At the hill, two people were trying to get a skateboard off a tree branch. Both of them struggled to do the task they were doing. Lucas was struggling to reach for the board while Michael was gritting his teeth trying his best to hold onto Lucas to secure him.
"Dude, hurry up!"
Lucas could hear Michael complaining about him being so slow, 'How am I supposed to get the board when the length of his arms couldn't reach it?!'
Lucas let out a frustrated growl, "Hold me tight." as he said that to Michael, he went on and stretched his body together with his arm. He finally touched the tip of the board which made him exclaim.
Michael, who saw this, urged Lucas to hold on to the board tight.
Lucas pinched it with his fingers and slowly got it off the branch... but things don't always go as planned.
One of the skateboard wheels got caught up by a twig, Lucas did not notice this so he continued to pull the board towards him.
Before they could breathe a sigh of relief the board slipped out from Lucas's hands and fell down the steep terrain. Lucas unconsciously leaned his body forward and it was too late when he realized they were about to fall down.
As if in slow motion, both friends made eye contact with only one thought in their minds.
"Sh*t."
Lucas tried to grab something to stop them from rolling down but his hands couldn't find anything to hold on to.
They rolled down the forest floor which was thankfully covered in thick dried leaves. It wasn't long until they fully came to a stop.
Both of them looked at each other and laughter echoed through the quiet forest. Lucas and Michael stood up from the ground and started searching for Lucas's missing board.
After 15 minutes of searching...
"Where'd your board went?" Michael asked, when he received no reply from Lucas he looked behind and saw he was already alone.
"Did that i***t just left me here?!" He said loudly, disbelief was evident from his voice.
Michael decided to trace his steps in hopes he would come across Lucas on his way.
Meanwhile, the i***t who left him just realized he had walked far away from his friend. He stopped and stood in his place to look around.
'This must be the Silvercrest Pack...'
Lucas wanted to find Michael and his board as soon as possible so they could leave, he did not want to think about the consequences they would receive for trespassing.
The territory they were currently on belonged to one of the neighboring packs around their area, the Silvercrest Pack, the pack is known for its strength.
Someone who said he visited the Silvercrest Pack had mentioned that they had strict rules to follow and that they were required to train 3 to 4 days a week sometimes it would reach 6 days of training. They even mentioned the training method being hard and harsh.
Not much is actually known about the pack as they rarely join and engage in gatherings and parties.
SNAP!
Lucas whipped his head towards the direction where he heard a twig snap. He sniffed the air wanting to know if it was Michael.
'A bear.'
He froze on his spot as he saw the enormous brown bear not too far away from him. It had its back facing Lucas and it seemed to be sniffing something on its paws.
Lucas wanted to get away from it as far away as possible as he did not want to engage himself in a fight with the bear.
'Why not?' his wolf asked.
'Because I don't want to shift here and I don't want to kill it.' hearing his reply his wolf produced a disappointed sound.
He sharpened his senses and became alert when he saw the bear turn towards his direction. At that moment, Lucas vision zoomed in on the thing the bear was holding.
'Hey look it's your board!' His wolf exclaimed.
'I know.' He continued to observe the bear hoping it would put the board down and walk away from it.
But when it opened its mouth revealing its sharp canines, Lucas ran towards it.
'Oh no, no, no' Without thinking he shifted into his beautiful wolf ripping his clothes in the process. The bear was startled when Lucas started sprinting towards him.
Seeing a rival the bear became agitated and started to growl and threaten Lucas.
Lucas quickly but carefully grabbed his board from the bear and ran away far from it. The bear was angry at the wolf who stole its snack and so he immediately ran after Lucas.
'I hope no one is near us.'
There was a reason why Lucas did not want to shift. First, it was their territory, and second, being in their wolf form enhances their scents a hundredfold which means someone will differently smell them.
Lucas ran as fast as his legs could take him. The bear was completely left behind but Lucas still continued to run.
He turned his head behind to check if the bear had caught up to him which was a mistake on his part. He was not looking at his path which caused him to trip. His jaw loosened which caused the board to be flung away.
The main cause? A protruding tree root on the ground.
He had not expected the events to turn out like this. 'Why am I so unlucky today?'
THUD!
"Alpha are you okay?"
"A skateboard??"
"Check the perimeters. Someone's close." A deep commanding voice was heard.
As if on cue, another unlucky encounter made its way to Lucas.
He slowly stood up and felt a sharp jolt of pain from one of his hind legs. Lucas who was left with no choice decided to sit and wait for his leg to heal. At this point, he did not mind anymore if they captured him.
'There is no point at fighting back anyway, I'd still lose.'
Lucas felt his wolf getting anxious. 'Why are you so anxious?'
'I'm not anxious... In fact, I'm excited!' Lucas couldn't grasp what was happening to his wolf.
'Why?'
'He's here.' came the short reply from his wolf.
'Who's here?' His wolf wanted to smack Lucas if he could but decided to be more patient with his human. Lucas wanted to inquire more but the word he heard from his wolf made his mind go blank.
'Mate.'
"Found you..."
