6. A Peacemaker

1231 Words
After a quick shower, Harry descended the stairs, dressed and ready to depart for the Silver River Pack, only to be stopped in the middle of the hallway by Princess Emily's bodyguards. "You have been summoned by Princess Emily," Sonia informed, bowing respectfully. However, this invitation sent a chill through Harry's entire being for reasons unknown. The Princess had grown up before his eyes, yet she had never spoken to him. Tracey, on the other hand, would often chatter about how kind Princess Emily was, yet she would only speak when necessary. Harry quietly followed Sonia into the royal garden. It was the place where Emily spent most of her day since she was not permitted to venture beyond the palace walls. Alpha Levi had never allowed her to leave, confining her knowledge of the world to the palace gardens and her own bedroom. Upon his arrival, Emily's bodyguards positioned themselves at a distance, their loyalty stemming from Emily's deceased mother, who had entrusted them with protecting her daughter. Out of the eleven female guards, only three held a special closeness to Emily, and Tracey had been among those three. "Princess," Harry bowed before Emily. She sat on a swing, her beautiful hair billowing behind her in the breeze. "Where is Tracey?" Emily inquired, catching Harry off guard. The Princess was known for her directness, she was never one to beat around the bush. "Princess, Tracey found her mate at the mating ball," Harry nervously licked his lips. "Her mate is the Alpha of a distant pack. Tracey left to be with him after a heated argument with me. I'm sorry, Princess, but she will never return," he lied, avoiding eye contact with Emily. Rising from the swing, the Princess closed the distance between herself and Harry, standing merely a hand's breadth away. "Where is Tracey, Mr. Harry?" Princess Emily repeated her question, her tone and expression as calm as the first time. Harry's fists trembled at his sides. He had managed to deceive the other pack members when they inquired, but Emily was a different matter it seemed. "Princess... I told you... Tracey..." he began, intending to fabricate another lie, but choked on his emotions and pain. "You don't need to lie to me, Mr. Harry. I am not your Alpha or anything. I am simply asking you where my friend is," Emily's soft voice whispered. Harry's eyes welled with tears. He couldn't believe that a Princess would refer to his daughter, a bodyguard, as her friend. Finally, the reason behind Tracey's unwavering devotion to Emily became clear to him. As Harry shed tears, Emily clutched at her dress and stepped closer to him. "Where did you bury her body?" she inquired. Instantly, Harry's face turned pale. He believed that the Princess knew that Tracey was dead and that he had already laid her to rest. How was this even possible? Emily's bodyguards watched the Princess and a grief-stricken Harry converse for a considerable time. The tension in the air was palpable, yet no one knew the nature of their discussion. After a while, Harry shifted into his wolf form and departed from the palace. Remaining in her place, Emily slowly lifted her gaze towards the sky. Her bodyguards sensed something peculiar. The Princess awaited the sunrise with unusual anticipation. **** Richard grew increasingly impatient as he awaited Egon's return. Frustrated, he headed towards the dining room, only to run into William along the way. "Where is Egon?" Richard questioned. "I don't know. The others returned with the message that Egon had asked them to leave first," William followed Richard into the dining room. "What is this?" Richard raised an eyebrow, referring to the letter in William's hand. "It's from the Blood Moon Pack. Peacemaker Harry wants to meet with you. I read the letter, but it doesn't mention the reason," William explained, observing a smirk forming on Richard's face. "What are you thinking?" "It appears that news of Egon's actions has reached Alpha Levi's ears. Levi and I have been friends for ten years, we already have a peace agreement. However, it seems that my old friend is feeling insecure and uneasy now. He may be thinking that if I can kill my own brother, then he means nothing to me. His Kingdom is as prosperous and strong as ours, but now he's feeling afraid all because of Egon. Well, I can't blame him for thinking that way. He's thinking correctly," Richard remarked as they entered the dining room. "So, what do you want me to do with the Peacemaker?" William inquired. "Let him in. Let's see what he has to say," Richard took his seat. William nodded, mind-linking the border guards. Richard and William engaged in other conversation until Richard noticed the trembling hands of the woman serving breakfast. She was William's personal toy. "Bree is back," William changed the topic of discussion. "So, your daughter's return is the reason for your good mood today," Richard chuckled. Bree had been away from the pack for the past few months. "Finally, my precious daughter is back, now nothing can stop us from achieving what we want," both men shared wicked smiles, having eagerly awaited her return for a long time. However, as they prepared to dig into their meal, Richard's expression turned ugly at the sight of it. "Who made this food?" he barked, causing the Omega to jump in fear. "Alpha... Suzy... she is... sick, so... I... I made the food," Omega Cora stammered, only to scream when Richard tossed the plate to the floor and grabbed a handful of her hair. "Alpha... I... I'm sorry..." she cried, glancing over at William, who also wore a disgusted expression after tasting the food and gave her a cold stare. "How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want anyone else f*****g with my food? The person responsible will do their job, not someone else," Alpha Richard's growl reverberated through the dining room, prompting the staff to come running and kneel. "GUARDS!! Whip the slut Omega who didn't cook and all the kitchen staff 200 times," Richard ordered, still not releasing his grip on Cora's hair. The guards promptly dragged everyone out, but no one dared to plead for Alpha Richard's mercy. "As for this one..." Alpha Richard whispered into Cora's ear, pulling her head back, his breath brushing against her face. "Tie her hands and feet to my bed, and make sure not a single piece of cloth is left on her body," he pushed her away. Cora cried out in fear as she was dragged away. She had been kidnapped and brought to the Silver River Pack two months ago. She had belonged to a small pack, but when William laid eyes on her beauty, he took her as his possession. Since that day, she had become a prisoner of the Silver River Pack, forced to warm William's bed every night. However, this was the first time she had become Richard's victim, it became clear to her that he was even worse than William. "f**k!" Richard slammed his hand down on the table. He despised changes and disruptions to his schedule or daily life. "Richard, calm down. I received a mind-link about the Peacemaker. He has already arrived," William informed. “Let him wait! First I want to finish things with that Omega.”
