5: The Annual Hunt

Kit was stretching his arms as he just woke up.
The sun hasn't risen yet but he's up, he always wake up this early because he always do his daily training.
He put on his trousers and a shirt and began sword training
He's getting nervous because the hunt is today
Each Knight in training will be hunting beasts.
Powerful and dangerous beasts.
Many could die if careless, but for Kit, he could die out there knowing his strength
With his current strength he couldn't kill a single boar.
That is why he's doing his best training.
After sword training he trained his body till t he sun has risen up.
He went for a quick breakfast before leaving.

Lance was getting up from bed, having the sun hit his face from the window.
He stretched his arms and washed his face and put on his clothes.
He got down and the maid served him his breakfast.
"Here you go, young master." The maid served him a portion of meat, soup and bread, she also served him fresh squeezed orange juice.
This house was from his grandmother, since he ran away from home his grandmother took him in.
His grandmother is a duchess of Camelot, having a house, no a mansion this big is common.
He put on his armor which is a steel plated armor and a steel sword.
his grandmother keeps pestering him on buying a much more quality weapon like a mithril sword or which is a rare sword or a magic sword.
But he refused as this sword he's carrying is a sword given by his butler, Adam.
The sword that Adam has used when he's still in service was given to him.
Such a sentimental sword which to him is a irreplaceable item.
He made his way to the knights barrack which is a gathering place for the knights.
The time given to them to assemble is 7:00 AM sharp, If the trainees were to arrive at 7:91 AM will be strictly punished.
Last time he checked, It was only 6:30 AM when he looked at the plaza clock tower.
The trainees were chatting with each other, some were training and some are eating some bread.
He yawned as he walked passed those trainees and sat at the grass area.
The sun was slowly rising as he caught glimpse of Kit who's walking sluggishly.

Kit was already exhausted
Because he chased a thief on the streets.
There was an old lady on the streets that was walking and some guy stole her coin purse that she was holding.
Since he was there he chased that guy. Fortunately the thief tripped and fell on the ground face first.
Having caught the thief, he turned him over to the guards that were roaming the streets.
The old lady thanked him and was giving him some coins, of course he refused and left immediately because he doesn't want to be late.
"Hey Kit, your exhausted this early," Said Lance as he greeted Kit
"Hey Lance, Good morning, I ran on some trouble while walking on the streets." He said as he sat down on the grass area also.
"Some thief or something?" Lance said.
"Yeah, something like that." Said Kit as he breathed in the fresh air.
Before long, Cromwell arrived at the barracks
"LADS! FORMATION!" He immediately shouted on top of his lungs as the trainees hurriedly got into formation.
"As so you know, the Hunt is today! Get yer asses ready as you will face the forest with yer full determination and strength! Failure is not an option! You may as well die rather than reporting to me!" Cromwell said as the pressure attacks the trainees, the others were utterly terrified but others are more excited and determined.
Kit was shaking but his face was straight as he didn't want the fear to take over him.
Lance also, but he probably can pass this test. That was on his mind.
The Knights besides Cromwell gave the trainees the equipment they lack, mainly weapons and armors.
Kit was given an Leather armor, he was carrying an Iron sword to begin with, all he lacks was armor.
The Sword was given to him by Roger on his past birthday so he used it now.
Of course the nobles has a complete set of equipment, a full set of high quality armor and beautiful swords that were probably forged by a master blacksmith.
Kit equipped the leather armor on him and the sword on his hip
Carriages were ready to go towards the forest, Cromwell was having a roll call before the trainees board the carriage.
Kit's heart was pounding so hard that he's sweating profusely.
He breathed in a lot of air and let out a big sigh
"Right lads, before you board the carriages, we have a guest who will give a speech to you all! Be courteous to her!" Cromwell said, the trainees head were confused, who was the guest they asked
"The Princess of Camelot! Princess Charlotte!" Said Cromwell as a girl in a beautiful blue dress arrived in front of the trainees
The trainees eyes were round as a ball as they weren't expecting the very princess of the kingdom will be visiting them
She has a long blond hair that was in a braid, her arms and hands were covered with gloves, her eyes were as blue as the ocean.
Her smile was the brightest as she smiled to the trainees.
The trainees immediately fell in love to her, as she was guided by 2 knights and a personal maid.
Earnest was the first one to greet her because of the rumors that Earnest is seeing the princess.
"It's an honor to visit us in this fine day, your highness." Earnest knelt down as he kissed her hands.
"Why hello there, Earnest, Its a lovely day isn't it? I just want to check up on the future knights of the kingdom." She said with a giggle, she has a lovely accent that's fit for a princess.
Then Earnest stood up and got back to the formation.
While everyone was admiring the princess, including Lance, Kit was struggling to keep his breath on check, his kept a straight face but his body was shaking. He was currently on the last line,
Charlotte quickly surveyed the trainees who's eyes were on her, she caught a glimpse of the nervous Kit.
She quickly whispered to Cromwell to call Kit forward.
"Trainee Kit! Come forward!" Cromwell shouted.
Kit was not in focus but when he heard his name he quickly snapped and ran towards the front.
He quickly knelt down and greeted the princess.
"G-Greetings your highness!" He doesn't have the guts to kiss the Princess's hands to he just bowed his head as he stared at the ground.
"Oh my, how courteous, stand up please." Charlotte said as Kit stands up she notices the nervous Kit.
Kit couldn't look at the princess, he didn't know what to do and can't even have an eye contact with the princess.
Charlotte just smile and said to him, "I know you're nervous, but please be careful out there."
"Y-Your words are wasted on my Your Highness, but I will be careful!" Kit said
Charlotte puts her right hand on Kit's chest as if she was confirming something.
"Y-Your Highness?!" Said Kit, the trainees were surprised also, Cromwell was unmoved but Earnest was very surprised
Charlotte wouldn't put her hands on anybody's chest, not even him
"Your heart's pounding very loud, calm down and focus on the battle okay?" Charlotte said
Kit gradually calmed down.
Charlotte smiled and told him to go back in line.
The trainees were shooting death glares on Kit.
Earnest was confused, 'Why did the Princess do that' he voiced on his mind.
Charlotte delivered a short speech and then she left, the trainees also boarded the carriages and traveled towards the forest.
