Shanaia ended up doing her residency at the New Stanford University Hospital. She chose it as that hospital sets a global standard for patient care and blends a human-centered approach to care with a focus on participating in technological advancements in every aspect of medical care delivery.
For Shanaia, it is the closest thing to their hospital when it comes to innovation. But then, she has to make sure she is deserving of her spot in that program, as her surname was the same as her school and that hospital.
And for those who knew her grandfather, her father, and her aunt, it is a much heavier burden for her to carry, to prove that she is good at her own capabilities.
