Levi was accustomed to traveling like he was a big shot, because for the 6 years since he had become the Demon General, he had been. Despite his image never actually being captured by any of the press, most of his enemies knew exactly what he looked like. In fact to this day he wore an image scrambler, that would not allow any camera to capture a good image of his face. It was always distorted in some way.
So when there seemed to be some big event happening at the Kinsington, he out it down to it being a popular Hotel in the center of Huntington. He never imagined he would become involved as he was simply trying to check in and attend a dinner invitation. When the car stopped at the front entrance, he was glad to finally be put of the car.
He didn't bother looking at any of the signs, not truly caring who or what was being celebrated tonight among the civilians. He stepped into the Hotel, and was amazed at how nice it actually was in here. He had never stepped in before tonight, and knew now why it was considered the pinnacle of the Elite in this town.
Before he could even fully take in the sights a shrill screech drew his attention from the banquet hall where the party was being held, and his eyes locked on the one woman in the world he had absolutely no desire to see or hear. He knew the trouble was just beginning as she bee lined straight at him, her heels making a loud enough noise to be heard over the din as Dobert looked to where she was going and his eyes went wide before he tried to catch up to her. Without a word she walked straight up to him, and slapped him across the face. The sound of it drew the attention of nearby security, a moment before her next shrill scream.
"HOW DARE YOU COME HERE TO RUIN MY PARTY!" she screamed before she slapped him again as Robert quickly caught her.
Levi just glared at her as 3 security guards ran over to stop the altercation in the lobby. "You think I care one iota about what you do? I thought 10 years worth of unopened returned letters would have been your first clue that I am not who I was when you betrayed me the way you did." he said coldly as the Manager finally arrived.
"What seems to be the issue?" he asked before Octavia St. John began screeching about him for 5 solid minutes before she gave the manager a chance to say another word. "Sir, why are you here?" he finally asked Levi.
"I was invited to dinner in the restaurant, and have a reservation for a suite. Inwas simply attempting to check in and go to dinner when this guest attacked me for no other reason than my entering this establishment." Levi replied honestly leaving out all of their history as it didn't matter in this moment. The snort from Robert and the raised eyebrows from the Manager were drowned out by Octavia's next screech.
"Mr. Greene, my daddy owns this Hotel. If you do not refuse him service and have the trash he is thrown out, there will be serious consequences." she demanded before she turned and stormed away.
"I apologize sir, but if you do not leave I am going to have to call the authorities." Mr. Greene said calmly as 3 more security arrived.
"You already have need to call the authorities, as I will be pressing charges against her for what she has done tonight." Levi replied evenly as he smiled at the manager. "Besides, you truly cannot afford to lose me as a customer over something like this incident." he said furmly making the manager and Robert snort.
"What is a convict like you going to do?" Robert demanded full of bluster as two police cars arrived with their lights on.
It took mere moments for 6 police to storm the entrance, and after a quick word with the manager hauled Levi out of the lobby in hand cuffs. Levi had never even been given a chance to speak, and for 10 minutes as he road in the police car, he refused to speak when the officers asked him questions.
The police station was even more fun when they pulled out his wallet, and his record came back showing his name, picture and almost nothing else. They were confused, as the Hotel Manager had clearly told them he was a convict. He had sat in the holding cell for nearly 2 hours when a detective pulled him from the cell and escorted him to interrogation.
"Mr. Daemon, I am Detective Maxwell Drake. Tell me a little about yourself." he said trying to be kind.
Levi looked at him with a smile. "You have all the details about me you need. If I am not mistaken I am allowed an attorney to be present during questioning. I would like to make a phone call to arrange just that." he replied evenly surprising the Detective.
Detective Drake handed him his cell phone, and allowed him to make a call.
"Margaret, I need an attorney to come get me from Precinct?" he asked Drake.
"11 headquarters." Drake said helpfully.
"10 minutes, excellent." he replied.
"Do we need an investigation into an incident sir?" Margaret asked him.
"Yes, I think a JAG investigation into the incident tonight is warranted. I believe that the party ends in 2 hours, so they should hurry if they want the best opportunity to question as many witnesses as possible." Levi replied as Drake's eyes went wide. JAG was for the Imperial Army, and they could take any case from any jurisdiction, no questions asked.
"It will be done sir. In fact there are a dozen of them here in the office now. I will dispatch them immediately." she replied before hanging up.
Drake was simply shocked as he looked at the man across from him in awe. No one could get JAG to do anything, so for someone to pull that string he wasn't sure he wished to proceed anymore. "Are we waiting for your attorney to arrive?" he asked.
"You may ask general questions, but I will not discuss the events of this evening until they are present." Levi replied sliding his phone across the desk.
"Your record is blank when we looked, what have you been doing the past year?" Drake asked as Levi smiled.
"That is classified Detective." Levi answered as everything about him was classified above top secret. "In fact the past decade of my life until today is classified, and even than there is much I cannot say."
Detective Drake nodded as if the answer did not bother him. "Classified by which Orginization?"
Levi smiled as he knew what he was hoping to learn. "Imperial Army Intelligence Services." he answered honestly, knowing there would be a billion thoughts floating in his mind now.
"The video captured you mentioning you were at the Hotel to meet someone for dinner, who was that person?" Drake asked.
"Brigadier General Michael Corpington." Levi answered making his eyes go wide.
"What was this meeting in regards too?" he asked.
"Classified."
Drake was stumped for a moment as he sat back and looked at his notes. "Ms. St. John states the two of you have a history. Do you care to elaborate?" he asked.
"12 years ago she was my Fiancee. 10 years ago she and my brother betrayed me, and set me up to take the fall for crimes I did not commit. I was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and was released this morning." Levi answered.
"Where did you serve your sentence and why is there no record if it?" Drake asked him just as there was a knock on the glass.
"Classified." Levi replied as the door opened to reveal a Colonel from the Imperial JAG office.
"Detective, you had better not be questioning my client about tonight's events. Sir, may I ask what occurred?" the attorney asked him politely making Detective Drake curious why a Colonel would be calling him sir.
"The video I am sure as Detective Drake can attest, shows me entering the Kinsington before being assaulted by the owners daughter." Levi answered simply as Drake nodded for the Colonel.
"Detective, if it is clear that this altercation was caused by another individual, and my client is in fact the victim. Why are we here?" the Colonel asked.
"The Kinsington has said that your client was informed he was not allowed on the Premesis and he violated that order." Drake said handing the Colonel the complaint.
"I see this was signed by Robert Strauss?" the Colonel asked him.
"Yes, he is the Chief Financial Officer for the Kinsington." Drake said hoping it would be official.
"As well as formerly being the victims adopted brother, which makes this statement inadmissible unless they can show it was served upon him by another individual. Was the other party Octavia St. John?" the Colonel asked and Drake nodded not wanting to know what was going on. "Very well, by order of the Imperial Army you are to turn jurisdiction of this case over to the JAG Corp. All evidence, reports and suspects are to be turned over immediately. You are also ordered to keep the results of your own investigation classified above top secret, as well as any information you may have been made privy too about any of the subjects involved."
Detective Drake knew exactly what the man was saying, as he nodded and undid the cuffs on Levi's wrists. "Yes sir. Would you actually like a report from me?" he asked nervously.
"Yes I would. Every detail you were given and recall." Levi said making Drake look at him. "Deliver it to Colonel Wallace at Fort Huntington at your earliest convenience."
The Colonel leaned down next to Detective Drake and breathed in his ear. "If you think calling me sir is a good idea, just remember I call him sir." Colonel Steven Masters said almost as a threat as he looked at Levi in a new light.
"Yes sir, I will ensure it is complete and accurate. Let me give you my card, just give it to any officer if you have any issues." he said extending one to Levi who placed it in the wallet he had been given back by the Colonel.
"It was a pleasant conversation Detective, maybe we will keep in touch." Levi said as he walked out with the Colonel.
Octavia was impressed with herself as she got to watch Levi be drug away in cuffs again. She was pleased with the results and went on with her Engagement Party going off without any more hitches.
For nearly 2 hours, everything had gone perfectly. However just as the party was beginning to wind down and the first guests prepared to leave, the strangest flashing lights came from the windows. Before she could begin to connect the dots she saw 30 men and women storm her party, and she saw Red as she went marching towards them.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" she demanded of the nearest one who looked right at her.
"Octavia St. John?" he asked her.
"Yes, what DO YOU WANT?!" she demanded from him.
"You are was wanted for questioning, come with me please." he said as the entire party started gasping as the doors were slammed shut.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, if you will listen to me for just a moment, this will go so much smoother. I am Brigadier General Clapton, and each and every one of you is to be questioned about what you saw and heard earlier this evening. We need witness statements from each and every one of you, the sooner we have yours, the sooner you may depart.
"Victor Greene, Octavia St. John, and Robert Strauss, if you would kindly come to the front of the room, you are wanted for questioning in regards to this incident. Thank you for your cooperation." he said firmly as the entire room gasped.
As it was a high profile event, there were reporters in the room who had seen and photographed the entire series of events this evening. The story, was beyond belief to each and every one of them, as the implications were huge.
