Chapter 5

The next morning, she gets up at 6:30 am, takes a shower and puts on her new clothes. A tight black dress that accentuated her curves and shoes of the same color, with higher heels than she usually wore. In her new suitcase, she puts everything she needs, and in a small lunchbox, she puts two cheese sandwiches, 1 apple, 1 banana and a bottle of water. That would be her lunch and snack, as she couldn't go out for lunch. She goes to the bus stop and the other passengers can't help but stare. When her stop arrives, she goes to the nearest Starbucks to buy the CEO's coffee, but at that very moment, she remembers that she doesn't know how the CEO drinks coffee. With a sigh, she decides to buy several. She takes the tray and, elegantly, enters the reception. She showed the card she already had on her chest and entered the elevator, going out on the top floor. The clock on the wall indicated that it was 8.15 and she feared that the CEO was not there yet and that the cafe was getting cold. She knocks on the door and enters, and is surprised by her boss's presence. The CEO is also amazed, and looks at his watch. - You are early, Miss Green. - I apologize, sir. Do you want your coffee or should I get another one later? - Give me my coffee. I really need it. She enters and the CEO admires the beauty of the woman, who, with that dress, was much sexier. She puts the tray down on the desk and says: - You didn't tell me how you liked your coffee, so I bought Espresso, Americano, latte, mocchiato, cappuccino and mocha. - she says, pointing to each glass. Christopher smiled. - Well, you covered all the hypotheses. I stick with Americano. I hope it's sugar free? – he asks, taking the glass. - They are all unsweetened. Swap the sugar aside. - From now on, you can bring me Americano daily. When I want something else, I let you know. - he says with a smile. - Take the opportunity to integrate into your new office. My schedule is in the application. You have access to it. I have a meeting at 10. As I don't have a private secretary yet, I'd like you to come with me and take notes. You can go now. Saphira takes the tray and turns to leave. - You can go out that way. That door connects our offices. She nods and heads for the door. - Another thing, Miss Green. Was this dress bought expressly to come to work? She blushes. Would it have been wrong to buy that dress? - Why do you ask Sir? It's not appropriate? I was advised to buy more professional clothes. - There's nothing wrong with your dress. - he says, moving closer to Saphira. – Your usual clothes didn't have a problem either, and you can use them on a daily basis. It is advisable to have a more professional outfit to change in your office, in case you accompany me to some meeting or business trip, but be careful – he reaches out and rips off the price tag she forgot on the back of the collar of the dress. – to withdraw the price before use. Saphira blushes completely. So much work to look professional and she had been walking around wearing the price tag. She wanted a hole to hide in, but the CEO turns his back and goes back to his seat, throwing the tag in the trash and picking up his coffee. She enters the office and leans her back against the door. How embarrassing. Christopher was curious and took the tag out of the trash. She had gone shopping for a dress, which, even if it fit her well, was cheap. It made him curious. Hadn't they given her a credit card? When Saphira recovers, she sets the tray on the table. What was she going to do with 5 coffees? She sets the latte down on her desk and leaves the office. She looks around and sees one of the management secretaries. Putting on her biggest smile, she approaches the woman and introduces herself. Saying that she had bought too many coffees, she offered the tray to the woman, who accepted it with a smile. The CEO peeks at the office door when he hears the sounds of laughter. The office was always so silent, and watched his PA's interaction with the secretary. She was already settling into the office. He goes back to work, forgetting about his PA. Saphita enters her office and immediately starts working. While sipping her Latte, she opens applications, checks her calendar, opens her line to receive all outside calls before passing them on to her boss. She was concentrating on her work when the internal phone rang. She looks over and sees that button 1 is flashing red, which probably means the CEO is at the other end of the line. She answers. - What can I help you, sir? - Come to my office. She immediately gets up, straightens her dress, takes her notebook and pen and walks into the office next to hers. - As we're going to work close together, let's talk about some rules. - he says, pointing to the place opposite him for her to sit. She sits down, crosses her legs elegantly, and places her notebook in her lap. - First of all, although in meetings and other official situations, my name is Mr. Dixan, as my PA, I want to be called Christopher. - In that case, Mr. Christopher, my name is Saphira and I prefer to be called by it too. The CEO Nods. - Secondly, any call that comes to me only comes to my office after an appointment. This does not apply to my family. Any emergency call must be resolved by you, with the exception of those that I really have to intervene with. Saphira takes notes. - Thirdly, there are some pamphlets on the table by the entrance. I would like you to take them with you. Most of the time I have lunch in my office. You can order lunch for me and you every day. You can go out to eat if you prefer. I'm not weird. Surprise me. – he removes a card from his wallet and hands it to her. – use this card to pay for our meals. - But sir, I have a business credit card already. - You do? Have you used it already? - No sir. - Way? Does that mean you paid for the coffee and clothes you're wearing today with your own money? - Yes sir. - Wait, you mean you only bought that dress? Saphira blushes. - You are young, but you don't know how to take advantage of the benefits that the PA job offers you. My PA has to dress well for meetings and can't always wear the same outfit. People will think I don't pay you enough. And I am talking about expensive clothes. He picks up the phone and dials a number he reads from a card that he pulls out of the card folder.
