“How was your day?” Killian asked, taking a bite from his ice cream bowl. “It was good,” I stared at the stars in the ceiling, taking a moment before continuing, “I talked to your mother.” Killian paused but then put a spoonful of ice cream aggressively in his mouth. When he did not say anything I decided to continue the topic further, “She really loves you and cares about you.” There was still no reply from Killian. I gave up talking about Evaline. “Why did you give me this pendant?” I changed the subject after seeing that he was taking no interest in the conversation. “Because Edor did not have anything to turn into your compass.” “No, I meant, Evaline told me the story behind this pendant and obviously it is something special. You will regret it later when you will meet the one.”
