Anka woke me up in the middle of the night by shaking me awake.
“Yes?” I looked up at her with one eye open. “Are you thinking about how much time has passed since you’ve been here?”
“I don’t want to think about that. Anything but that.” She sighed. “You like me don’t you? Because we’re soul mates or whatever?” She was a lot more sober now and so was I.
I sat up and placed my hand on her cheek.
“Not because we’re mates but yes.” I kissed her forehead. “I don’t just like you Anka, I love you.”
We kissed then slowly took each other’s clothes off. We tasted the alcohol on each other's tongue from hours before.
