Blaze showed Manuelo the dress and the story of his wife's death. " The girl went crazy. They said she lost her mind from the drugs she was on. She ran into the water. She died. The sharks fed on her remains, very tragic." He said.
Manuelo frowned. He had sent his men to investigate this as well. The authorities all said the same things, she was dead.
The report made its way to the US. Sera's father had read about an American who drowned. They had described his daughter. He refused to believe it.
He did not tell her mother. He would wait until Blaze told him the story from his own lips.
Sera sat back and drank a hot espresso. She listened to Landen and Diane banter. They were so funny together. Landen had some great news to tell Diane.
" Listen, I have a secret." He grinned.
" Landen tell me." Diane cried.
He looked at the women. "We just got picked up to go international. Our morning show has been syndicated. Our first stop on our world tour, wait for it girl.... Ireland!"
Diane cried out and jumped up and down. " Are you fricking kidding me?"
He clapped and laughed. They started to do an Irish jig.
Sera was so happy for them. But she was sad they were leaving her. She laughed as they danced around her.
At lunch time Sera went to her room and layed on the bed. She was so sad. She really loved her husband. She made a decision to completely let him go. She had scheduled an appointment with a divorce lawyer today.
Landen walked into her room and sat on the bed. " Listen, I'm sorry that the Blazey broke your heart. Diane and I really can't be apart from you. Can you consider coming with us over the pond, you know I need a personal assistant. One I can trust?"
Sera sat up. " That's perfect. Yes, I would love to go with you guys!"
She took an Uber to the lawyer and started the proceedings for divorce from Blaze. He would let her know when the paperwork was completed.
" Girls.... I have another surprise for you both! We are going shopping. We got clothes to buy. The show is footing all expenses. Let's go crazy!" Landen informed them.
At the end of the week they all went to the Mall and Landen insisted Sera visit one particular shop.
" Seraphina, you are in room number 5. I have a few dresses for you to try. Go wait in there," he said.
Sera walked into the small room. She looked at her thin frame in the many mirrors inside. She was still very sad. A woman approached, she knocked on the door. Sera opened the door and saw a beautiful green shirt and blazer. She took the outfit and touched the womans hand as she did.
" Mother, you shouldn't be here. I'm in hiding from the South American mafia drug lord." She had thick tears streaming down her face as she spoke.
Her mother took her into her arms. " I have missed you too my girl." They held eachother and silently cried. "Where's daddy, is he behind door number 2?" She looked around.
" No your father couldn't make it, sorry love."
Sera whispered to her all about her adventures she told her about her wedding. Her time in Brazil. Her fake death.
Carol Haven saw something that Seraphina did not tell her. She was very sad. " Child, what is wrong?"
" Oh mother, I made a huge mess. I tricked Blaze with my gift to love me. I was so wrong. I have to undo it. I have to let him go.
Mother when Blaze comes looking for me I need you to give him something for me. Let him decide. I had divorce papers made up. I am sending them to you and daddy, make sure that he gets them, please."
" Sera, are you sure about this. I think he loves you. He wants this marraige to work."
Sera kissed her mother goodbye. "We are off to Europe this week mother. It will be a nice distraction for me. Time to try and rid myself of this gift. I need to find me again."
Carol nodded. " As you wish my love." she kissed her cheek.
" Don't be surprised if you find that you already know yourself. You were never lost at all."
Sera thought about all of the things her mother told her. She kept them in her heart.
It was time for her flight. Landen had a private jet waiting for them. Sera lugged Landen's bags and her own. She insisted on being a real assistant.
Landen live streamed his adventures on his social media. He included Sera and Diane.
Sera was not recognizable any more. She had a short pink hair cut and wore purple contacts. She went by the stage name Finny. Landen insisted.
She loved being a new person. She waved at his audience as he quickly panned over her as she took her seat on the plane.
The flight took off. Once they reached 30,000 feet, the captain assured them, they could walk around the plane.
One of the flight crew sat next to Sera. He removed his face mask that he had been wearing while on the plane.
" Daddy! How did you get here?"
Silver Haven MD hugged his girl and sat her on his lap. He kissed her cheeks tasting her tears as she held onto her daddy.
They sat quietly not speaking for a long time.
" I kind if like your new look. It's edgy." He smiled.
She ran her hand through her short hair cut. " It feels so good and look"... she ran her hand through her hair and pulled the front section to the side. It hung over her eye. "Oh, and this one"....she shook her hand and messed up her hair. It looked punk rock now. Haven nodded. "Yes that looks cool." He said.
" Daddy are you going to Ireland with us?"
He smiled," Yes Landen invited me to come. He said that you needed an assistant. I'm the assistant to the assistant."
Sera relaxed into his arms. She touched his shirt as she had done so as a little girl. She drifted off to sleep. He rubbed her hair and smiled.
His baby was back. She came back to him. He wondered what she had been through. He needed to protect her.
Blaze was deep in the jungle. He was running for his life. Helen had gotten them out just as the whole compound had exploded with gun fire. It was all out war. The two drug lords, Manuelo and Oscar were engaged in a battle to destroy each other.
Helen had started that war. She was ready to go home. She would get Blaze out alive. Leo had recently flown back to the states and was already on another assignment in New York.
He had paid a little visit to the police commissioner in Seattle, Washington.
He handed over the evidence needed to connect the crooked John Beard to Manuelo's operation.
Jason Blaze was slated to be promoted as Leo had explained what an intrical part he had played in taking the dirty police CO down.
When Blaze finally arrived home in Seattle, he was approached by the CIA. Leo tried to recruit him.
Leo knew that Blaze had what it took to be a good agent for the Central intelligence agency.
Blaze declined the offer. He turned in his badge. He had only one mission now. He had to find his dead wife and bring her back to him warm and alive.
Blaze road his motorcycle to Sera's parents home. He knocked on the door.
" Blaze! Come in, Sera said to expect you. It's been months. I thought maybe she was wrong, but here you are."
He looked around." Where is my little wife at?"
Carol asked him to come in. She brought him a cold beer.
" Sera is not here. She asked me to give you this though."
She handed him a manilla envelope. She walked outside to the back deck, leaving him alone.
" Divorce papers!" He growled.
" That little minx. She's divorcing me?" He yelled.
He stormed out to the back deck. "Carol, where the hell is she?"
Carol shrugged. " I don't exactly know. Blaze, she thinks she tricked you into the marraige.
She thinks she used her gift to trap you into loving her. She is giving you your freedom.
She wants to try and get rid of her gift somehow. Blaze....I'm sorry."
He ripped the papers up. He grinned. "She tricked me, I tricked her into the marraige. She is not getting rid of me that easily." He kissed Carol's cheek. "Thanks mom. Any hints would greatly help me out?"
She smiled, "I just love this coffee creamer. Know what flavor it is?"
He shook his head.
" Mmm. Irish cream."
