Chapter 13 I SEE STUPID PEOPLE Maggie I woke up the next day with my hand throbbing. I saw it wrapped with a splint. Fantastic. Then I remembered what happened last night. Did I punch the quarterback of the football team in the nose? Yes, I did — homophobic jerk. Nash was still sleeping. I sat up, careful with my hand, when an arm pulled me back down. “Morning, you brute.” He smiled. “Morning, you tool.” “I’ll tool you.” He pulled me under him, being careful with my hand. Then he crashed his lips into mine. Okay, so this wasn’t that bad. He laid next to me as I sighed. “What?” “Why must people be so stupid?” “Do you mean the guy that you punched last night?” “Well, yeah.” He rubbed his chin. “It’s that expression. I see stupid people everywhere.” “That is, I see dead people.”
