Chapter 3

Tamara

I couldn’t believe how stupid Belladonna was, the truth was right in front of her and yet she couldn’t even see it, since childhood, they called her the moon goddesses favorite and finally it was my turn.

I lifted my hand to knock on the herbalist’s corner in the palace but I recalled that i was the new Luna or I was going to be in a couple of hours or days, I didn’t have to knock for anyone. A smile crossed my lips as I pushed the door knob open, The herbalist looked up from where she sat, mixing some potions, displease coated in her features.

She looked like she wanted to say something unpleasant but changed her mind. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“The alpha has commanded the children of Belladonna be aborted this instant.” I said with authority and power. “I’m very sure you already heard of the news about her cheating on him and having bastard babies.”

The herbalist looked to her table sadly but nodded. “Yes, I heard, I will just confirm this information from the alpha and—“

“Are you saying I’m lying?” I glared at her, anger evident in my voice. “Did you not hear the full news?” she didn’t look scared, I guessed the people I paid to spread the news didn’t spread all of it, crazy bastards took my coins like that.

“I heard the news, Miss Tamara but—“

“It’s Luna Tamara now.” I held my chin high and I wish I could capture the shock she had on her face and paste it on the wall in my chambers. “I am the new Luna of the moonlight pack, it would be made public in some hours or days but I trust it would be in your best interest to address me properly.”

She took in a deep breath before looking up. “Alright, Luna Tamara, like I said, I can’t perform any thing on Miss Belladonna until I have the direct order from the alpha.”

I frowned, I couldn’t let her meet him, I wasn’t lying about it but I heard of the condition he gave her and I had convinced him to order for her babies to be removed because she would never do it herself and that would be the only way to kill down the rumors or the enemies of our pack would see that as a loophole, he agreed but it took lots of convincing and I knew for a fact that if the herbalist met with him, she would try to convince him otherwise and he was going to succumb.

“It wasn’t a suggestion, it’s an order, Do you understand? You can ask him after the bastards have been successfully removed.”

She swallowed and nodded, she had her doubts but she knew better. “Yes, Luna.”

“One more thing I want you to do but this must stay between us.” I crossed my arms and walked closer to her in slow calculated steps, She didn’t exactly look pleased but that was her score to settle, when I was directly next to her, I bent down to her ear and whispered. “I need you to—“

She gasped, pulling away from me. “I am sorry, Miss, but I can never do such a thing.”

“Are you scared about getting caught?” I smiled a little, trying to reassure her. “I can guarantee you that you would never get implicated. I will Make sure of that.”

“It is too risky and it is also against my morals as a person, my wolf would not permit me to do such a thing, Luna.”

“Do you remember last two years when you stole books from the pack library to make dark magic potions?” I folded my arms in anger and her eyes went down, shame filling her up. “I caught you and we both know dark magic is forbidden in the moonlight pack, we also know what would happen to any wolf caught practicing dark magic.”

“Please… that was a long time ago and I just wanted to heal my son.” Tears filled her eyes and I smirked, knowing fully well I had her exactly where I wanted her.

“We aren’t so different, you and I. Now do we have an agreement?”

“Yes.” She nodded. “We do.”

“Good.”

BELLADONNA

I was injected, I remembered that at least, my body felt light but I could still feel my babies in me. That was a good thing.

I looked around immediately my eyes opened, my hands were still Tied to the bed and the herbalists were around me.

“You’re awake.” The leader said and i blinked.

“W.. what did you do to my baby?” My voice was low, too low that I doubted anyone heard it.

She gave me a sad look before turning to her helpers and whispering inaudibly to them, they looked strangely at her but nodded and exited either way.

“I’m sorry…” she stared, it looked like she was holding a lot of tears back. “You really do not deserve this, Luna Belladonna.”

My eyes went wet again. “Please, help me escape, please don’t do this, you can’t do this, they are children and they are innocent.” I shook my head profusely, tears running down my checks non-stop “I am innocent, I didn’t cheat on him, I swear it, pl… please help me escape, we can stage it and it’d be like i attacked, it will—“

“I wish I could.” She brought a needle and filled the small bottle beneath it with a liquid. “I’m really sorry, you are a good woman and do not deserve this but I must protect my family at all cost.”

She was still mixing some things, I closed my eyes, trying to connect to my wolf, trying to connect to the mood goddess, trying to connect to anyone who could help but I couldn’t feel my wolf anymore, it felt like the first shot of whatever they gave me earlier immobilized her, Oh God! My babies, more tears, my body was shaking, I could feel their fear, each one of them, it felt like they were reaching out and I couldn’t even help them.

“Please… call the Alpha, please call Hayden, he wouldn’t want you to go on with this, I need to talk to him.” She added a blue unknown potion she had brought out from her pocket.

“What is that?” I sniffed, hope filling me up.

“It’s… um, it’s a potion that helps to calm the babies down.” She smiled at me and it seemed forced but I didn’t care, it gave me hope, it was tiny but the beggar cannot be the chooser.

“Thank you for helping me, I will forever be indebted to you” I smiled and she nodded before injecting me, my body slumped immediately and I felt my eyes close, it felt like all the pain had left my body.
