Chapter 9-She's Mine and rejection

Rory's POV

It's been a few days since I gave my support to Nyx and her pregnancy. God, I hate that so-called friend of mine. How could Cade rape his own mate that he's supposed to protect and love but has hurt her instead? I wish I had never met him.

Me and Chase are getting along well. I might make him my Gammer since, unfortunately, Cade is my Beta.

*Do you think Cade would challenge us if he saw us with her*? Max asks me, which doesn't surprise me. Max has always encouraged me to do the right things and I'm glad I did with Nyx.

**Maybe, but does that mean if I win the challenge over protecting her, does that mean that I will also be fated to her also**?

*Why don't you ask the Moon Goddess*? Max questions me. I always wanted the Moon Goddess to give me a mate but she never showed herself. I always prayed that it would be Nyx, she's just so beautiful and caring.

In the corner of my eye, I see Cade and Ruby snogging and groping each other in public at college. Who do they think they are? Does Cade not care that he already has a mate and this will affect her if he has s*x with Ruby?

I walk over to them, trying to act like my normal self but also to make it clear to them that I'm pissed at them both.

'Hey Cade, Ruby. Do you guys mind if you stay away from each other'?

This seems to piss them both off, but I don't care.

'What are you talking about, Ruby is my mate'. Cade lies to me with a massive smirk on his face. Ruby decides to put his arm between her breasts, such a slut. If she thinks that'll work on me, then I know Max will rip her to shreds. To be honest, so would I.

'You aren't mates, I can tell, if you were both mates you would be a lot more protective over her than that'. I replied back to him, which shocked both of them.

'The Moon Goddess knows that we're true mates'. Ruby says with a big grin on her face, and she returns to Cade with his arm still in between her breasts. This was a lot of ballshit. Nyx was the true mate of Cade, not her.

'That's a lie and you know it'.

That voice was unmistakenly Nyx's. She had witnessed everything when she came out of class. Max was surfacing ready to protect her and the baby. I could tell Ruby was getting agitated and, to be honest, so was I.

'She's not your mate, Cade, and you know it'! She shouts at Cade. This makes him grip his fists in anger and, before I knew it I was in between Nyx and Cade. Max had made me move to protect her. I touched the place where the fetus sits and I felt a spark.

'She's not yours Cade and never will be'! I shouted at Cade. Ruby is gobsmacked at what's going on between us three. Chase soon appears behind Ruby, grabbing her by her ponytail and asking her whether she has hurt Nyx.

'She is mine and the baby in her womb is proof'! He shouts back, finally admitting the truth that the baby is his and she is his mate.

'No'! I blurt out saying. What am I doing?

'She's mine'!

Nyx's POV

After hearing she's mine from Rory, I feel a spark when he places his hand over me and the baby.

*Nyx, we need to reject our mate*.

Laika's words snapped me back to reality. She's right. I can't be mates with someone who has raped me and betrayed my trust.

'Cade, I have something to tell you'. I say in my innocent voice that I always had on when he was around me but this time I felt nothing but anger towards him.

'I, Nyx Strider, reject you, Cade Rubbins, as my mate and father to my baby'!

I screamed at him, which shocked everyone that was in earshot and was watching the whole fiasco. Chase looked back at me with tears in his eyes that I wasn't being the submissive little omega and Tanya put her fist up into the air in support of what I had said.

Ruby looks mortified that Cade, the perfect guy, was my mate. Don't worry Ruby, I'm sure you and Cade will be a perfect match.

I feel my hand being clasped by Rory, helping me stand tall against my rapist. The students cheer for both me and Rory whilst Cade is being booed and punished for what he has done. We were over.
