Chapter 5At the insistent voice of the AI, Iseoy opened an eye. He wasn’t due to be on duty for another ninety increments, and he wondered just what would result in him being recalled sooner. Then he jumped up from his bed on hearing the call for Rainbird to also present himself on the bridge.
A few increments later, and Iseoy emerged on the bridge. Rainbird was already there, standing beside Arvid and all the crew’s attention was on the front screen, filled by a craft the likes of which Iseoy had never before seen.
“Our scanners picked this up, Lieutenant.” Arvid indicated the screen. “It’s apparently lifeless, although one can never be certain.”
