I managed to sneak out of my room while Carter was still standing outside my door to make everyone believe I was inside. It was getting harder to do my work with all the eyes always following me everywhere.
There were two guards standing in the doorway as well, they gave me confusing looks and one of them was about to start walking with me but I stopped him.
"I am just going to the kitchen."
"But we have orders…"
"No, it is completely fine," I added with a smile, "I will be back in a minute, if I am not back in five minutes then you can find me."
Both of them exchanged looks and finally agreed to let me go alone.
