Both were very close, as was the man’s scent. “Heavy.” A gentle push alerted Iseoy to the fact that the softness beneath him was Rainbird himself. “Sorry.” Iseoy rolled off, immediately missing the warmth of the other man’s body. “What happened? The lights, the noise. So bright and loud.” “You were too open.” Rainbird groaned as he moved. “There was a trapdoor. I tried to catch you. I succeeded, but then the floor beneath me opened, too. We slid down, then dropped into here. You landed on me and I blacked out.” “Odebi. I should have been
