CHAPTER 2: OUR MATE

1691 Words
AMERY'S POV Disheveled hair, tear stained cheeks and a raging beast inside me. I balled my fists, sending death glares at Sean's front door like it could feel it. Unluckily for him, he was nowhere to be found at school. Taking my suspension into good use, I stormed out of the school and headed straight to his house, ready to break down the door and confront him. A sigh escaped my lips as I stared at the door again. Behind those doors were the man I used to love with all of my heart. The man that broke me and turned me into the anger driven monster I was slowly becoming. Without any more hesitation, I kicked the front door and stepped in. Typical Sean. Leaving the front door open whenever he was home. Getting the confirmation about his whereabouts I needed, I stormed upstairs, heading straight to his room. I knew him well. At least, well enough to know the only place he was going to keep shut in the house was his room's door. It was just as expected and I without hesitation, kicked the door to his room open. Except I didn't get what I was expecting. He wasn't lazing around as he usually did on days he skipped school. His legs weren't stretched on the bed with nothing but his game console in his hands and a huge bowl of popcorn by his side. Instead, his legs were intertwined with Natasha's, his hands all over her, the majority of their clothing littered on the other side of the bed. "Natasha?" I felt every will and desire to confront them suddenly disappear from my body. I suddenly felt weak, the sight of them eating each other took away my every strength and in the long run, my sanity. Every single doubt in my mind disappeared, making me realize how much a part of me was still hoping it was all a lie. It wasn't a lie. Both my best friend and boyfriend were both animals. How could they be so heartless and cruel? How could they care about nothing but themselves and not even hesitate to break me apart? "Sean?" I didn't need any more explanation. I had gotten more than enough already. The sight in front of me was more than enough proof. "Oh my God, Amery." I watched them uselessly get off each other on realizing they had an intruder. All I could do was shake my head at them though, before finally turning to leave the room. "Amery, please wait. f**k!" Ignoring both their pleas, I left his room and walked downstairs. I could hear them as they struggled to put their clothes back on, both of them muttering curse words as they did. "Amery, please wait up," Sean said, grabbing me by the arm to stop me from walking. "Wait and listen to me, please." "Fine, I'm listening," I took myself by surprise by even trying to give him a listening ear. "Go ahead." He seemed just as surprised as he took a while to collect himself before replying. "Amery, it's all a misunderstanding." "A misunderstanding?" I laughed. "It's all a misunderstanding? Everything I saw? Tell me, what part of it is a misunderstanding? The part that you cheated on me or the part of you doing it with my best friend?" "Amery, we-" "I don't want to hear it," I cut him off, spotting Natasha on her way towards me. "Just go back to her. Just go." "Amery, wait-" "Leave me alone!" I cried out. "Leave me the f**k alone, you traitors!" Spotting Natasha almost by my side, I took to my heels and ran out of the house. I was hurting already and seeing her face was only going to bring more hurt to me, I didn't want to see it. Ignoring their calls, I dashed out of the house and took to the road, heading to nowhere in particular. All I knew was I needed to get away from them. As far as possible away from them. I finally reached my peak after running for a while, tears finally began to roll down my cheeks. I had no intention of stopping it, having the tears freely flood my face until I felt a tad bit better. The pain was still there but after crying and running for what seemed to be hours, I was finally able to calm myself down. Letting out a deep exhale, I crouched on the floor and finally gave my surroundings a good look. After running for so long with nowhere in particular in mind, I found myself truly in the middle of nowhere. Slowly, I returned to my feet and looked around me again. Just how long and how far did I run? Wherever I was, was a very unfamiliar place. All I could spot were bushes and trees, fear gripping me as I realize I was indeed in the woods. Lost in the woods. I felt an ache make its way to my head. Not only did I manage to get my heart broken twice in a day, I had also managed to get lost. A sigh escaped my lips as I looked around me again. No matter how much I tried, my surroundings still looked unfamiliar. I let out a grunt and just as I was about to take a gamble on what direction to head next, I heard a deep growl, stopping all my senses for a while. It wasn't a normal sound but a loud one that sounded so similar to a predator. Immediately gripped with fear, I froze in my tracks, not daring to move. The growl came again and this time, I shivered. I could hear it so loudly and clearly. Like it was right next to me. Confirming my guess, I heard heavy footsteps behind. I could feel my palms get sweaty, my heart beat quickening as the sound got even closer. A sudden confidence overwhelmed me, making me take myself by surprise by turning to see whatever was behind me. Slowly and with deep breaths, I turned around to immediately spot a white wolf growling behind me. A gasp escaped my lips as I stared directly into the eyes of the oddly familiar looking wolf. It looked familiar. So familiar that all it took was a second glance for me to remember where I'd seen it from. It was the exact same wolf from my dreams. Except that I was no longer dreaming and it was right in front of me. It wasn't a dream. There was a wolf right in front of me. Acting on my immediate instincts, I took to my heels and began running, again with nowhere in particular in mind. All I knew was I needed to get away from the animal in front of me. Fast at that. Just as I began running, the wolf joined in and began to chase me. At that moment, I felt fear overwhelm as I ran as fast as I could, uselessly trying to get away from it. It was going to prove a bit harder than I thought as the wolf chasing me suddenly increased in number, terrifying me even more. Not one, not two, but three wolves were after me. It was just like the dream I had except that instead of fighting each other, they were all collectively chasing me. It had to be a dream. It just had to all be a dream. I continued running from them as fast as I could, my whole attention being on the not so clear path in front of me. I was so focused on getting away to the point of not realizing there was a huge rock in front of me, making me immediately trip and fall. A light wince escaped my lips as I felt my leg crash on the rock, my whole body falling hard to the ground. Weak and exhausted, I allowed my body freely hit the ground brutally, my eyes immediately fluttering shut and slowly enveloping me in nothing but darkness. ** I felt my nose itch at an unfamiliar yet intoxicating scent. It felt strange. Though my eyes were shut, my whole body not in motion, I felt myself moving. With furrowed eyebrows, I shut my eyes even tighter in a failed attempt to understand what was going on. It felt like I was still moving, drifting me to my last bits of memories before I lost consciousness. I was being chased. By three wolves. Immediately, my eyes flew open to realize my whole body was pressed against a man's warm bare chest, his muscles bulging. I immediately felt terrified and tried to get myself down, only for him to tighten his grip around my whole body. "W-who are you? W-where am I?" I felt myself stop moving as he paused to finally do me the favor of answering my question. With an irritated sigh, he tilted his head to look at me, having my eyes meet the most beautiful set of grey eyes I'd ever seen. I swallowed, unable to stop myself from shamelessly checking him out. He was attractive, I couldn't deny. The type that made you forget your surroundings for a while as you stared at just him. With white hair that fell to his face and cold grey eyes that lacked emotion yet looked stunning as he stared at me. He pulled me closer to him, showing off his well-built arm and features, then growled out. "You're my mate." "What?" I blurted out, utterly confused by what he meant. "Your m- mate?" "Come on, Levi," I heard another man say, making me realize we had company. Not just one but two bare chested men walking next to us, their tight toned abs on display. "She isn't just your mate. She's our mate." A light chuckle escaped my lips as I shut my eyes and snuggled towards the good-looking man carrying me in his arms. It made no sense. They were making no sense. Of course, it was just another dream of mine. Another utterly ridiculous dream.
