"The cure for apathy is memory."
Narrator's point of view
"What's happening here? Why the ground is wielding?" Abigail asked as she looked at her husband with a terrified look.
"We are in the right way." They heard Lillith. All the werewolves stood alert ready to change. But Lillith stopped them from transferring into their beast forms.
They were about hundreds of them including a few Goblins. Aillard and Orion narrowed their eyes to see the creatures who stood miles away in the woods.
Lillith's eyes widen as she felt the creatures running forward as they are ready to attack them. She couldn't utter a word as Aillard's voice boomed in the lonely woods as the werewolves shifted into their animalistic form while the Goblins started using their powers.
Caspian and Kyra growled loudly as they shifted along with their father, they were in a ready stance. Abigail has pulled away, she is protected by Maeve and Ricka. They spelt out a few mantras creating a violet circle around them.
There was a huge fog all of sudden confusing them, they felt the creatures tricking them. Abigail watched in horror as two of the wolves already fell to the ground, in a matter of seconds everyone is fighting of the creatures.
Her eyes searched for her Kyra as she fought with the monster-like creature. Her skin paled just by seeing the creature.
Aldrick snapped the neck of the ugly creature and watched in shock as the dead creature fell to the ground in ashes. They were very fast with their moments and it is impossible to catch them.
Lillith couldn't use her powers as something more powerful than her is stopping her from using her powers. She looked here and there trying to see the person but she couldn't pinpoint it. She stood there useless without feeling anything in her.
Her tongue and mouth tied down as she tried to mutter a single word. It frustrates her, she turned to Aillard but he is fighting the creature.
Orion's eyes dilated as he watched the ugly blue-skinned creature pull the heart out of the wolf. He gulped down as a cold shiver ran throughout his body as they cut the wolf into two sides in seconds with their sharp fingers.
The younger vampire never saw that before, he wasn't that powerful like his brother and he never heard of these creatures, it's like the creatures are giving the message to Warewolf world and its allies to get ready for the war.
Hundreds of werewolves were fighting against the creatures, they couldn't use their powers as quickly as they can. The Alphas felt like they were attacked by the silver, the burn of silver against their skin making it impossible to fight against the creatures.
Many wolves fell to the ground with loud thuds as their hearts were pulled out of their ribcage. The strongest warriors were laying on the grounds, Aldrick couldn't believe what he is seeing as he fought with the creatures.
He sees the sick smiles on their faces as they killed his people who are very precious to him.
All the hell stopped when they heard the powerful sound emitting throughout the forest which stopped everything making them frozen. The creatures are were to be seen.
A gasp left from Abigail as she watched Kyra laying down on the ground with blood covering her stomach. Caspian groaned as the creatures cut his skin deeply, injuring his whole arm.
Aldrick closed his eyes as he looked at the mass of dead bodies laying on the ground lifelessly. He didn't see his daughter until he heard his wife's loud cry.
He immediately rushed towards where she laid, his lycan is on the surface and it would break into hell if anything happened to her. He pulled his daughter into his lap as he checked her pulse, she is unconscious and he looked at the healing wound on her stomach.
"We need to perform the cremation," Lillith said as she looked at the dead wolves. She finally snapped out of the power which was stopping her. Aillard stood beside Lillith when he saw her fingers shaking.
"We-We don't perform cremation, we bury the body." Abigail cried as she felt the grief of losing her people. Aldrick couldn't control his wolf, Zane. His soul is crying as he watched his people's dead bodies.
"We are standing on the foreign land, we need to perform cremation as we need to send the soul to the afterlife." Cathan, the goblin said stepping forward. Everyone agreed to it as they brought the sticks and made a cremation bed laying the bodies on the bed.
Lillith and the Goblins performed the cremation which never seen in history. They all gathered around with pain and sadness.
Ayren, Hayes and Amory are at the Ravenswood territory with all the other packs. They divided into two teams as one team is in search of Roseanna and to find out about the creatures and history. While the second team is preparing for the war and Ayren with the help of Alphas and Royal Authority training the werewolves.
Everyone has this thought in their heads about the roar they heard. Lillith isn't sure about the person. She is having thoughts and she can't even smell the scent nor she can conclude what she saw, she has this particular person in her mind but she knew that the person won't ever come out of his shadows.
Aldrick held his daughter as she slept unconsciously her wound healed. She was a second away from being her heart ripped out of her by the monster.
He shuddered as he thought about that, he doesn't wanna lose any of his kids and he don't even have any idea of why these creatures are killing the werewolves.
"I never heard the roar before, nor my senses and powers froze for seconds," Aillard said standing beside Lilith. The Great Witch turned to the Vampire Prince.
"What do you mean?"
"My whole self and powers stopped before the roar. What was that? It was so powerful that the whole forest turned quiet for a while." Lillith nodded her head as she watched everyone to see if they felt anything like the Vampire Prince.
"We have to spend the night and day here," Lilith said as she watched the injured werewolves.
She walked away from everyone with Aillard following behind. Orion watched his brother walking away with Lillith, his brows frowned in confusion but he knew better so he looked away.
"What happened to you? Your hands were shaking..." Aillard asked looking at Lillith. She sat on the rock looking at the dense forest. Aillard took her hand in his and observed the white marks.
"Something overshadowed my powers, it made my skin burn for performing the cremation."
"Then why have you done it? The goblins were there do the cremation... Why hurt yourself when you know you are going to hurt..." Aillard said with serious eyes.
Lillith looked into Aillard's eyes, she can feel his concern. Aillard leaned down to check the slight marks on Lillith. Lillith allowed him to touch her.
Aillard felt his cold finger touching her cold skin, she is beautiful underneath his gaze. Lillith slightly pulled away from Aillard's touch. She doesn't want to let him know the feelings.
"The goblins cannot perform the cremation alone."Aillard pulled his finger away but observed Lillith forgetting about everything.
On the other side, Briella and Rose entered Madame Darya's palace. As they passed the guards they both felt this cold shiver run through their body. There is this uneasiness as they pass the huge courtyard.
Briella and Rose observed that there weren't any lighten lamps making the whole place dark. Briella frowned as she saw the unlighted lamps.
"Hmm... Do I have to work in the kitchen or should I go to the sleeping chambers?" Rose asked after ten minutes of walk.
"Madame Darya isn't here nor the girls. So you don't have to cook and work. Go to your sleeping chambers." Briella said as she watched the little lady stand by with runty fear on her face.
"Okay. Are you returning to your home?" Rose asked Briella as she doesn't want to be alone in this huge palace.
"No, I will be visiting the Madame's chambers and I will be staying in my chambers," Briella replied as Rose nodded her head before leaving. Briella felt the uneasiness seep in as she watched the girl leave.
"Wait, come with me to the chambers. I will be sleeping in maids chambers as there is no one here." Rose tried not to slip the heavy sign as she nodded her head.
As they started walking towards the Madame's chambers, suddenly a man or guard stepped in making Briella yelp in shock. Rose took a step back with her hand placed on her beating heart.
Rose watched as they spoke in their language, it looked as if the man is stopping Rose from going further. Briella seems to be convincing the man but he isn't ready to convince him.
Briella turned around with a sullen face "You are not allowed to the chambers, you have to return back to the maid's chambers."
"Can I wait here until you return?" Rose asked as she is not sure of returning back alone.
"No, you have to return." The man was watching her with so much hatred and something flashed a sick grin spread across his face which sent a chill in her body.
Rose didn't utter a word back as she went back to the maid's chambers. She held her hands together while walking. There is something that is bothering her. There is this aura thAT doesn't feel right.
As she moved to the farthest chambers of the palace, she opened her small room's door only to be met with darkness which isn't allowing her to see a thing.
Darkness makes her fear, she didn't step inside as she has to get a candle first. Her eyes widen as she felt the fear creep in as she watched the figure standing inside her room.
She took a step back as pain and fear started building inside her heart. Her throat feels like someone's holding it so tightly that it is difficult to breathe.
The figure let out a small chuckle when she started walking to where she came from, she wants to leave this place and need to find Briella.
Before she could run, the figure propelled her from behind which made her fall on the floor. She felt so helpless and immobile when she saw the shiny silver sword in his hand.
the figure grinned at her as she let heavy puffs of air out of her mouth. She can't die...She can't die...Not today...She doesn't want to die without any purpose or without doing anything for her birth land.
She don't want her life to be taken away on foreign land in the hands of her enemies but she knows she can not do anything now. She didn't like the grin on his face... That made her angry now, she doesn't like the filthy man in front of her who is using the sword to trace on her body.
The air around her changed, the fear which was there seconds ago is now vanishing as something more powerful is building inside her because of the change in the air.
She looked confused as the man in front of her stopped tracing the sword as he observed her face with a dark look.
"You are going to die, why do I see the raging in your eyes rather than dread?" The figure asked her as she tried to stand up. He pushed her down by knocking her knees which made her automatically fell down.
Her eyebrows frowned in rage as he took a step forward "I will finish the matters, don't make a sound as I kill you." Her front was heaving with anger.
He pulled the sword back to kill her with force. Before the sword touch her a huge black shadow came in between those two. Rose watched with wide eyes as the black figure wrapped his strong tattooed fingers around the neck of the figure who is here to kill her.
The floor beneath her started shaking because of the rage radiating from the black figure. He almost touched the tall ceiling of the palace.
Her head swiped towards the left and right as she watched those black fog coming out of everywhere. It was so dark and scary, she never watched anything like this.
Before she could face the black figure, he vanished into thin air leaving her on the floor. "Are you okay? what happened here?" She turned her head to see Briella rushing towards her.
She don't know if she has to explain to her the whole incident or not. They wanted her dead but the black figure saved her from being killed.
She wants to the reason behind her kidnap and the reason why they want to end the werewolf race. "Why? Why do you hate us? Why do you want us to be killed in your hands?" What is the reason behind attacking my people? Why? Just why?" she asked a stunned Briella.
She never used her voice here nor she raised her voice. This is the first time she lost her patience and all she wants to know is the history behind this.
