Chapter Three The coffee machine beeps and I pour myself a fresh cup. I have been up for a couple of hours, going back and forth with Anderson through e-mail about the party photos. I am tired. I didn’t sleep well during the few hours of sleep I did get after I got home. No matter what I did, all I could do was lie there and think about Bennett. It was foolish and silly but I did it anyway. By the time I fell asleep, I dreamt about Spencer, hiding in shadows, holding her secrets close to her heart. The coffee smell helps wake me up a little.
