Chapter 21: Birthday Celebration Part 1

Barbie

I have been slowly getting Clarke to trust me completely, he has been the perfect boyfriend, and the spell was working, I haven't seen any side effects and that was good in my book. Clarke was getting dressed for the birthday party and I was his plus one, of course, I watched him take his meds and wouldn't say I liked it. I needed him vulnerable if I was to succeed and make him King and I, his Queen, I decided to wear this wine-red low-back flowing dress, it was a semi-formal party and I needed to look my best to impress. Clarke was wearing a red button-down shirt with back slacks, he didn't feel like wearing a suit but looked nice. We got in his car and headed to the location for the party, he was quiet like he had something on his mind and I said, "Hey, what's eating you?" He smiled and said, "Nothing, I just hope everything goes well tonight, this would be my first big party since being released from the institution."

I held his hand, kissing it because I knew I would succeed, as long as I had him vulnerable. We pulled up to the venue and the valet was parking our cars, so Clarke got out and opened my door taking my hand as we walked the red carpet. I didn't expect it to be a huge party but it seemed like it was and I was excited, seeing the cameras going off and other elites arriving, this was a dream come true for me. We walked into a grand hall and people were talking and had expensive beverages in their hands, Clark grabbed two glasses of champagne and we went over to his sister who looked very beautiful in her silver gown and tiara. I watched everyone coming in and was there, I didn't expect to see the Valmores but they were there and everyone was trying to get to know them as they were the new multi-billionaires in town.

They were bachelors, although, I heard at least two of them had live-in girlfriends and wondered why they were not mated yet. I saw King Emile and his brothers in attendance and I was in awe of it all. This will be my life once I mate with Clarke and I couldn't wait, King Barron hadn't arrived yet but people were already having a good time until a man announced Barron was on his way and we all cheered. Clarke came over to me along with his sister and Barron's son, I knew he was Polly's son as Clarke let it slip one night and I passed on that information to a dear old friend who would help me in my future endeavors. My plan was slowly coming together and once the wedding happens with Larkina, I will be ready to set it in motion. I wondered why Barron was taking forever to mark and mate her, what was holding him back?

If I could find out that secret, I would be able to use it to my advantage to force his hand, it would be risky as Barron can be ruthless when he wants to be and rules with an Iron Fist to keep his bears in line but they also respect him and his vision for Bearmore. No one will go against him so I have to be very precise when I execute my plan to get Clarke on the throne, first, I would have to get rid of Polly and Rowe, they are threats to the throne. I was brought out of my thoughts when Clarke kissed my cheek and asked, "Are you hungry, baby?" I smiled and said, "Not really," but he got up anyway because bears have a hefty appetite for s*x and food. Rowe was staring at me like he could see through me, making me uneasy but I tried to hold my ground. Polly started laughing and said, "Stop Rowe, you are scaring the girl," before Levi came over and they headed over to King Emile. Rowe leaned over to me and said, "If you hurt Clarke, I will end you myself and that is not a treat, think of it as a promise," before his girlfriend Davina walked over and he got up.

I promised to hurt him in the worse way looking at how in love he was with Davina and smiled. I knew he could never mate her because of the law but I could make her hurt him and I will set her up so his heart is ripped out. Barron finally walked in with his future Queen and the music stopped, a path was cleared for him and he slightly bowed to Alpha Ares. It was subtle and barely unrecognizable if you weren't looking for it and I found that interesting, was there more to the Valmore brothers we are missing? My cousin Esmerelda was a wolf, and I had the wolf gene but I never shifted, my mother was a witch and I had her genes and inherited her magic. However, she was a level one witch which meant only good at potions and light spells. I would have to dabble in dark magic to get stronger. and that was forbidden in Ravena and Volterra where majority of the witches live, and are headed by the grandmaster witch Queen, Marion.

Rowe

I was looking into Clarke's girlfriend at my father's request, he didn't trust her and thought there was something more going on there. I was in Dartmouth Kingdom visiting Kyan following the lead where my father claimed Clarke met her, his beta Fallon was helping me and we hit it off. He even tried to get me to name my mother but I just went with the story that she was an unknown bear who dropped me off at my father's with a note to remind him of the night they spent together. Fallon was shocked that she didn't blackmail him for money and I said, "Well, she just didn't want the spotlight." We found where Barbie was staying but nothing was left in the small apartment, I got a link from my father to return home immediately and I didn't hesitate because he was serious. I left only to find out, Roman sent his men to arrest me and Kyan wasn't having it.

When I got home, I found out why he had sent men to arrest me, he was going to torture me for the information about my mother and then have me killed to bury his secret and the rage I felt at my so-called biological father, had me seeing red for vengeance and I hope to see his head on a spike one day. I arrived at the birthday party for my father with my girlfriend at my side and I must admit, I was totally in love with her and she felt the same. She moved here from Eliva to be with me, leaving her escort job behind, I didn't care about her past, we were all adults and I was not insecure about a woman with a 'high body count' as they would say, it only meant she was experienced and knew what she wanted in a lover sexually and was able to please her man and I would do the same.

Davina was sexy and had a body to die for, I saw how everyone looked at her and I showed her off. She was mine completely in a good way as I backed away and let her have her time on the red carpet as she posed for the cameras like a model. When we walked inside, I let her do her thing and mingle with her friends as I went over to have a brief meeting about what happens when Roman arrives, Dominic couldn't be here but he sent his brother in his absence who was working in Faeora and that dragon was a crazy son-of-a-b***h. His name was Allamire, Allan for short and he turned up with two women in his arms, I smiled because he did love the ladies. My mother came over to me and we walked over to Barbie along with Uncle Clarke, he had been speaking with a few men prior, my father didn't trust her and in a sense, I could understand. There was something not right about her, and I could feel it, sense it somehow, but so far, she had come up clean.

She was good at hiding her past or she has some powerful friends on her side, but some way along the line, she will slip up and hopefully, it won't be too late. After our brief encounter, and seeing how uncomfortable she was, I smirked and left to entertain my girlfriend until I saw my father walking through the door, he was being greeted by everyone. Lark was excited and took the microphone and gave a speech before she started to sing Happy Birthday to my dad, they held each other slowly dancing as we cheered, I could see the love between them. Barron kissed her after the song finished before he blew out the candles and then King Roman said, "Happy Birthday," with a bottle in his hand smiling at Barron, we all roared. Alpha Ares nodded for us to relax and Barron walked over to him and said, "Thank you for coming, my lord, now let's get down to business," the auras in the room got stronger as if a fight was about to break out and I was ready.
