Chapter Six - Training

Aramis Bronx Davina "Aramis? Are you okay over there?" I heard my mother from my past life calling me, so my eyes immediately widened. "M-Mom? Are you there?" I called out and was about to cry when it suddenly went dark and there's nothing left for me to see aside from eternal darkness. My eyes went wide open after dreaming about my mom. My heart ached, forcing me to rise to my bed and look around my surroundings. Last night was my first night sleeping in these quarters and me sleeping in this world, this isn't really a dream. I want to think that this is all a nightmare but it isn't, I was certainly reincarnated or reborn from this world for some unknown purpose. Due to shock, my senses were immediately wide awake. The snoring of Dahlia and Loane filled my ears which made me smile. "It's good to hear that some of the things are normal like the situation I have back in my past life," After slipping into the old rubber slippers my mother and father packed for me, I went out and hugged myself realizing how cold it was. "Oh hey, can't sleep?" my head turned at that woman who talked and saw that woman who accepted my suggestion last night in dividing our rooms, my eyes glanced around and it seemed like we all fit in those 13 rooms. "No, I really woke up just now," I smiled before sitting together with her, she's drinking hot water in a mug. "Do you want some? It's cold at dawn, you must be freezing," she said as she poured me a glass even though I wasn't asking for it. "T-Thank you, I highly appreciate this," I smiled before accepting it, which made her chuckle. What's so funny about that? "You don't have to be so formal, I've heard how you talk from the castle grounds, you being fearless is admirable," she said casually, that's more reason for me to be formal because I'm too ashamed. "You're that strong bedridden warrioress that we've been hearing from our masters, what are your thoughts about this event?" she asked before drinking her hot water, am I really that famous here? Just what I have done before? I just shook my head and answered her. "The stupidity it's at its peak," I replied, she almost choked on her hot water before laughing at my response. "Do you really hate this event that much? Do you even remember the benefits of this?" she curiously asked, so I confusingly tilted my head at her. "Benefits? You mean, aside from being Queen?" I asked, so she just nodded at me before sighing. "Well, being Queen is really not my ideal reward for this event, you can ask one thing aside from being Queen," she explained, which made my eyes widened. "For real? I can ask for anything?" you could hear the hint of excitement from the tone of my voice, so she just chuckled before nodding. "Yes, one of them is that you can ask them to help your village, all of the people there will benefit from peasants to middletians or richtians," she started explaining, so I became more interested in it. "Woah, that is one prize I'll like to accept," I breathed, so just agreed with me before giving me some snacks. "And that is why people from different villages look up to warrioress because unlike them, we have a chance to give them hope or rather grasp from it," she said while munching some unflavored biscuits. "I see, that explains why some of our people from my village look like they really know about me," I told her, which made her nod. "Not just in your village, everyone's talking about you. Believe it or not, they're really interested in you being bedridden after you defeated a large anaconda at your village, our Kingdom is filled with ferocious beasts so we're like their preys here that's why warriors or warrioress are being praised," she explained, which made my eyes widened. "I-I killed an anaconda?!" I almost screamed but tried so hard to compose myself, which she found amusing before nodding. Why would I face such a big snake?! I didn't even know that those snakes really existed! "You didn't remember?" she asked, but I just shook my head before a memory came flashing before my mind slaying that terrifying big snake. "W-Well after I woke up yesterday, some of my memories have faded so I'm trying to recall every single piece of it," I admitted, so she smiled before nodding. "Will you be alright? I heard you've been asleep for months, you didn't train for sure right?" she asked, so I shook my head, which made her sigh. "I think I'll be fine, my body feels lighter than ever," I mumbled while munching some of those unflavored biscuits from that wooden bowl on the table. "I see, but don't worry we still have two or one days left to train for the challenge," she said while stretching some of her joints. Do we also have training here? I want to sneak to the Archives later…but I think they're all going to look for me if I'm not sighted over there. I suddenly hate being known to them, it feels weird. Back in my past life, I was known because they're always bullying me. And training later? Hard pass, I don't even want to be a warrior from the beginning, why the hell would I train?! Conscience washed over me after realizing if I didn't work hard, my parents over there will be beheaded. I sighed, do I really have to train? "What's your name?" I curiously asked so she swallowed those unflavored biscuits before peering at me intently. "Oh my apologies," she offered her almost calloused hands before smiling, "Thalia Lowell, and you're Aramis Bronx Davina right?" she asked before reaching out towards my hands. "Y-You know about my name?" I looked at her with wide eyes, so she chuckled before nodding. "Of course, as I said, you're very well-known here, and you also told your name at the castle grounds last night," she smiled before we shook each other's hands. "Want to wash your body now? Once all of us wake up it'll be harder for us to use the sprinklers since there's only 10 over there," she pointed at the back, and I examined what sprinklers she's talking about. My eyes widened after seeing the showers though it wasn't fancy like the ones we have back there in my apartment.  The sprinklers look like a sink that was placed above us, but they call them sprinklers here and it's decent enough for us to use for washing our pits. That's a relief, I really thought they're letting us use those weird privy chambers. "Sure, I'll just go get my change of clothes and towels, I'll finally take off these clothes!" I was about to leave when she grabbed my hand. "Why? Are you washing your body naked?" she confusingly asked, so I furrowed my eyebrows at her. "What? Of course, I'm just going to get my change of clothes, you know? To dry yourself off after taking a bath?" I questioned her, but she looked as confused as I am. "What's a bath? And no, we're not taking our clothes off," my mouth gape open before closing it. That's probably understandable, girls we're conservative at this time. "I-I see then, I will not take it off either," I smiled before bidding her goodbye as I went to grab some clothes. The snoring of Loane and Dahlia was still rampant, which made me chuckle. After grabbing some of my stuff, I swiftly ran towards the showers err…sprinklers and was surprised to see a few warrioress awake and about to take a bath with us. That was quick, other's might have thought about this like Thalia. How can they wake up this early except having nightmares? "Aramis quick! I reserved this sprinkler space for you!" Thalia called me, so I smiled before thanking her earnestly because the showers--err sprinklers were almost full. I observed how those girls take a bath and they're still wearing some of their clothes while washing their body and hair. Though it looks familiar since I've also watched some ancient movies before. My face scrunches up when I realized that I'm going to do that also. Don't they feel uncomfortable doing that? It will make your laundry heavy and some of the dirt will just hug your body. I just shrugged and took off my top and jammies, being in my underwear seems like being conservative too right? This isn't too immoral. After I took off my clothes, I opened the sprinkler and decided to get myself wet. I didn't know lots of eyes were eyeing me because of my appearance as of this moment. "She's beautiful, strong, and has a great body, did God forget to give me some blessings?" I heard some of them whisper. "Shush your mouth, she might hear you, Hannah," some of the girls agreed to what Hannah had said while washing their bodies. I didn't mind those because I was lost in thoughts, I still want to sneak in later just to go to the Archives aside from training that is probably under the sun. Hopefully not. Our shower didn't take that long because a lot of warrioress was waiting for us to finish. We just shampooed our hair and soap our bodies so quickly. I went back to our narrowed room in my towels and saw that Dahlia and Loane were awake with eye boogers among the corners of their eyes. "Good morning girls, rise and shine!" I greeted them, but they both just groaned at me while scratching their standing bed hairs. "This should be illegal! You didn't wake us up Aramis!" Dahlia almost cried while trying to stretch her joints, which made me laugh. How can bathing be so illegal?  Girls from this time are amusing. "You two were snoring like crazy, how can I wake you guys up?" I replied, so they blushed before frowning. "Stop complaining and get your butts in the showers--err sprinklers," I nervously laughed, but they just shrugged and followed my advice. They both went out to fall in line while I was busy wearing my warrior training clothes because they told me to slip into that because warrioress will be met by their trainers on the training grounds. With that being said, that means I can't sneak into the Archives, maybe I'll just wake up early tomorrow to check if I can sneak in. I hope I can easily sneak over there. I really have to study what kind of Kingdom this is, all I know is that I was reincarnated but this world is still unknown to me. Hours passed by and we're all ready for the castle training grounds as we proceed towards the training grounds. After we arrived there, it was empty and numerous weapons were placed on an enormous wooden table. "Guess we're early, nobles and richtians are probably having a good time on their precious gold sprinklers," Dahlia stuck out her tongue while saying those words. "We haven't eaten breakfast, are they going to let us eat?" I heard Loane's remark, there's a hint of hope in her tone. "Well, I think they'll let us eat, look at that sign," Thalia pointed at the cardboard saying 'Breakfast hall' "The doors are open, should we go inside and check?" she asked, which made me nod at her. "We should check rather than keep ourselves in the dark," I insisted, so they all agreed with me as some others followed us from going to that hall. We all halted after seeing that hall is filled with a variety of foods, it feels like they're feeding a whole nation because of their banquet. "They're going to kill us after this aren't they?" Dahlia looks like she's about to drool. I can't blame her though, these foods before we look appetizing as hell. It's full of expensive foods that I don't think I'll ever taste in my past life. We glanced at the side and noticed the royal maid bowing at the sight of us. "Greetings, you may now have your breakfast," she gestured at the table, so the peasantians and middletians cheered before helping themselves to their seats. "This isn't so bad after all huh?" Thalia cheered before getting her own plate, I frowned seeing them happily eating those foods. I have this bad feeling that something bad might happen after we ate all of those foods.
