Lynney stifled a yawn as she came home to her apartment late that night. She was so sleepy for some mysterious reason that keeping herself awake during the ride which Danson gave her was a constant struggle. Thus, it turned out that she fell asleep even before they were halfway through the journey back to her apartment. Still, she could not bother much about the embarrassment and the disappointment that she had totally forgotten about getting her treasured novel back. With no more than five lines of well-mannered parting words and thanks, Lynney has to call it a day as she fought back the haziness in her drowsy mind. Good thing she still has the focus to pull out her door keys...
A sweet and familiar home did a positive job to help regain her some amount of wakefulness that enabled Lynn to insensibly make herself a little cup of coffee - she still has a lot in her hands to solve for the puzzle of the day...And so against all rationality, she boldly gulped down about a quarter cup of the tempting drink. Gradually pulling her strength and attention together, Lynney then headed over to her living room to check on the time...Whether she was expecting it or not, the wall clock showed very clearly a quarter to one...
"It's really morning?" Lynn scratched her head with creased eyebrows. Turning immediately to her watch and pulling out her cellphone, the time on all three objects matched without more than a single minute difference...The girl slumped onto the sofa in mental exhaustion...
Questions churning like a mixer within her head, she wondered what else she could do to figure out the messy occurrence...Grabbing a pillow, she began to think...
Clank! Clank! Clank!
"Alright, now what?!" Lynney flung away the poor cushion and marched indignantly towards where sounded like a fallen potted plant hitting the metal rail of her balcony left open in the midst of the rush during noon earlier that day.
Almost furious from the heavy confusion clouding her, Lynney's jaw dropped when she was greeted by the sight of a weak and helpless furry being wincing from the pain of its snowy white ball of tail caught between the rail and indeed, a fallen heavy garden pot, now with its soil content spilled out all over at that spot.
Lynney gasped with disbelief as she could not spare a second late to head straight over to shove aside the nasty weight and lift up the poor injured sweetie...
Cuddling it and looking all over to attend to every visible hurt caused to it, Lynney wondered how did the adorable white bunny rabbit managed to climb up to her fifth-floor apartment balcony. It has one of the cutest ever pair of big round eyes she has ever seen, making Lynney falling in love with the little babe instantly...Inevitably and strangely, she saw that it had a little tag attached to one of its limbs...
"PLHEM - 0104? This seems like a code or something..." Lynney read with brimming curiosity. If only her good neighbour was awake at this hour, she would love to inquire of her...Nevertheless, a little bright reddened sore on the lovely bunny's back and the fluffy tail area would require Lynney get her first-aid kit at once.
