"No. You're lying," I whisper, my heart sinking to the pit of my stomach. "You're lying. Tell me you're just saying that!"
Jake shakes his head. "I wish I could."
I look over at Torrance who is just starting to regain consciousness. I stand up to my feet, but almost immediately fall back down. Russ and Amelia catch me on either side and steady me.
Torrance's eyes meet mine. "Are you okay?" he asks.
