"Destiny's Corner Cafe...Wow, what a name," Lynney bemused as she looked up the place where she had gone to get the afternoon tea snacks for her colleagues the day before. It happened to be that one of her colleagues named Reeny had unexpectedly called her home phone for the very first time when she could not get through her cellphone that Lynney had deliberately switched off. She was also the very first one from her workplace who had given her a call outside office hours...Lynney thought about it as a "mini miracle" that had come out of a double Friday birthday's time mix-up. It was something that still caused Lynney to be curious and wanting to figure out what had actually happened behind it all...Still, she has much things on her hands to work on after Reeny was seemingly obssessed with the signature cheese tart she had bought from "Destiny's Corner Cafe" and could not stop herself from thinking about its heavenly flavour and taste all day and night that pressed her to look for Lynney's number. Unique situations seemed to be happening round the clock since the hour of her birthday this time...
As Specky inched closer to the edge of her laptop on the desk, Lynney could not resist smiling and petting its cotton-soft coat of snowy white fur, randomly got her distracted and reminded of another significant occurrence earlier that day...
"Oh well, let's see here...How I wish I could take you out for a stroll, Specky, if not for your sprained leg..." Lynney opened up another tab of her browser and googled up "Sweet Little Ones(SLO)" Veterinary Clinic within the vicinity of Sommerville neighbourhood where she lived.
"Hmmm...this snobbish person," Lynney muttered under her breath as she came upon one of the staff introduction pages. The more she scrolled and read, the more she was getting upset once again.
"Oh no, what? Don't tell me he is one of my seniors?!" Lynney bemoaned and had to close the page. She was ever more bothered by the revelation that he had graduated from the same university as she did only five years ahead of her, earning an attentive gaze from Specky in front of her. Lynney felt like yelling out loud at the most "inexperienced" veterinary surgeon she had ever met. Her mood sunk down to low bottom and she could not take it anymore. Picking up Specky, she climbed back onto the bed right by where she has placed another precious stuffed bunny, Rolleen.
"Awww, how I miss you girl," Lynney took a look at her once most prized birthday gift when she was a child. Fortunately, it has not suffered visible wear and tear from her cousin's mistreatment and Lynney was much grateful for that. Its pair of charming brown eyes still brought a happy smile to her face. It has been so long that Lynney was trying hard to recap all the memories she shared with Rolleen in her early childhood. It turned out she remembered herself having to hide Rolleen inside her pillowcase each time her older cousin would come over and pestered her to give away her precious bunny toy. Other than that, Lynney quickly held her up and checked on a little heart-shaped pouch attached to Rolleen's furry brown belly. There was just something about it but Lynney was not sure of the incredibly fuzzy memory.
Sliding her fingers inside, she finally felt a thin piece of thing in there..."It's a small...note..." Lynney was overly excited and surprised...
Even curious Specky shifted closer to read along with Lynney, "A bunny a day keeps...the heartaches away! This is so much better than April Fool's!" The girl giggled and was so touched by those words that more and more heartfelt recollections came flooding in...
