“Did you do magic recently?” Killian asked without lifting his eyes from the page.
“Why are you asking?” I sat up straight on the bed. It was not a question I was expecting from Killian.
“Father seemed pretty upset about your ‘constant’ use of magic,” he air quoted, constant, “even though I find it extremely amusing, you need to stop pissing him off for a while.”
I let out a breath nervously, “It was just a healing spell….I got a…paper cut.”
I tried to say the first logical thing that came to my head which happened to be the paper cut.
He looked up from the paper he was reading and raised his thick brow, “What were you reading?”
