The Way to Become a Demigod

I woke up early in the morning to brush my teeth. I ate the food that Mom already prepared for me. I dressed up lively, golden long sleeves, and normal jeans. I fixed my hair, like Dad's. My haircut is an undercut, so I just put some styling gel on it and combed it in a back slick.

"We are such handsome men, my son...," said Dad as we looked at ourselves with pride at the mirror.

"Yeah...,"

"Promise me one thing..."

"What is it?" I asked. Maybe this is the time he will show his ultimate soft spot, because his only son is leaving the house, and he is proud that I am invited to enter the Demigod District.

He looked at me in the eyes, from my left side. He looked so serious when he said, "Don't let your butt get kicked, instead, you are gonna kick some demigod's butt!"

"What?" I said because I didn't expect that.

"WHAT What?" he yelled. "You are the son of John Padine that kicked numerous butts in the ring!"

Just so you know, my dad is not only an energetic person, but he really kicked some butts of MMA fighters in the ring. His record is 47 wins and 17 losses. He's an undisputed champion in human MMA, but in this home, he is just a pup. Mother is the alpha here.

"You said I mustn't use what you taught me to kick other kids' butt..."

"Look here son," he said as he stooped down to match my height. "It's time you forget WHAT I SAID!" He screamed and hurt my eardrums. Some of his salivae went to my face.

"Arghhhhh!!!"

"JUST IMAGINE THE WALLS OF THE DEMIGOD DISTRICT AS A HUGE RING!"

"Okay, just calm down!"

"Once you go inside, you get out, standing or BEATEN UP TO A PULP!"

"What? No-"

"Yes son, that's what happens. Either you bring a belt back, or go home crying..."

I think I get what he means so I said, "I will do my best!"

"YEAHHHHHH!"

"YEAHHHHHH!" I screamed too.

"You two!" shouted Mom from downstairs. We fell silent after hearing that.

After I ate breakfast, I finished packing up my things in my big bag. It is very heavy. I went out to start my journey. I opened the door and smelled the hot and urban environment. I think I'll miss this since I will be spending my time inside the District for quite a long time. I said my farewell to my family as they watched me go from the door, and something big came descending from the sky. I think its an eagle... Wait... No!

"Ahhhh!" I screamed as it landed on the ground and the ground shook. Everything became dusty until I can't see what kind of animal landed on the road.

"Leonide Padine, the God of Gravity?" asked a man from the smoky dust. A big wing extended and blew away the dust around it. Then it cleared up until I saw a griffin, and a man is riding on it.

"Uhh... Yes," I said. He nodded and I nodded too. He wore this silver armor, and it is shining very bright as the sun shines down upon him. By his stature, mighty face, and aura, I can say that he is a god. Yeah! The God of Griffins, Mario Monde!"

"I am Mario Monde-"

"The God of Griffins, I know! I am a big fan of yours!" Oops... I got carried away.

"I guess I didn't need to introduce myself. Anyways, I am here to help you get to the Demigod District."

"Wow! Really?"

"Yes... The King asked me to."

"Really? For me? He knows me?" I asked in happiness while I walked towards him. Oh, my gods! I was treated specially by the King!

"Not exactly, the King used his power from Olympus to whisper to me that I could pick up some demigods to the academy on my way back. I guess you're the only one so far..."

"This must be destiny!" And what does he mean that I am a demigod?

Mario found this kid a little awkward and getting too excited, but Leo cannot see the way he acts awkward right now.

He tied me up to the saddle behind him, and I looked confused.

"This is so you won't fall."

"Oh," I said, without knowing what he meant.

I got on and said goodbye to my family one more time as the large griffin prepared to fly. It was very fast, and we instantly reached the clouds in a matter of seconds.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed. "So this is what you meant!"

I can't feel my face as the air blew hard on it.

"You'll be fine, just hold tight." It took another second as we flew past the clouds.

Wow... The view is spectacular. It is like we are flying close to the puffy sea, and an island appears in front of us in the distance as the sun was on its peak. It is the view of Mt. Olympus that I love. Above us is a clear blue sky, and the wind is blowing hard against our direction. It feels good! I never felt more ALIVE!!!

"Wooooooo!" I shouted in excitement as I put my hand in the air. I feel my heart beating very fast. The fast and powerful flapping sound of the grey griffin's wings filled my ear. The smell of air up here is very fresh. The air was really nice, and this is an experience I have never experienced before! I noticed that things are getting foggy in front of us. I looked back and there was no fog.

"Why is it getting foggy at the front?" I asked.

"The air is being pushed away by his beak and head. This is Zol, he is doing it for you so you won't blow away your limbs while we are flying thrice the speed of sound."

Wow! three times the speed of sound? That's nearly one kilometer per second! We'll get to the Demigod District in a matter of a minute! I then saw an airliner ahead of us. We outflew it in no time.

"Cool!" I said. "You're cool, Zol!" I said as I patted his feather. He answered in a proud eagle scream. It was louder than the engine of that plane! I laughed in happiness as we started to descend. We came down at a faster speed.

"This is not even half of the top speed of Zol."

"YEAHHHHHH!!" I screamed. It is an indescribable feeling that I can only focus on what I am feeling now, rather than thinking about it!

We came down from the clouds in a second and finally saw the vast Demigod District. It was very beautiful! There are wide areas of tilled fields, hills, grasslands, herds of horses running freely, and big beautiful mansions! I saw the wall around it all with the foot of Mt. Olympus in the center. The rays of light lit up the fields. It is like witnessing another world! The vast area inside is divided into three just like what I saw on TV. We are on the Hades District, and the fields here are with the color of grey and mixed with some desert sand. The Zeus District is very bright in green colors, and the Poseidon District is on a huge lake. There are Mansions on it, and it looked like a floating city.

I enjoyed the view, but then Mario said, "I also came to pick you up with a warning." My mood fell down into a serious one. "Being the God of Gravity is very hard."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, you will find out sooner or later. But let me tell you another thing. You mustn't treat yourself like a god, just like how the other Gods of Gravity came before you. Here, you are a demigod, just like the rest of the people here. To become one, you must train hard."

"Why?"

"That's all I have to say. Learn to understand it as you go on and live there."

"Okay," I nodded.

We landed very softly in front of a huge silver gate. I got off and said my farewell and thank you to the bother of them. They went flying back to the sky and reached the clouds in three seconds. The sonic boom made a breeze that blew away the leaves of a tree near me.

"Wow!" I exclaimed.

I turned towards the silver gate. Everything became quiet. I stopped to look around, but no one's around. Maybe I'll just go inside. On the top of the gate, there's metalwork that says, "HADES ACADEMY OF DEMIGODS," and a pitchfork is on top of it. It says I am in the right place I ought to be.

It is already opened a little, so I entered slowly. The stone path was covered by leaves, and the grasses around it were the color of grey. I noticed just now, that the clouds above are grey too. The leaves on the ground were blown by the gentle cold breeze. I feel nervous. The building was just a couple of meters from me, looks very old.

"Hey, you!"

"Ahhhh!" I screamed as I was scared. I tried to look around, but I can't see where that came from.

"You're the God of Gravity, aren't you?"
