I WOKE up in a room painted white. I glanced around and saw various medical apparatus beside me. Looking down at myself, I noticed I was wearing a hospital gown. My wrist was bandaged, and an IV was connected to me.
Recently, whenever I woke up, Ace was the first person I saw, but not today.
"Keycee, sweetheart," my mother called out as she entered the room, carrying food and fruits. She placed them on the side table and immediately hugged me, crying. "I'm so glad you're awake. I was so worried about you. You didn't wake up for two days, and I was so scared something had happened to you. Why did you do this to yourself?" She let go and looked at me.
"Because that's what Ace wanted . . ." I replied weakly. "But I didn't die, so I know he's still mad at me."
