Fane didn’t stop moving. He released the downed wolf and rolled just before another of the three remaining beasts would have landed on him. His speed was unlike anything Lilly had seen. And he seemed to be able to sense where his opponents were without actually having eyes on them. When he was back on his feet, Fane dove forward, slid, and rolled onto his back just as a wolf jumped over him. The alpha raked his sharp claws on the soft belly of the wolf. Blood splashed across Fane’s black fur, soaking him. He flipped himself to the right, but not before a brown wolf landed on his back. Fane didn’t go down.
