The grass itched my chest as I proned on the grassy ground behind some taller grasses, and just below the elevated road. Behind me is a rice field, so I grabbed on to some plants to stop slipping from the slope. I patiently waited for anyone to pass by this road, so I can challenge them. I need to fight different demigods other than Darius that I fought a month ago. It is spring now, and I struggled to find someone to fight because they would avoid me, and run away. I tried asking the people in the academy, but they said they are busy. Also, I can't find the others who passed the endurance test, and Philip and Sander don't have phones, so I can't contact them. I spent my whole month training and asking people to fight.
I am wearing this wooden mask that I found in the forest to conceal my identity and a red cape that I stole from the academy's curtain windows. All for intimidating people to force them to fight me. I hear footsteps coming from the left.
Alright, I will make sure that the person will fight me. I jumped into the middle of the road, and I saw a bald man with two bodyguards at his sides. The man was wearing black armor with a black cape. The armor has intricate details, so I think he is a nobleman. The guards are wearing shiny silver armors and a helmet.
"Hahahahaha!" I laughed in a big voice. "This is my territory, and you must pay the toll to proceed!" They just looked at me, unthreatened.
The bald man spoke, "Look kid, this prank of yours is ridiculous, and I am in a hurry."
They passed by me like they didn't care. I didn't wear this getup for nothing! So I ran ahead of them and stopped them from going any further.
The bald man face-palmed as he said, "Just give him ten golds... I don't have time for this." The guard on his right pulled ten gold pieces from his pocket.
"Change of mind!" I said. "For you to save your money, fight me!"
He sighed deeply. "Are you serious?"
What? Why isn't he taking this seriously? I am starting to get embarrassed. My efforts to look intimidating didn't work.
"I... I... am!" I said.
He gestured to the guard on his right to deal with me. The guard went to grab my shoulder as he said, "Alright kid, get out of the way...,"
I pushed him away in a force that he fell down five meters away from me. His armor clanked when it hit the ground. Then I put my stance.
"You bastard!" he said. "I guess talking won't make you stay away, huh?"
He charged towards me in a predictable punch, so I easily dodged it, and gently kicked his side. He fell on the ground again, that's when the other guard came to help. He carried a mace with spikes.
"Be careful," said the bald man. "you might kill him."
"Oh, I don't plan to," said the guard with a mace. "just breaking his legs would be fine."
He charged at me and swept the mace towards my feet. I jumped and he pulled his mace to prepare another strike from above. The ground blew up as I dodged. This is good, they are fighting for real.
"I told you not to kill him!" said the bald man, looking stressed.
"He didn't die, did he?" replied the guard with a mace.
I am on the edge of the road with a steep slope behind me. The two guards were surrounding me, and the bald man walked by.
"Hey!" I yelled then both of them charged at me.
The guard with the mace had pulled behind his back to strike from above. The other guard is making sure I can't get away. I can't escape.
I haven't been able to use this for a while, but, "Boom..." I released my repelling power, and they were knocked back to the other side of the road where the fell down the steep slope, taking a bath in the muddy rice field. That was supposed to tire me easily... but it didn't.
I caught up to the bald man, and I intercepted him. "You're not going any further!"
He sighed very deep, and had his hands on his waist as he said, "You should be preparing for the tournament too you know, God of Gravity."
He knows? Maybe he's bluffing... "I have no idea who is that," I said.
"I worked with a God of Gravity once, and I know that move you just pulled. Look, kid, I am really in a hurry to not avoid getting late on such an important day. After all, I am gonna be watching my own son."
Hmm... Who does he referring to? "Who is your son?"
"Philip."
"What the... Are you messing with me?"
"The way you sound, makes me think that you know him. And I swear I am not messing with you. I am Miguel Ruiz, Philip's father."
"Then why are you bald?"
"What's that got to do with me not being his dad?" he replied violently.
"Well... Philip has a good long hair, you know."
"That's because I shaved my hair!"
"Nehhhh, you can't fool me."
"Well, do what you want! I'm going ahead."
He walked past me. "Not so fast!" I said as I punched him from the back, then I realized my punch hit his knee. He's fast, and I am not sure what happened before there was a huge blast of air from his kick that he stopped right above my shoulder. I didn't see him moving, but his right leg that he used to block me almost touched my ear. I felt the air from his retrained kick, that shows his power. It would've blown my head off my shoulder. And this style of fighting, utilizing kicks, is almost like Philip's.
He pulled back and stood properly, then went to walk.
"You're Philip's dad?" I exclaimed. "I am so glad that I met you! I am Leonide Padine." I removed my mask as I chased him. "Philip is one of my best friends in the academy!"
"Oh... what a coincidence..." He just walked without turning around.
"You know, Philip is really strong, and reliable! I never would've made it through everything without him! He saved me many times during endurance training. "I just followed behind him, and I think he is listening to me. "That time when we fought a bull, his kicks dealt most of the damage to it. Oh! Also when the time when a boulder almost crushed me, he kicked it into a pile of rubble. He saved me, but my head was bleeding as hell from that debris. And the....."

Miguel is hiding his irritated face as he keeps listening to the kid's babbling behind him. The two guards soaked in mud followed behind him, and figured out everything is fine now.
He thought, "Eh... My son made a friend with an annoying little kid. The God of Gravity at that. He could've picked someone better. But this kid's not bad, beating two grownup demigod guards is something to be impressed of. No ordinary kid can do that. And that punch of his, don't tell me he knows the Dimensional Touch. If he knows, who taught him?"
"Boy," he said. "who taught you the Dimensional Touch?"
Leo stopped talking and wondered about his question. He answered, "Lord Enzo."
Miguel thought, "What? Lord Enzo taught a demigod? Uh... but wait, this kid is a god. But then Gods of Gravity are considered demigods. What could've pushed Lord Enzo to teach this boy?"
"Lord Enzo is cool, even though he is quiet, he knows a lot of things. And it makes you watch out for anything he has to say. He also-"
"I know Lord Enzo pretty well, but are you really his apprentice?"
"Yes, I am. He also has Lady Danae-"
"Are you certain?" he exclaimed.
"Yes, Lady Danae is certainly his girlfriend. He also had a hickey on his upper lips when he came down-"
"No!" he yelled while turning around to face the boy. "Are you his apprentice?"

I am confused, I thought we were talking about Lady Danae being Lord Enzo's girlfriend, so I just answered, "Yes."
He closed his eyes, smiled, and said, "He really is unpredictable," and continued to walk.
What does he mean?
"Well, God of Gravity, show me what Lord Enzo's apprentice can do. Show me your true strength at the coliseum later!"
"What? The tournament is today?"
"Didn't you know?"
"You're lying!"
"No, I am not."
"I haven't worked very hard these past few days, because I thought the tournament is gonna be held next week! What am I gonna do?"
"How should I know?"
