Life became easier for them. They could start planting and they have fish to eat. Wild animals also went to their forest, easy meat for them to hunt. The trees bear fruits that never happened before.
White Fang was so thankful. They felt blessed for their arrival. The Goddess really helped them because of her. Because if not, they will be still suffering from all their wrong deeds.
White Fang didn't have any questions about what they had decided. Angelique was right. They couldn't trust their own race. They were all greedy and jealous. Like them, before they were punished.
The next day, Angelique and the kids prepared all their needs before going to Guslar. Angelique chose to bring Clark with her while Kimberly will be the charge of the other kids.
They won't bring many things, just three pieces of small gold and a sack where they can put the things they will buy later. They also brought knives for their protection but they will leave them later in the forest. Knives were not allowed in public places in Guslar.
“We will go now,” she informed and looked at Kimberly. “Take care of them. If something happens, run to the Central. They will help you.” Kimberly nodded. She already knew that but she respected Angelique and she was just looking after them. Maybe, they were not family by blood but the bond they formed was for a real family.
“Please, take care,” Pink spoke for the first time. She got trauma because of the attack and now, she was going back to the way she used to be.
Angelique was touched. She caressed the young girl's head and nodded. She knew she was trying and she appreciated that.
They just nodded as their goodbye, then they walked to the forest. No one talked because Angelique didn't have the mood to speak. Even Clark was silent because he was sensing their surroundings.
Angelique already knew some of her capabilities. She can hear even after five kilometers, she can smell even a drop of blood, she can see the distance, and she is strong. She’s different from other Lycan according to Serio.
Serio helped her in controlling her urge to hunt and eat some flesh, even her own race. She was a newly transformed werewolf and they understood it was hard for a werewolf to adopt the new her, specifically she was not born as a werewolf or knew her origin.
They were nearer to the border, but the trees were too thick that they could not pass through. They chose to walk the other way, which was easier even though it was near the neighborhood pack.
But as they were near the border, a smell of blood stained the air. It was so sweet but also disgusting for Angelique. Maybe her instinct told her to hunt it, but she had full control of herself. She didn't have a werewolf inside her that will argue.
She stopped and looked in the direction where the smell was coming from. It was from the border of the Blood Rose Stone Pack. Angelique got a bad feeling about it.
“Clark, stay here. I’m going to check where the smell of blood is coming from,” she said. But Clark held her clothes, stopping her from making an impulsive decision.
“You don’t know how to fight.”
“I know what I'm doing. Just stay here and hide,” Angelique said, with no room for argument. Clark didn't say anything but hid in a safer place.
Angelique learned something from the book, her grandfather gave her. She couldn't control it yet, but she can for a few minutes. It is to hide her scent and presence. It was enough time for her to have a look. She also used to sneak out when she was human, there was no problem if she did it again.
She concentrated until she felt that she did hide her scent. It took a lot of concentration and strength to do it.
She didn't have much time, so she swiftly walked to where the noise was coming from. She was at the border of White Fang Pack, hiding on a big tree, and she could see what was happening.
Her mouth agape when she saw what was going on. She saw two crying kids that were held by a Lycan, a man being man-handled by the other two, and a woman being molested by a bearded man along with their watcher. She assumed they were a family from the Blood Rose Stone Pack and seven warriors of Lycans.
While seeing them, she couldn't contain herself. Rage boiled inside her heart. She wanted to kill them all. The expression on her face darkens and ready to kill. Her hand trembled because of anger.
She only has a few more minutes before they will find her. She needed to do something.
Angelique looked around, searching for a thing she could use. All she could see was stone. She knew she could use it like how she helped the kids before.
She collected some and put them in one place. She looked at them and calculated the attack she will make. When she was done, she took one stone. She adjusted her strength, a strength that can kill.
However, before she could throw the stone, another man showed up. Her eyebrows knitted when she saw him. She thought that she knew this man when she was still human.
“What a nuisance,” he said and without further ado, he attacked them.
Angelique was amazed because she saw a great fighter. He was good and he easily killed three of them. She never thought that he was capable of fighting. She knew he was old, but maybe cosmetics really helped him. Werewolves get old really slow.
Yet, having skills in fighting was not enough when there were many opponents. He needed her help.
Just like what she planned, she did it. She threw the rock and one of the guys was hit on the head. It really bled and he fell down, dead.
She saw how they stopped and their eyes got wider. Their leader got furious.
“Looked for the man who threw it. Kill him!” he demanded.
But before they could search for Angelique, another stone flew to them and another man fell down. Only the two of them left, the man who was making the woman his shield and the leader who was hiding on his man. Angelique wanted to laugh.
“What a coward!" she softly said. But she knew they heard them.
“Yes, they are,” the guy who helped the family said. His eyes color bright indicating that he was ready to attack.
“Let us go, or I will kill this woman." The Lycan has the nerve to threaten them.
The man just smirked.
Angelique knew that the Lycan will kill the woman if her friend will attack them. So, she needs to do something. She took a small stone, like a bullet, she flicked it and it flew on the shoulder of the hostage-taker.
He was surprised that he let go of the woman. Her friend didn't think twice and attacked the remaining Lycans. He easily killed them with his claw.
Blood was everywhere but the family was already safe.
“Are you alright?” he asked them.
“You’re a Lycan too,” instead of answering, the woman cowers and tried to run.
“Don’t be afraid. I'm not one of them. I am a lone wolf now. I'm a friend." With a smile, he tried to convince them.
The family couldn't help but believe him, after all, he helped them. Her husband was already in bad condition and if they stayed any longer, they might die when another Lycan comes.
“Yes, friend." A voice said on another side of the road said. They were startled but when they saw a chubby woman leaning on the tree. They felt safe.
“A-Angelique?” Not so sure, the guy shattered. But when he was sure it was the girl he was looking for. He cried. “You are alive.”
“Yeah, and kicking," she added like it was nothing. “I know you have many questions… like I do. But for now, let's go before they will find out that their comrades were missing.”
They all agreed. The helpful guy helped the vegetable man while the woman held her children’s hand.
They walked to where Angelique was. But the woman hesitated when she saw where they were going.
“The White Fang will be mad if we go inside their territory.” The woman was so worried. She didn't want another attack to happen to them.
“Don’t worry about that," she said as she walked to where they came from.
She held a stack of soil and scattered it on the land where there was a blood drop. She made sure it was covered, even the smell before she poured some sap. She always brought it in case of any emergency.
“Just follow my trail."
They followed her trail until they saw a boy waiting for them. The children were so delighted when they saw him
“Clark!" they screamed. Clark didn't say their name but hugged the kids. He also mouthed thank you to Angelique.
“You should thank him, not me." She pointed to the man who was carrying the father. Clark did as she said.
“Thank you!" he said and the man smiled.
“What’s the matter? We felt something in distress that’s why we ran here." Two men came in, just in time. They both looked at the family and they felt sorry for them.
“Please, help them. They were in my pack.” What Clark said, added sympathy to what they felt.
“Okay,” there is no problem for them to help. After all, they were also healers.
“Just take them, we won't come. I will continue my purpose for why I went here. Please, help them and bring Clark back." Angelique looked at Clark who wanted to protest. “I have Uncle with me. He was with humans before. He knew more things and we can bring more.”
To what she said. They all agreed. She was right to bring another man that can carry the goods and also know the human land.
They both watched them go inside the pack. The woman looked back at them and smiled.
“Thank you!” she said full of gratitude. The guy smiled while Angelique nodded.
When they were far away, Angelique turned and ready to go.
“Let's go, Uncle. I have many questions to ask you." She turned to the guy. “Or should I say, grandpa?"
