Chapter 6

Claire sat quietly in the backseat, while Tryon discreetly glanced at Arielle's face and then lowered his gaze at her lower body. She knew what he was secretly looking at. Her exposed legs. Her legs, close to the car's gearshift, occasionally felt the touch of Tyron's hand on her knee. She was aware that he intentionally touched her skin. She could see lust in his eyes that she hadn't seen before. She couldn't believe that he was now lusting over her body when he didn't want to touch even her hands before. Instead of being thrilled, she felt annoyed. Now, her ex-husband secretly desires her because he has discovered the hidden beauty that she has hidden for so long. Tyron seemed unable to resist his desire as his hand landed on one of her thighs. "Hey, Love. Can you just keep your hand steady on the gear shift? We might get into an accident. Your hand wanders everywhere, it seems like you've forgotten that we're not the only ones inside your car. Claire is here too, and it's embarrassing for her if she notices what you're doing," she said with a smile to Tyron. She intentionally softened her tone with matching embarrassment and affection. She felt a secret joy when Tyron suddenly removed his hand that was resting on her lap and then anxiously glanced at the woman in the backseat. She discreetly looked at her cousin's face in the rearview mirror. And she felt even more delighted when she saw Claire's darkened face while glaring at Tyron, who didn't know how to explain his actions to her cousin. That's what she wanted. She wants them to fight and lose their trust in each other. At the sight of Claire sitting in the backseat, Tyron didn't notice that the car they were following had slowed down. They were just surprised when they heard a loud bang. Tyron's eyes widened as he looked ahead and saw that he had hit the car in front of his car. "s**t," Tyron muttered weakly, hitting the steering wheel in frustration. "You weren't concentrating on driving, that's why you bumped into the car in front of you," Claire blamed Tyron, while she remained silent despite being equally surprised. It wasn't part of her plan for Tyron to crash the car while she was on board. Tyron stepped out of the car when he saw the driver of the car that he hit also came out of his car and checked the part that was hit by his car. Arielle twisted her mouth when she saw the man's body. He was tall and had a lean and muscular body. He looks like a bodybuilder. She didn't know if he was the owner of the car or just the driver. If indeed he was the owner of the car, Tyron was very unlucky. The man was large and could easily throw Tyron without difficulty. She and Claire couldn't hear what the two men were talking about, but it seemed like they were not agreeing on anything. Even though they couldn't hear them, they could see the unpleasant expressions on their faces. "It seems like Tyron might end up fighting instead of apologizing to the owner of the car," she said to Claire. The intense concern immediately appeared on Claire's face when she heard what she said. "Stay here, I'll go out a bit. I'll help him talk to the car owner." Claire seems more like Tyron's girlfriend because she's more worried about him than her, who's just taking it easy. Why would she worry about the person she hates? The person who killed her and her parents as well? When she saw Tyron being punched by the big man, she was forced to get out of the car. She was sure that the two would wonder why she didn't approach them even though she saw Tyron being punched by the man he was talking to. They might think she already knows about their secret relationship, so she seemed indifferent to Tyron when they knew that she loved him very much. "Tyron! My God! Are you okay?" She approaches Tyron and shows a fake concern. She helped Claire to make Tyron stand up. It seems like the man hits him so badly that he hardly stands up. "You're so arrogant earlier but you're actually nothing. I thought you were brave," insulted the muscular man as he grinned at Tyron. Tyron clenched his fists but didn't attempt to punch the man in front of him even though he was insulted. He would only get beaten up more if he tried to fight back. "Face me, you i***t! You're just brave because your body is bigger than my boyfriend's body!" Claire angrily shouted at the man before her eyes widened upon realizing what words came out of her mouth. "I mean, my cousin's boyfriend," Claire quickly corrected herself and then threw a concerned look at her cousin. Arielle smiled at her cousin to show that she understood the mistake she made while Tyron gave Claire a sharp and threatening gaze. "Oh! Your girlfriend, I mean, your girlfriend's cousin is apparently braver than you," the man teased Tyron again. Tyron could only respond with a disdainful look. If he weren't at a disadvantage due to the man's size, he would have surely fought him back. Tyron wasn't a coward, but at that moment, he knew he had no chance and would only end up beaten if he tried to fight back. So, wisely, he decided not to engage and let the man say whatever he wanted to say "I apologize for my boyfriend's actions, Sir. He will cover the damages he caused to your car," Arielle humbly said, hoping it would lead to a peaceful resolution rather than confrontation. "I'm not the owner of the car, Miss. I'm just Sir Adamson's driver. If you want, you can talk to him, not me," the man replied in a low voice. He seemed polite enough. Maybe he just got annoyed with Tyron and was also spoken to rudely, so he couldn't help himself and punched her boyfriend. When she heard what the man said, she looked out the car window, noticing that the tinted glass in the backseat was slowly closing. She furrowed her brow slightly as if she saw the man inside the car whom she also saw at the restaurant where Tyron proposed to her. The glass was tinted, and she couldn't see the people inside the car, so she had no way to make sure if what she saw was right or not. "Why are you apologizing to him, Arielle? I'll cover the damage to his boss' car, so you don't have to say sorry to him," Tyron spoke arrogantly. No wonder he got punched earlier. It's because of his arrogance. "Tyron, it's your fault that this happened, so it's only right that you or we apologize to them, okay?" she said to Tyron after he faced him. "My boss said he accepts your apology, Miss. He's not asking for payment for the damage because he can afford to fix his car," the man said with a smile after talking to his boss on the other side of the window. "Tell your boss thank you very much and I'm sorry again for what happened," she replied smiling at him. The man only looks scary because of his huge body but once you speak to him he seems kind and respectful. The man just nodded at her, then turned to Tyron and spoke. "Next time, be careful, young boy. And be thankful because you have a kind and beautiful girlfriend who's ready to apologize for you." After talking to Tyron, the man quickly entered the car. She thought the car would leave, but it didn't drive away. It just stayed in its place as if waiting for them to get into Tyron's car. She couldn't help but stare at the window of the backseat where the man's boss was sitting. She felt like the person in the backseat was staring at her too. Even with a thick glass separating them, it's as if his gaze pierced through the glass. Unconsciously, she found herself touching her chest. It's weird, but suddenly her heart started beating faster at the thought of making eye contact with the person in the backseat.
