Chapter 2 Six Months Later… Johnny’s horse was doing a slow clip-clop as he rode back into Sligo, Texas, the same town where he robbed the bank. He knew he shouldn’t be here, that he was taking a chance in case he was recognized, but Sligo was his home town, and full of memories of his childhood, so it was hard to stay away. As he rode he looked around, his gaze sharp and suspicious, but no one seemed to recognize him, so he didn’t feel threatened. His gaze shifted from one thing to another, feeling the familiarity of every board, every tree, every hitching post, and every patch of dirt.
