The knights in training boarded their assigned carriages, Kit and Lance were riding the same carriage
Their destination is the Eastern Forest, one of the largest forests in the continent.
This was the closest in Camelot
Many Knights and Adventurers ventures the unknown woodlands in search for treasure and glory
But, there were legends in the mysterious forest
One, is the fairies, they were either good fairies or bad fairies.
Good fairies guide you when you venture to the forests, fairies are likely to favor those with high mana output as they can sense the mana,
Bad fairies are mischievous as they can play tricks on you, or lead you to your certain death.
The second legend is the Dryads, the protector of the forest
Some say they're very alluring because of their beauty, they're harmless, but if you somehow endanger the forest in any way you'll likely meet your demise and be fertilizer for the forest.
The last one is the night wolves, ferocious large black dogs
They hunt the forest at night.
Some say their packs consist of 30 to 40 wolves altogether
Although It's only a legend, because It's a rarely spotted in the forest.
"Hey Kit, are you okay?" Lance noticed Kit's shaking,
"Y-Yeah, just a little nervous" Kit said as he inhale and exhale before calming down
"Hey kid, here." A trainee who's older than him gives him something
"It's Lavender, smelling it would calm you down." He said
Kit took a deep breath as he inhale the aroma of the Lavender
The smell of the flower entangles his nostrils, later his nerves calmed down.
"What's your name kid?" The man said
"Ah, It's Kit, thanks for the flower." Kit said, Lance was smelling the flower too
"No problem, name is Grant." He said as he reaches out his muscular hand
Kit shakes them and they continue talking about why he's being a knight.
Apparently, he's from a village in the south, he came to Camelot in search of Knigthood
Luckily, Camelot is now accepting peasants into the Knighthood as the Third King proclaimed.
Grant is from a family of Apothecary, he carries herbs all the time for emergencies he said.
The carriage rattles as the whole team of knights in training carry on their journey.
Hours went by while travelling, the trainees had to take a break
There were different camps according to the carriage passengers
Kit, Lance and Grant are on the same camp.
Grant was arranging his stuff in his sack
For a muscular man, he has a knack for herbs
He also knows how to brew potions and make ointments.
"How long have you practiced herbs?" Lance asked
"For 15 years, I had to aid my father in the Apothecary as my mother was sick." He said while taking out a few herbs
"But recently, my mother's condition became better because of father's dedication of finding the rightful herb for my mother's sickness." He said and he handed some herbs for Kit and Lance
"Here, take this herbs as a token of my friendship." He gave Kit and Lance a herb with long leaves and large roots.
"Are these River Herbs?" Kit asked
"Yes, I'm surprised you know these herbs." Grant said while he puts away his sack
"I studied herbs before I got into knight training, these herbs are used for wounds, right?" Kit said as he examines the herb.
"Yes, It heals the would. It's very useful if you're gravely injured." Grant said
After the break, the team quickly boarded the carriage
They carried on their journey, the passing scenery of the grasslands are refreshing.
The fresh air blowing into Kit's face, he felt relaxed. after putting the lavender Grant gave him into his nose again, he felt really relaxed.
Kit talked to the other people inside the carriage, Lance was asleep and Grant was enjoying the scenery
There are several carriages passing, merchants and adventurers.
Since the Forest is a good place to collect wares and for adventuring stuff.
It was a long road ahead
"Hey, heard the rumors yet?" One of the trainee said
"What rumor?" Said the man he's talking too
"The Night Wolves are frequently spotted, It was crazy! It was just a myth to be honest." Said the man.
"There's also large amounts of large animals being spotted inside the forest, that adventurer said while I was at the tavern." He said
Hearing that, Kit trembled, It added to his worries.
Many hours later, they reached the sea of trees
The carriages stopped at the entrance of the forest
There are camps outside the forest, adventurers to be exact
There's also merchants who's selling herbs and potions. There's also a merchant who sells weapons.
Kit and the others
"Here's the eastern forest. The largest forest in the east." Lance said as he was mesmerized by the large trees
"Herbs. Herbs. Herbs..." Grant was grumbling herbs under his breath as he's looking towards the forest.
Kit could only look at him with a wry smile.
"So this is where our first step starts." Lance said confidently.
"Yeah, I could find a ton of herbs here." Grant said while stretching his harms
"I wish I could survive." Kit said looking down
Lance puts his arms on Kit's shoulder to calm him down
"Don't worry! I'm here! Grant is also here!" He said
"Thanks Lance." Kit said with a smile
The forest is bigger than the Camelot itself so It's easy losing your way.
Its also practical to hire a mage who can use Clairvoyance which can see all the paths of the forest.
There is a large waterfall somewhere the forest, some adventurers found the place and said that the water has a healing properties so many adventurers explore the forest for the water because It can be sold in a large amount.
The Knights rallied the trainees into lines
Then Cromwell stood in front of them
"Listen well, Lads!" He spoke in a commanding tone
"Today is the first step of your knighthood! Do your best!" He said
Everyone relied and saluted
While Kit was rather nervous
