Blaze started packing his bags, the passports were ready.
He told Seraphina to go get her things together they were catching a plane.
Sera hadn't been to Brazil. She did speak Spanish though. Just not fluently. Blaze told her that most likely they would need a Portuguese translator.
She nodded. He saw that she looked nervous, she was wringing her hands together.
He took her hands and held them to his heart. " Slow, slow, slow." He said. She smiled and held his hands to her, nodding."Yes, its working." She moved to the bathroom to pack her things.
Blaze ran his hand through his hair as he turned to look for his cell phone cord.
He had it in his hand already. The car arrived and he pulled his bag behind him.
Sera was moving faster and had been carrying more than Blaze.
She was a pack horse.
They raced to the airport. Once on the plane, Blaze ordered a vodka with ice.
Sera got a water. She was trying to hydrate for the long adventure.
Blaze closed his eyes and rested his head against her shoulder, she rubbed her fingers through his thick hair. He began to snore.
They circled above Rio de Janeiro.
It was beautiful.
They landed at Galeão International Airport.
It was humid, 80 degrees.
Sera was ready to explore.
Blaze took her to their little villa on the beach.
He put the bags down and swung Sera up into his arms. He took her into the small rental.
"Honey, we are home."
She smiled up at him and kissed him fully on the lips.
He put his head down to meet her.
"This is technically our honeymoon my wife."
She agreed.
He placed her on the bed.
A bug scooted past him.
He jumped up on the bed with her, looking around for that critter.
She looked around," What is it?"
He shook his head and shivered "Spider, maybe."
He jumped when his cell phone rang.
It was his dirty commanding officer, John Beard.
"So, tomorrow I have a meeting set up for you with Carlos Nuevo. He can show you the city. Our man is supposed to be hiding out in Rio. Carlos will take you to get a car and introduce you to our confidential informant.
Call me tomorrow once you get settled, oh and congratulations on your wedding, I didn't even know you were engaged. Who's the lucky girl?"
Blaze sneered, word got around fast.
"Oh, my high-school sweetheart, Seraphina."
John Beard knew that.
He had found her car and ran her plates.
He had wondered if Blaze would tell him the truth, or spin a lie.
He was impressed that he had told him the truth.
He was pretty sure, seeing the bullet holes in Seraphina's car, that she was a witness to the shoot out that he'd had with Jason Blaze.
The girl would be used as a pawn if needed to keep Jason in line.
Blaze agreed to call him tomorrow and hung up the phone.
Blaze turned to Sera.
"Did you hear any of that conversation by chance?"
She nodded. "He knows about me. He wants to use that against you."
Sera took Blaze's hand in hers. "Do me a favor, don't try to protect me. Don't ice me out."
He nodded.
He had no intention of doing her that favor.
Sera kissed him. She pulled his shirt over his head. "It's so hot here. Let's go take a shower."
She never saw him move so fast.....
Landen and Diane...
Landen met the police officer at the office door.
He was happy that someone had finally arrived.
He showed her the bathroom with the paper towels on the floor.
They saw that the lights had been deliberately turned off.
"Hmm, looks like you have a stalker here,"said police detective Jenny Miller.
She was concerned with the fact that the caller had called several times now and seemed to be ramping up fast.
"To actually show up at the radio station, that tells me you are in danger here."
She had noticed that Landen wore a police issued vest.
She asked him about it.
He kind of lied. "A fan mailed it to me."
She nodded. "And... why would they do that Mr. Shanesy?"
He shrugged.
"You just happened to wear it tonight?" She asked, very skeptical about the fan story now.
Diane interupted. " Excuse me. I dared him to wear it, you know like a prank."
Landen nodded, "What she said!"
He pointed to Diane.
The police officer took a report and then, officer Jenny handed him her card. Call me if you can think of anything else.
Landen nodded.
Diane asked him, "When did all of this start?"
He sat down.
"Well, not too long before you came. He called me and left me feeling the heeby jeebies.
He told me some stuff about Jim Castle, a local weather guy who recently died.
He told me that Jim didn't play the game, whatever that meant."
Diane was hoping that the caller was just playing around. She had a feeling that she was sent to Landen by Sera for this very reason.
She was hoping to use the platform of the radio station to find her biological brother.
Sera was sure that Landen held the key.
She would call Sera tomorrow.
Sera and Blaze in Rio.....
Sera was in extacsy, she had never had such a juicy one.
She suckled it dry.
Blaze told her to slow down. She moaned.
Your going to get sick.
She shook her head, she wanted more.
He gave her one more papaya.
"Thank you hubby!"
Sera found her paradise here in Rio.
The fruit was so fresh and she couldn't get enough.
Blaze licked her finger, looking at her eyes.
" I want to taste some sweet fruit too."
Sera blushed at her husband's flirting.
She knew that he was insatiable.
She was enjoying her honeymoon, even if it was under these circumstances.
She knew that he would need to go to work tomorrow.
But tonight, under the moon light-with her husband there beside her, she was living her best life.
Nothing could ruin the perfect night.
Blaze jumped up off the floor to the bed. She laughed, pointing at him.
Then she saw the huge spider.
It was what locals had referred to as the Brazillian wandering spider.
Sera jumped higher than Blaze, landing in his arms.
Sera called room service and asked for help.
A nice man speaking Portuguese said. "pequena aranha."
Sera thought it meant little spider.
She was sure he was mistaken. It was not-" pequena aranha." It was "grande arahna."
The man used his bare hand and put the spider outside the window.
Sera told him to lock the window.
He laughed and turned the lock. He pointed to Blaze. "Frango!" Blaze said
"Oh, your welcome."
Sera was pretty sure that he didn't say what Blaze thought he had said.
She looked under the bed. Empty.
" Come on down, chicken!"
Blaze shook his head- no.
Sera brought him a ripe papaya. He ate it and asked for another. "See I told you they were good." He smiled at her.
"Just protect me from the grande and pequena arahna's. How am I supposed to sleep tonight?"
She said she could think of ways to tire him out.
"It is our honeymoon my lover."
He pulled her close and she tasted the papaya on his lips, she suckled his bottom lip.
Blaze was already forgetting the spider. He was pulling Sera's clothes off of her and pulling her close to his hard body.
She pushed him down on the bed and started to make love to him.
She stopped and looking at him with her eyes twinkling commanded him to remove his clothing, "Do it now!"
He said,"Yes dear, right away dear."
He stood up beside the bed and slowly stripped off his clothing, one piece at a time. He gave her a little magical strip show.
She lay on the bed as he performed for her.
He made her feel warm all over. She grabbed for him, he moved just out of reach.
She licked her lip in anticipation.
Blaze saw her look soften as her big eyes closed and her long lashes rested on her cheeks.
Blaze just stared at her, she was a master piece.
His wife with her soft, sun kissed skin and inviting, open arms.
He crawled onto the bed and hovered just over her body.
She spun her web of light and captured him to her.
They came together as one light.
Moving symbiotically.
Blaze intertwined her fingers with his, holding them above her head.
Seraphina's head tilted back as she gave herself to him. They moved together in a quiet flutter of heart beats. The fluttering rose to a gallop.
Blaze's head rose back and he arched his back forward, one last time. They both collapsed.
The quiet noises of the room began come back to their senses.
A fan running in the corner, the waves softly crashing on the beach, Blaze snoring now.
Sera cherished everything around her. She wrote it on her heart. She felt her breath become shallow as she drifted away to a peaceful slumber in paradise.
