Not edited Katy Warmth was the only thing I was feeling inside my body. My body immediately went weak as I stared at the woman in front of me. “Are you listening to me Katy” She ushered again snapping me instantly from my reverie. Am I not dreaming? Or did I hear her wrong? “You.. Called the... My husband” I tried to remain calm as I speak but the weakness I felt made it difficult. I didn't even for once have the thought that she would call him this soon. “Yes dear. We want to make sure nothing will go wrong. By the way, why didn't you tell me it was the hot guy” Hot guy? I repeated in my head. Does the woman knows what she's blabbering about. How do I answer her when I know nothing about the fake husband of mine. “You should've told me it was Lucas Stone. You should've have hidden his surname. I would've understood” She added with a wink. Lucas Stone? I remembered scribbling John Lucas not Lucas Stone. I forced out a smile. “I Know right? I don't want to appear somehow considering how the situation is. From the very first beginning, he didn't want me to work anywhere else. So I decided to hide his surname” What a great flat lie katy! I think I'm getting myself in another trouble. What it the Lucas Stone is some powerful man who will not think twice in putting me behind bars. What if I scribble down a kidnapper number? Or maybe a loan shark? Just the thought of any of the above turning true sent shivers down my spine. What have I gotten myself into? “.... Getting a closer look at you now, you guys did look good together. But when did you two get married? There isn't any news about him getting married. Even though he hides his personal life from the media. But one way or the other, news doesn't hide forever” The only thing I could do at the moment was let out a smile. Because honestly, I know nothing of such. In fact I don't know even know who Lucas Stone is. I thought the woman will brush off the topic. However, the woman didn't blink in front of me A laughter erupt from my lips. “Yeah. It happened so sudden so we didn't let the media know” “That’s actually good. Trust me on this. My mouth is sealed. I won't tell a soul. It's a honor having the Stone family working for my company” She let out a a chuckle. My eyes almost widened when the woman reached for my hand. “You know, I won't mind you.... You know... Tell your husband a bit of....” She trailed off bursting into a fit of laughter. The new sight of her surprises me. How can someone change in less than twenty four hours? Yesterday, she was acting all bossy but today, she's all acting lively. Who is this Lucas Stone? Is he that powerful and well known? As I went back to my desk, many thought ran through my mind. What if I didn't made a good choice. What if I'm about to get myself in a huge trouble. Lucas stone. The name kind of looked familiar but I can't pinpoint where I heard the name from. I know I can get some information if I searched the web but I can't bring myself to. I don't want to regret more than I already am. Since Mrs blaydes didn't suspect anything more, I’ll just go with the flow. Nothing will go wrong katy Rest assured. With the thought, I went back to my work even though I didn't do much since my arrival. I was literally just sitting and checking papers. No even a single soul made appearance inside. Minutes went hours passed by with nothing much to do. I didn't go back to Mrs blaydes office since that discussion. If by any chance... I mentally scold myself for having that kind of thought. Like I said, nothing will go wrong and it won't. I shouldn't think too much of it. A small smile made it way out of my lips. I spare my wristwatch a glance seeing 5:20pm. I'm supposed to leave work by 5:30pm which mean I have ten minutes more. I streched out my body closing my eyes on the accord. I might not do any work but sitting down on one position is tiresome. Packing my things, I grabbed my phone and began making my way to Mrs. Bladyes office. I have to prepare myself mentally with her unending talks. I barely took two steps when Michelle appeared beside me catching me off guard. We met only in the morning. She must be feeling down standing all alone at the reception. “Hey Katy” She began. “Hi Michelle” I answered back equally. And next thing I was dragged to a corner. “Is something wrong?” I asked seeing the crease on her brows. “Why didn't you tell me your husband is Lucas Stone” “Wh-What” I almost choked from my saliva. Another problem katy. “Yes. I didn't know that piece of hotness is secretly married. As we're talking now, he's at the reception” “Yeah. It's good. What!” My smile immediately died down. “Who is at the reception?” I asked trying to be sure I heard her right. “Who else, your husband. Lucas Stone” And just like that, the weakness I once felt made it way to my body again. I held on to the desk for support. For Christ sake, what have I gotten myself Into. “Hello?? Anybody here??” Our faces snapped towards the unfamiliar voice. For the first time In my life, I was astonished. A tall man was standing few mile away from us. Clad in two pieces suit. The aura lurking around him is enough to tell you how powerful and gracious he is. I stared at him as if he's a piece of art. If to say, then I would say, he's an epitome of handsomeness but all that thought came to a halt when he finally speaks up again “I’m here for Katy. Katy trent”
