THE KILL JOB EPISODE FIFTEEN

When Jonathan's wife's saw the doctor run back inside, she started crying saying her husband was dead and that pissed Angie off to appoint that kepha and I ended up being referees between the two women and before we could contain the situation we were thrown out of the hospital and told to wait from outside...

Liz: if my husband dies, this world willl be too small for you that you will not have a place to hide you head.

Angie: and what will you do, he is my brother and I feel as much pain but don't start imposing things on me.

Kepha: baby, stop arguing with her.

Angie was so upset that she pushed kepha away when he tried to make her feel better about the situation.

Angie: where were you when I needed you to be here, my brother got shot and you come back eight hours later having switched off your phone for the better part of the night, where were you?

Kepha: calm down baby we will talk about that when the tension has reduced.

So since i didn't know what part to play in these arguments I stood there ready to play referee again incase there was another cat fight. I don't understand women and maybe that's why mine was not by my side.

Angie got in her brother's car and drove off leaving kepha and I there, Liz on the other hand went back inside hoping to get some news about her husband.

I asked kepha if he needed us to drive to his place but he said that with Angie that upset, the best thing was to let her calm down first. We decided to wait with Liz as kepha and I sat on the other side of the room.

Around thirty minutes later the doctor came out again and this time he assured us that Jonathan was going to be okay as they had removed the bullet that had stuck. Liz asked if she could see her but she was told to go home and come back the following day because Jonathan was not in a position to talk or respond to anyone.

Liz got in her car and drove off and because we had stolen a car, we decided to leave it there at the hospital and get a cab instead. I wiped the steering wheel, the handbrake and the door handles just incase the car had been reported missing.

We got a cab and decided to drop kepha home first because he had problems to solve, i had never seen Angie that upset but I clearly understood where she was coming from. It was her brother's life on the line. By now it was around 3:00am and i was so tired. After dropping kepha home i was keeping my eyes open. I trusted the taxi guy to have known where I was alighting at. The drive from kepha's place to mine was not that long so in like ten minutes I was home.

When I got home, the first thing I did was check that Peterson was in his room and for sure he was. I locked the door to his bedroom and went to my room and having been so tired, I dropped on the bed and slept without taking a shower or even eating.

THE FOLLOWING MORNING

KEPHA'S PLACE

Angie woke up as usual, did her chores and after making breakfast, she sat at the table and had breakfast without kepha something she never did but that was a sign that she was still upset.

Kepha knowing he hadn't done anything to be ashamed of, he joined her at the table and sat across her but Angie didn't speak a word to him. She was too busy on her phone to even notice that he was seated right there.

Kepha served his tea then took the phone from her and put it on the table and the look Angie gave him was enough to speak her mind.

Kepha: the doctor said your brother is stable now.

She did not respond to that but took a sip of her tea.

Kepha: baby talk to me, why are you so cold towards me,.. why are you this upset?

Angie didn't respond, she continued having her breakfast quietly but kepha did not stop.

Kepha: okay, I know you are upset about yesterday but can we atleast talk about it?

Angie: what is there to talk about, my only worry was that maybe something had happened to you but when you showed up alive, that was good enough sign to know I have been a fool thinking I have a faithful man for a husband.

Kepha: what do you mean by that, you know I have never been unfaithful to you..

Angie: everything has a start...

Kepha: Angie am not seeing anyone..

Angie: then tell me where you were eight hours after assuring me you would be at the hospital soon.

Kepha was quiet for a moment not sure how Angie would take everything that had been happening if he told her the truth..

Angie looked at him struggling to get words out of his mouth so she got up and even before she could leave kepha got up and blocked her way.

Kepha: yesterday was crazy, alot of stuff happened and I lost control of time..

Angie: does these stuff have names, stuff that keeps you out until 3:00am in the morning? Who is she?

Kepha: she,.. who?

Angie: the woman who keeps you occupied that you forget the important things in your life. My brother is lying in that hospital bed because he took a bullet for me, but where were you? Did you tell me about going outside town, I had to find out from someone else yet we leave under the same roof.

Kepha: am sorry about all that baby I promise to make it up to you.

He said getting closer to her but she pushed him out of his way and left for the hospital.

ELSEWHERE

CAROLINE'S PLACE

After the night at the police station Caroline was still not sure how the roles of bhang got in her car so she sat up in bed and called Angie to check on her. They talked for a while and when they started talking about the incident Melvin who was sleeping beside her woke up and sat up waiting for her to get off the phone and it wasn't long before she did. Melvin was Caroline's boyfriend. He was tall, slightly taller than Caroline and he was good looking.

Caroline: baby you are awake already?

She asked planting a kiss on his mouth and shortly after he pulled away from the kiss.

Melvin: did you say rolls of bhang were found in your car?

Caroline: yes but it's my friend Angie who had it. She got arrested yesterday and I was forced to go to the station to explain what the drugs were doing in my car because she claimed she didn't know they were there.

Melvin: so what happened at the station?

Caroline: she was set free after her brother stepped in.

When Melvin heard that he got out of the bed and went to take a shower. His reaction to the bang stories left Caroline wondering what had just happened. He wasn't the type to leave a story hanging and especially not of that type..

Caroline got up and went to the kitchen to get breakfast started before Melvin was done preparing. Caroline and Melvin had dated for close to a year but she had no idea of who Melvin was or what he did with his life.

Melvin got out of the shower and the first thing he did was call Jeffery, the officer whom he had given the roles of bhang to for a Meetup and he agreed to show up at their hide out before reporting to job..

ST. MICHAEL'S HOSPITAL

Angie got to the hospital at around 10:00am. It was not yet visiting hours but the doctor who attended to Jonathan the previous day let her see him asking the nurse to let her stay however long she wanted. Angie went into Jonathan's ward and took a seat right beside the bed. Jonathan was awake and was excited to see her though he couldn't talk much.

Angie: you really scared me last night, I thought you were going to die and leave me alone..

She said holding his hand and trying to fight back the tears but they found their way anyway.

Jonathan: shhhh! Stop crying. Am okay.

Angie: am sorry about getting out of the car, I feel like it was my fault you got shot.

Jonathan: you were upset and I had no right to speak to you like that. Am your biggie and you know i want the best for you.

Angie: do you know who they are and why they came at you?

Jonathan: no.being a lawyer, I make alot of enemies and it could have been anyone. Have you talked to my wife?

Angie: she was here yesterday but I have not spoken to her again..

She kissed his hand he run his fingers through her hair..

Melvin got to the hide out and all the members of G5 were there when Jeffery went in and the first thing that Melvin did was push him and pin him to the wall.

Slim: what are you doing bro, this is a cop.

Melvin: what were you thinking planting those drugs in my girlfriend's car.

Jeffery: let go man I can't breathe.

He said pushing Melvin away and he finally let go.

Dufla: you set his girl up?

Jeffery: I don't know how it happened but when I put the drugs, it was the woman who we targeted that was driving that car, how was i to know your woman was involved?

Melvin: I don't like the way you have been going about business. Yesterday you asked us to shoot that guy only to get there and realized he had a thing with my wife's friend I had thought of not carrying out the job but the lady saw me so I shot at her only that the guy got in the way and got shot instead.

Jeffrey: oh s**t!

Melvin: yeah s**t!

Slim: okay, what's going on between the two of you because we are now completely floating.

Melvin: yesterday after I left here, i got a text from Jeffery with a guys photo asking me to take him out for reasons I don't know because he didn't have time to fill me in. I waited for him at the police station then followed him and suddenly his car stopped and the woman he was with stormed out of the car and they were in some sort of argument. I just realized after holding out my gun that the woman was Angie my girl's best friend and that's how s**t went down. Now am in a mess because Angie might tell Caroline about me if at all she recognized me and all that will lead back to the question on how the drugs ended up in her car. Would she believe that I had nothing to do with the drugs after hearing I shot someone?

Jeffrey: I'm sorry man, it was not supposed to go down like that.

Melvin: what does he have on you?

Jeffery walked past Melvin and sat on one of the plastic chairs.

Jeffrey: Jonathan was the lawyer my father assigned to represent him in some case where by my father had been accused of fraudster and even though my father didn't have good money Jonathan agreed to represent him only to end up changing his mind at the last minute. My father was assigned a different lawyer who didn't have his facts right. My father got sentenced and was to be jailed for five years. In the mid of first year, he was sturbed by inmates to death and I later came to learn that Jonathan had been paid huge sum of money to keep off my father's case. I swore on my father's grave that I would make sure I kill him just like my father was brutally killed.

Melvin: well, the plan failed so you better think of another one and be fast while at it.

Dufla: and what about your girl's friend?

Melvin: I will find out what she know, if she spotted me then we will take her out but if she saw nothing then we let her be.

Slim: you want to kill your girl's friend?

Melvin: if she is a liability then yes. I cannot go to jail.. its a lawyer in question remember?

Sabina having gone the whole night came back to the place they had been holding Henry and kepha but to her surprise, everyone had been shot dead. She rushed back to the car and drove off giving her boss Tom a call..

Tom: what do you mean by they escaped ?

Sabina: every one has been shot and the guys are missing.

Tom: damnit, I thought you said you had everything in control.

Sabina: I did. I don't know how they managed to get out.

Tom: you are useless.

He hanged up and immediately called Henry whose phone was not going through because his phone had been smashed the other day when they got abducted.

Tom walked into Betty's room and found her seated at the far corner of the bed crying. She looked up briefly just to let him know she was aware of his presence..

Tom: I need to know how I can reach Henry. His phone is off.

Betty didn't respond but blew her nose with her handkerchief and bowed her head as she continued crying.

Tom: what is bothering you now my queen?

He said climbing on the bed and raising her face to his.

Tom: don't tell me you are still crying over that i***t.

Betty: what type of an animal are you, you killed my daughter and now you wouldn't even let me go and burry her?

Tom: but your daughter has already been buried. Henry did that yesterday.

Betty: and you think it's okay that i wasn't present for her burial, how heartless can you get?

Tom: your daughter is dead, she will not be coming back to life. Give me a number that I can use to reach Henry.

Betty: Henry doesn't have another number and even if he did, I wouldn't give it to you.

He looked at her admiringly then got out of bed and walked out the door. Brandon had been stopped from going to school and so as Tom was walking out, he was going into his mother's room and when he saw her, he rushed to where she was.

Brandon: are you okay mum?

Betty nodded and opened her arms to him and she hugged him.

Brandon: mum, will we go back home to dad, I don't want to stay here anymore.

Betty: yes we will. He will come for us.. the day he came to school, what did he tell you?

Brandon: he was coming to pick me the following day so that I could go with him.

Betty: where is your phone?

Brandon: uncle Tom took it.

Betty: do you know where he kept it?

Brandon: no, but I think it is in his room. I can get it.

Betty: no, it is dangerous baby we will find another way.

Brandon: don't worry, I will be careful.

Betty hugged Brandon again and watched him leave.

Kepha showed up at my place and on his way in, he noticed a guy who was standing by some door just staring at him and when kepha got in, he peeped from the glass above the door and saw the guy making a call.

Me: what are you looking at?

Kepha showed me the guy and psyched me up for a confrontation which by the way I was abit hesitant about.

Me: what if we are wrong?

Kepha: someone who does not know me cannot look at me like that. Think of it this way, how did Sabina and her team know where to wait for us, and how did they know we had left the house?

Kepha was right and there were only two answers to his question. It was either our friend on the inside or the one on the outside but since Sabina confessed that she was in Peterson's life for a kill mission, it couldn't really be him so I agreed to do the confrontation.

Kepha and I got out of the house and when the guy saw us approach his house, he jumped a few steps off the stairs and soon took off inviting us for a run in the hood.The guy must have participated in a hundred metres because kepha and I combined couldn't keep up with his pace. "He is getting a way" kepha shouted and we had to find a plan B. I flagged down a bike and asked the guy to go after him and kepha did the same and that's the only way we caught up with him. The bike guy got closer to him so I grabbed his shirt and dived on him falling off the bike..

Before we could get off the ground I gave the guy several blows then later on asked him why he was running, the blows were for trying to show me that i wasn't fit enough, yeah am petty like that..

Soon after, Kepha joined us and we had to find a different place to deal with the guy so we paid the bike guys off and they left.

We let the guy walk between us as we questioned him and the walk would end up at my old place. If he didn't tell us every thing we needed to know.... Let's just say he would be resting in peace by the end of the day....
