Chapter 4- Cade

After the fight in the packhouse, I notice that I'm in someone's room. It somehow smells familiar, almost as if I know the smell.
"Oh, good, you're awake". I hear a male's voice which alerts me.
"You should probably cover yourself up, Princess". Said the masculine voice, it was Cade. When I realized what Cade said, I looked down to see that my breasts were on show. I blushed and disguised myself with the bed sheets, which made Cade giggle. God, his laugh was hot.
"I have to admit, Nyx, your body turns me on like crazy". Cade has always flirted with other girls but never me until now, which I liked.
"We didn't do anything, did we"? I ask this because I know Cade doesn't have any sisters and my mind was telling me to ask this.
"Oh no, I wouldn't do that to you". Cade replies with a big smile which immediately vanishes.
"Unless you don't believe me"? I'm shocked by this, but there's no way he'd do those sorts of things, would he?
"No, no. You aren't that sort of guy. And besides, we're mates. You'd ask before doing something like that". I said, with a big smile on my face. When I look up, I see Cade smirking, but when he realizes that I'm looking at him, he changes yet again.
"Speaking about us being mates, I don't want to claim you just yet. I'm not ready for that". He looks genuine when he says this and I nod in agreement. I'm not ready either to be marked yet, but I still want to bond more with Cade.
After waking up in Cade's bed, having breakfast with his parents and apologizing to the Alpha and Luna, I make my way home to the family who now apparently never wanted me. I take a deep breath and enter the thresh-hold, in the kitchen, I see my mum with bags under her eyes and my dad comforting her. Chase walks up to me and I expect the worse from him, but instead, he hugs me.
"Where the hell were you"? He asks me with tears rolling down his cheeks. Have none of them slept?
My mum sees me from the kitchen and rushes over to the hallway where me and Chase are. My dad also joins us.
"Why do all of you care"? I asked in a cold tone. I didn't care about my attitude towards them, I knew how they all felt about me last night.
"Nyx, we were all worried about you because of what your wolf said. Is it true you've hurt yourself, my darling"? Dad was the one to reply. I was shocked by this kind of behavior of his. Not once had he called me darling when he found out about my low ass rank. I didn't say anything but just nodded that I had self-harmed in the past before. My mother bursts into tears and starts apologizing for how she and everyone else had treated me.
"I'm tired. I just want to take a bath and go to bed".
They nodded and I left to go upstairs to have a bath. I run the bath and get into the hot bath. I started rubbing my skin and soon I touched my area. I squint in pain as I have another feel of the area, I felt a small cut. How did this happen?
I finish off in the bath, brush my teeth and enter my room ready to put my pajamas on. On my bed is Chase.
"Nyx, Ruby and I broke up". He says so suddenly that I'm honestly quite shocked.
"Why"?
"Because someone in her friendship group decided to tell me the truth about what she said and what went down in the packhouse bathroom with you and her. She also told me that she was seeing other guys, including the guy you have a crush on". He tells me with honesty in his voice, but I don't believe my mate would do anything with Ruby. I know Cade isn't a virgin as he's had a lot of girlfriends in the past, which irritated me, but he would never be with Ruby now that he's found his mate, would he?
Chase gets up to give me another hug and apologizes, but I'm guessing something got his attention.
"Where did you wake up after running away"? he asks me with a stern look. I shouldn't tell him that it was Cade's. Even though he hasn't been much of a brother to me, him and Cade have never liked each other.
I decided to lie and say I was at Tanya's house. I do't think he believed me, though then again it was a lie.
