Unsettling Thirty: Ann Marie I find myself sitting in the Alpha’s office on a loveseat next to my Aunt. My mother was left in Star’s care so she wouldn’t disrupt the meeting that the Alpha requested. Sitting here surrounded by people that I know have no liking for me is very unsettling. I hear my Aunt sigh. “What are we waiting for. I need to get back to my sister.” I watch as the Alpha just stares at me with hatred. “We are not all present as of yet.” I hear his voice that brings a chill down my spine. I have a feeling that these people would like to do nothing more than kill me right here and now. I fidget a little until I feel my Aunt’s hand on my knee.
